I had a yellow lab (LE) who litterly would run inside to great them. She started there at 8 weeks of age with Dr. Nicholson, and also attended puppy play time - which allowed her to associate going to the vet as a fun, not traumatic experience. At 5 years of age, she was diagnosed with Lymphoma. I felt the staff, from the receptionists, vet techs and veterinarians, walked thru the illness with me. Treatment options and costs were provided up front. We chose to proceed with chemoherapy - during the weeks of treatment they were always passionate about my dog and compassionate to me. Never did I feel as if they were in it for the money, but there to provide a quality of life for my beloved pet, and encouragement to me in difficult choices.
My current dog had to have surgery through a specialty clinic, College Village doctors and staff were there, once again, to provide direction, encouragement and support to me - not concerned about monetary loss to them, but for the quality of treament for my pet.
My most recent visit the clinic was for our 18 year old black lab who ended up with an infection. Dr. Velsko spent a significant amount of time in examination, providing options and never made us feel as if we were wasting her time on an elderly dog.
College Village Animal Clinic comes with my highest recommendations. They are professional, compassionate and in my opinion, the best Veterinary Clinic in Anchorage!
