I called David asking for a Radon test, within 45 minutes he arrived at my house. After he performed the test, we decided to have a unit installed. From start to finish David & his team was nothing but professional. I highly recommend David Cook Radon Services. 5 stars…Thanks again

Tom and Josh arrived on the day and time promised. They were both very polite, professional and worked extremely well together. They explained exactly what they were doing and why they were doing it! They installed the radon Mitigation system and went above and beyond expectations. They cleaned up after themselves. After the job was complete, it looks like it has always been here. What more can you ask? I will definitely recommend DC Mitigation for anyone who needs this service!

I called to inquire about a radon mitigation system. I am in the process of relocating, and the company's relocation provider had a radon inspection performed, and my readings were 9 avg, 14 max. Permissible level is under 4. Called DC Mitigation, and told them the situation. They told me that the price, depending on the work being performed would be $900-1200 range, but they would inspect the area and let me know. They showed up right on time and got to work. Because my basement had a crawlspace, they were able to set up the system so that it was routed through there and into my garage and not an eyesore for anyone. Also sealed up my sump basin. Did a very good job of cleanup when they were done. Came back four days later to pick up testing equipment. Measured values were fine, with a new value of .8 average overall over two days. I would very much recommend their services. I called them based on being certified, and having a 262 number. Didn't know they were out of Walworth county, and they traveled the 1+ hours to get to me (each way) to do the work and again o pick up the equipment. Had I known how far they were out... regardless, they came in and did great work, were personable, and were right within their quote.

The entire transaction/work was excellent. David's communication was clear and prompt, and his employees (Jim and Chris) were punctual (actually a bit early!), very professional and thorough, respectful of our property, and very clear and patient in explaining all the work they performed and what each part of it meant. Our post testing showed radon levels below .3 in our two living areas tested. I would not hesitate to hire them again.

Before DC Mitigation our initial radon readings were: Basement 11.8 and First Floor 6.9. After DC Mitigation: Basement 2.2 and First Floor 1.1. There were two suction points, a Radon Away GP 501 Mitigation fan & system monitor gauge installed with additional pre and post mitigation testing. We cannot stress enough how excellent David Cook and DC Mitigation is. Dave is so conscientious: always quick to respond, right on time and on budget. He makes sure the job is done right. It was an excellent experience and we strongly recommend DC Mitigation.

Outstanding. David is incredibly neat and meticulous with his work. He explained everything that he would do, and then did it. The quality of his workmanship was excellent, with the system looking like it was installed when our house was built. I cannot say enough good things about DC Mitigation and David Cook, the owner. PS: David also installed my neighbor's system, and my neighbor was equally impressed and pleased.

High level of professionalism and very high quality work. System is working well. Prior to install two tests showed level 5 - 7. After install test showed less than .3
Installation also identified a small gas leak which we had immediately repaired by another contractor.
I would highly recommend DC Mitigation!

We were selling our house and our home inspection indicated that our Radon levels exceeded the permitted thresholds. We needed to complete the work within a few weeks due to a closing deadline. I contacted David and within 1 week he was able to be at our house and install the system. We re-tested and are now well below the allowable levels. Couldn't ask for better service and quality work!

DC Mitigation ..i.e. David Cook is very professional. He reviewed how the system would be installed and provided a verbal guarantee that our very high radon level ..39 pCi/L would be reduced to 1.0 pCi/L or lower . David was right on time for the scheduled appointment and his work ethic is superior. Finished job appeared flawless... He ran schedule 40 pvc thru garage attic and out through the roof...a much cleaner and less noticible installation then the exterior installations. He caulked/sealed all cracks in the basement? David Left no messes for me to clean up. He then provided a radon monitor for me to check the levels a few days after he was finished. As promised, I am happy to say our radon level has been reduced to 0.50 pCi/L ! Great job and highly recommended for the quality of work, time required, and again his professionalism and his honest caring to resolve the radon issue !!!!

David did a great job installing the radon mitigation system; we exchanged phone calls/text messages prior to him giving me a quote. I didn?t want the system piping running on the outside up my home, and David assured me he could run in inside, and it would be almost silent. We then agreed on a date/time, and he showed up on time, was clean, efficient, and did excellent work. I was getting readings of around 12 pCi/L prior to the system being installed, and now they are down below .3 pCi/L . The lab test kit would not give any readings below .3, but my radon meter is reading .24 to .29 pCi/L for a daily average. I could not be happier. He did exactly what he said he would do, for the agreed amount, and it is silent. Unless you are in the attic area above my garage, then you can hear what sounds like a small fan in the background. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to reduce Radon in your home or business. Thanks again, David

They performed the work by drilling a hole into the basement floor and installing PVC pipe to exhaust the gas to the outside.
They also used an existing sump pump drainage system to pull air out from under the foundation, from a second room in our basement. Prior to this they had the sump pump installer come back to seal the seam against the wall so that it was air tight, forming a vacuum for the new fan system.
So that provided 2 places from under the basement concrete floor that could be evacuated.
The fan was installed in the crawl space above the attached garage and a pvc pipe was put through the roof to the outside.
Radon level after this work averages .5, well below what we saw before. Prior to this project the gas levels were in the 20's.
Please test your house and take action if the radon gas level exceeds the recommended number. I recommend that you use a certified contractor and am glad to recommend David Cook for you.
