If you want a second mother and want to be treated like a child, she's the landlord for you! My husband and I recently rented a house from Diana Hause over the past year. We needed to rent a house during our relocation to Madison. We had previously owned our own home for 5 years, are in our thirties and are working professionals. Diana knew all of this when we signed the contract. Instead of being treated like the responsible adults that we are, Diana proceeded to treat us like a couple of undergraduates who might trash the rental property. We were bombarded with email after email about how to properly care for the rental and as well as other motherly advice such as "http sites are not secure, only https sites should be used to send credit card information." We didn't belong on her email list. To make it worse, the emails were sent in a format that resembled texting a close friend. She requested to begin showing the house to prospective renters for the next year earlier than we had agreed to. We were kind enough to let her show the house early. Because we have dogs, we had to be home to take the dogs out every time there was a showing. She often canceled at the last minute and showed up over 30 minutes after the agreed upon time, leaving us and the prospective renters waiting. We made several improvements to the house while we were there such as attending to severely neglected flower beds and replacing a shower head when it began to spray to prevent damage to the drywall. When it came time to move out, we had the carpet professionally cleaned, and left the house cleaner than it was when we moved in. Apparently, this did not meet Diana's standards. Instead of sending a report, she began to send us blurry pictures, one by one, of unidentified areas that Diana didn't think were clean enough. For instance, the small amount of lint that stays on the edge of the dryer lint trap after you've cleaned the lint trap, was an area of concern for Diana. Over 1300 square feet of house and this is what she had to complain about. We did address her concerns so that we could receive our security deposit. Even though she asked for our new address twice, she still sent it to the rental address, where we were no longer living. She was completely unprofessional throughout the entire process and we are relieved to be done with her "services."
Description of Work: She was the landord/realtor who rented us a house.
