They're coming back in the spring to trim the maple tree.

They did a great job! August Hoppe generally is quite prompt, returning calls and properly setting expectations for when the work will be completed. They left very little, if any, debris around the yard. I did receive a quote from another tree service that was substantially lower, however, he never showed up to complete the work.

They were prompt and they lived up to what they would do at the agreed upon price. I have recommended them and will use them again.

August Hoppe came out and examined our tree and gave us an estimate. I forgot to tell the girl answering the phone I was an Angie's List member prior to the estimate. When I called with some questions regarding the estimate I asked if they gave Angie's List members a discount. The girl that answered the phone stated yes but she could only apply it if notified prior to estimate. She told me she would have August Hoppe call me regarding the discount. August returned my call promptly and said he would apply the discount. The day the tree was pruned it was a well orchestrated operation. Two men worked on the pruning, and when they were done another set of men came and ground up the branches and cleaned up the mess. I arrived home when the tree was being pruned and both men waved hello to me and one actually came over to answer any questions I had. I was impressed with their professionalism. I was very pleased with everything from start to finish.

On Halloween they came out to give an estimate for tree trimming and tree injection. I asked what kind of time frame we were looking at, he told me 4-6 weeks to trim the trees and a week for the injection. I asked if someone had to be at home when the services were to be performed. He said no, but they like to have some one home, but they do leave a note if the do service. On the 2nd of Nov, I came home and there was a note on the door stating, the tree injection service($150) had been done. I called Mr. Hoppe and asked why the injection had been done. He said that I agreed to the injection. I agreed to have it done with every thing else that was going to be done, but that was only if I was going choose this company. Mr. Hoppe said there must have been some miscommunication and told me that I could pay in 4-6 weeks, when the other services were going to be done. I explained, I had not signed the estimate and was not sure if we were going to have the work done by this company.

The project went well - the quote was given in August, and they told me that they would be out in mid-September to do the work. I was just getting ready to call them to see when they were actually coming when they called me to let me know it would be in a few days! The tree looks great!

They are very pleasant to work with and have competitive prices. They are nice and reliable.

They delivered the wood in just a few days, good wood at a very reasonable price. I will definitely buy from them again.

They provided an estimate within a few days and then arrived as planned. They did a much better job than I thought possible in trimming the birch away from the roof and drive, while leaving it with a natural shape. They cleaned up well and even took a few fallen branches I had stacked under a tree. I don't know if it would have been possible to get the few brown branches remaining on the pine as they were very high on the tree.

I finally made the call when the apple tree started leaning on the garage roof. August came out right away and gave us his recommendations and a quote. I knew they had a great reputation and the price was reasonable, so we said OK. It was a pleasure working with this company. Everything happened when they said it would, and the price was exactly what they said it would be.

They couldn't have been nicer and professional. I would rate them very high. Very pleased with the quality of their work and I would easily hire them again and recommend them to others.

I was constricted by the date that the fence was to be installed, and they were very accommodating. They trimmed a black walnut tree and cut down scrub brush along were the fence was to be installed, and they ground out roots. The price was very reasonable. They were very efficient and courteous.

On 7/19/07, August Hoppe looked at the tree and said it had a fungus but definitely would live. He and I agreed it would look a lot better if the dead limbs were trimmed off. Said he'd be back in 3 weeks to do the job. 7 weeks later, on 9/7/07, I called to see why I hadn't heard from them. Fred Hoppe, Tony, and Patrick came out on 9/12/07.

They did a good, honest, and happily quick job for us. There really isn't too much else to say, they are very good.

August Hoppe came out to give us the estimate. He was very pleasant and the company accommodate our request to keep some of the wood for burning and in 4 foot pieces for a lathe. The did the work in a timely fashion and I didn't have to be home when they did it.

They did a great job - came within a week to do the work, called beforehand to let me know when they would arrive. They did the job while I was at work and the only way I knew was because they left a note on the door. The guys cleared all debris from our patio and sidewalks. Best of all, the rain actually goes down the downspouts now instead of pouring over the side of the gutters. When the invoice arrived, it was less than they'd estimated over the phone.

This is a huge tree that is over 50 years old. Matt, Fred and Collin arrived on time and immediately went to work. They had to climb up into my huge maple tree to do the work. They were able to remove the large limb extending over my roof without damaging the roof or nearby wires. They did an excellent job and the tree looks wonderful. They did not waste any time and were very polite and friendly. They removed all debris as promised, leaving only a small amount of wood chips scattered in the yard. The price was very reasonable for the work performed and I would hire this company again. In fact, I am recommending that my church have them give a free estimate on saving their four dying maple trees. (One photo is turned sideways and is the best view of the total tree.)

August Hoppe came promptly and gave me an estimate. He also said that their schedule was very full so it would take a while for them to get to me. He gave me an approximate date. A few days later Dean Hoppe must have come by and taken a look, and he supplied me with a lower estimate. The first estimate was a little more than what I expected, but these trees were very overgrown. The second estimate seemed very fair. I contacted them after a couple of months to see when they could actually come, and I received a prompt response with an exact date and time of day. They actually came a little early on the day promised, and they did the work in about an hour and a half. They did a beautiful job and cleaned up everything perfectly.

They arrived to provide an estimate as scheduled. Signed contract that day. Iron injections and fertilization of sickly trees was within 1 week. Had to call a month later to get scheduled for tree removal. Crew arrived on the appointed day and took out trees and bushes. Stumps were all ground (even the one with the gas line running under it). They chipped all the wood and cleaned up the area very well. They even hauled and chipped some branches I had piled up from other trimming at no extra charge.

August stopped by to give me an estimate the day after I phoned. After hiring, he promised a crew within three weeks to do the work. His crew arrived as promised and did a marvelous job trimming the trees. Those trees were poorly maintained by the prior homeowner and now they are beautiful! My front yard gets sunlight and the inside of my home is much brighter during the day. Also, I'm no longer getting squirrels on my roof or hundreds of bird droppings on my driveway.

I would never consider having anyone other than Hoppe do my tree work. August Hoppe is extremely professional, friendly and easy to work with. The company does excellent work, fast work and impeccable clean up after tree removal at a very reasonable price. They deserve to be on the page of happiness. I am extremely pleased with their work.

Friendly and easy to make appointment with. Salesperson scheduled convenient appointment and arrived promptly. Discussed all work required step by step. Verbal estimate given as $550.00. Work to be completed in 2 weeks. Agreed to this with a handshake. Work was done as stated above in 4 weeks. The work was very good and very neat and clean. Very pleased with the work done. One issue was grinding out of stumps of elm and maple. I told the salesperson not to worry about flower beds as we were replacing them. The actual workers questioned disturbing the flowerbeds and had to return a week later after my verbal approval to complete that work. I received the bill and was very surprised to find it $100.00 over the estimate with no "new" work requested or required after initial estimate. When I was given the initial estimate I even specifically questioned the salesperson regarding the estimated cost as others had quoted $600.00-$700.00 estimates. He assured me of the accuracy of his estimate.

The job was done while I was at work. When I got home they were cleaning up the last few little twigs and branches. I could hardly see where the bushes had been, and the bushes that were trimmed looked great. Everything had been cleaned up and taken away. I was very impressed with the job that was done and would have them come again for any tree or bush trimming that might be needed.

Very good. We will consider using them for tree service we will do later in the year.

There were multiple very efficient and skilled workers, taking only about 4.0 hrs to complete the trimming and removal of trees. There was absolutely nothing left for me to clean up, everything was cleared and removed. They were respectful of my property and conscientious of the appearance of the trees. I would definitely recommend them and hire them again without any hesitation.
