Hoppe Tree Service

I had a heck of time finding a tree service that would come out to quote the job and even when I got a quote many would never confirm a date to do the job. I called Hoppe Tree Service expecting the same run around, but I was pleasantly surprised. They arrived to quote the job when promised and explained all the work they would do and made some excellent recommendations. They told us they could do the job in about three weeks and true to their work they called to tell us the date and time they would be at our house for the job. The crew worked fast and were very professional. They cleaned up everything and left us with a big pile of wood chips (which we requested) that we were able to put on all our flower beds. A great company, highly recommended.

Terrible. I would not call them again. My neighbors begged me not to call them again. They blew the gunk all over the sides of my house AND THE NEIGHBOR'S house! I had to take a hose and wash down my house and the neighbor's before the gunk dried on their siding!!! I was absolutely astonished when I received the bill for $94 for 20 minutes of terrible work. I think my gutter's are clear, but everyone who lives next to me is upset!

We were satisfied with the work and service. We would use them again.

They are prompt and wait until the last leaves are off the tree before coming over. I never have any problems after they leave. They do a great job and I will use them again.

The company did a very good job with our trees and the associated clean up. We would definitely use them again.

This company cleaned out my gutters and did a great job. They were prepared to do the job the day they came out. He cleaned up after himself. He gave me an estimate to cut down two large willow trees for us. He gave us an estimate to prune some other trees and spray an ornamental tree as well. When they came back to trim the trees, there was a root removed, I was charged $30. I was not happy with that because the original estimate had that included. They removed the $30 fee once they saw that. Because of the good service, a $75 gutter job turned into a $3200 overall job.

Call it the mystery tree worker... I never did meet August Hoppe...but had a great experience. After finding the recommendation on Angie's list, I called, received my quote at my home while at work. We had gotten a few other quotes and Mr. Hoppe's was the most reasonable. We asked him to go ahead with the work and received a date for the work. Hoppe Tree Service showed up on that date as planned while we were at work. Although, they could not get through the entire job, they left us notes to let us know what was going on throughout. The work was completed to our satisfaction...all trees and branches were cleaned up and taken away. We were billed according to plan - no surprises.. very happy.

I called and they came out that day to giveme an estimate. I was told that the job would be done later that week. I came home a few days later and the job was complete.

I called to schedule the work after the last leaves had fallen, and they came out to clean the gutters a few days after that. They gave me an estimate over the phone when I scheduled the work.

I was given an estimate and then was told that they could not do the work for the price on their estimate. They did not honor their own estimate. All I got was a sorry and a much higher price to do the work.

Hoppe Tree Service is a terrific company to deal with. Calls are promptly returned and scheduling is reasonable. The pruning work and clean-up were very well done.

Trimming was great, clean up was good, only complaint was they didn't call before arriving to perform work.

We called Hoppe Tree Service to give us a free estimate of work that would need to be done with tree problems in our yard. August Hoppe came out on the agreed date and time and spent time reviewing our situation, answering our questions and explaining our options in a professional manor. After discussing our options we called Hoppe Tree Service and agreed on the work to be done. They came out to do the work on the date and the time agreed to. The workmanship was excellent. I will be using the services of Hoppe Tree Service for any future needs.

It went well, they came the next day and were clean and quick. I did not ask for a quote, though they offered to come out beforehand and provide one beginning the work, and the price was what I expected.

After calling other tree services and receiving no response or unimpressive service, I contacted Hoppe Tree Service from the List. They promptly reviewed my problem and gave an estimate. I needed to have the work completed in a couple of weeks because of a roofing project. Despite the busy season, they fit the project in their schedule. They arrived on time, were conscientious of my garden decor and furniture, and cleaned everything up when they were done. The trimming looks great and I would call them again in a heartbeat!

We received a quote quickly and were scheduled promptly for service. Work was done while we were at work; but neighbors informed us the crew was professional and efficient. Excellent work. Did have some issues with clean up - called and August Hoppe promptly called back to fix the problem. Nothing, but professional - easy to work with - would use again.

Three guys came out and it took them all day. I felt I got a really good deal. The tree was huge! They didn't scratch the house and even got up onto the roof to make sure there weren't any branches left behind. They also swept the driveway. He quoted $1,550, but after I told him about being an Angie's List member he gave me the discount. They were very nice people. If I decide to have any more tree work done (installation or otherwise) I will definitely call them. They are a family-owned business and I could really tell they cared.

Contract was signed in October of 2006; workers did job in December. One worker arrived and ground out stump which was covered by heavy snow. This worker said that others would arrive, on that day, to trim tree (also in heavy snow). Both jobs were done on same date; complete clean-up was done. Bill arrived a few days later and contained the discount for "Angie's List Customer."

I left a message to get on their schedule and the owner called back later that same evening. His crew was out within two days. I was quoted $75 over the phone and explained that our home is a ranch, but is two stories in some areas, due to the walkout. The two men came and cleaned the gutters but did not get the north side of the house's gutters as there is a slope. They said nothing to me, I noticed it after they left. I got the bill in a few days and it was for $100, not the $75 as the owner had said over the phone. I called the owner and asked why he was going to charge me more and he was told by his workers that it was ''more involved'' than originally thought. I then explained that the job was not completed to my satisfaction and I was going to let it slide for $75, but when I saw they were charging me another $25, I was not going to pay $100. He agreed to let me pay $75 and agreed to come and remedy the north side gutters (when the weather permitted).

The service was excellent. I called on Monday morning and received a return phone call with a quote by Monday evening. I was initially told by the receptionist that their schedule was tight, but August informed me they would be able to get the job down within the next couple of days. When I returned home from work on Tuesday, my gutters were clean and there was no evidence that anyone had even been there. All debris was picked up and removed.

It was a pleasure. We were having a cold spell. The company made an effort to do the job before the leaves & twigs would freeze in the gutter. Returned my waiver of lien as requested. Keep up the good work.

Hoppe trimmed our crab apple tree while we were out of town. We came home to find the tree perfectly trimmed. The mess cleaned up and the cost matched the estimate we had been given.
