Josh, the apparent owner of Woolford Franklin & Son's, Inc, is a very likable person. He seems to know his job and is very personable. Unfortunately his business practices aren't so great. He was called by a plumbing company we were using on a emergency basis to fix a leaking upstairs pipe. He actually arrived before the plumber did. Once in our home he kind of assessed the damage and assisted the plumber in accessing the leak. After the plumber finished, his job was to remove all the saturated drywall from the ceiling. He did this, but left all the drywall screws in place. Because the drywall was completely saturated, there weren't really any tools he required...the ceiling was basically coming down on it's own at that point. I can't fault his work, he did in very basic terms what he came to do and it was an emergency type service, so we knew there would be extra fees involved because of that. He spoke of a company that could do all the remodel in our home, however he never mentioned the name of this company and they never contacted us to look at the damage and quote us for repair. That seemed odd to us and so we consulted outside contractors to complete the remodel. Once all the demo was done and his drying equipment removed from our home, we paid him half our deductible. We never received a receipt for the amount we paid, however we used a credit card and therefore have proof payment was made. He knew we were working with our insurance company so he sent the invoice for services directly to our inside insurance adjuster, and he must have been quick about it because the check was cut about 6 days after the initial damage to our house occurred, and 3 days after the insurance adjuster had visited our home. The amount the insurance company was paying was astonishing to us for the little bit of work (demo) that had been done in our home. Thankfully the check was made out to us and we asked our insurance agent for a copy of the invoice he received, which the agent sent to us. The invoice yielded many discrepancies. We had been billed for work that hadn't been done, and items were billed for that were never in our home. From our estimate the bill was more than double what it should have been. While we were trying to figure out what to do, Josh had called our insurance agent to check the status of his invoice payment, and was informed that the check had been sent to us. He connected with us and we were able to point out some of the inaccuracies of his bill. He agreed to change a few things, and resubmitted an invoice to us that was still high in our opinion, however we chose to pay versus dispute any of the issues just to no longer have to deal with this company.
Description of Work: Removed wet/damaged drywall Left high powered fans/dehumidifiers in for less than 48 hours (home was dry) Sprayed antimicrobial spray on affected areas (?) Overcharged (original invoice listed a cost of $4982)
