Our sales person Mike Wood was very patient with us, talented in picking out colors and styles that would look good together and very knowledgeable in the products. The window installers and Wade were excellent. We had two bay windows installed and he made a tent out of the plastic and we had very little dust. Every time they made a mess it was thoroughly cleaned up. They guys that did the siding and gutters knocked on the door and questioned what we wanted to make sure that everything was done the way we wanted. If I knew anyone that needed this work done I would refer them to Callen Construction. We had a small problem with the windows and front entry door, but they were very prompt and we didn't have to make our final payment until it was done to perfection.

Callen Construction sent a sales person to give an estimate for gutter and downspout replacement for my house and garage. I was unimpressed with this person, as I am with most sales people, but here's why. Mostly it was because he said, and I quote, "I should discharge into the sewer system whenever possible". I live in Milwaukee and am currently discharging all my rainwater into the sewer system, however the MMSD advocates anyone who can should disconnect their downspouts from the sewer system because of the overflow and forced raw sewage dumping problems they have (http://www.mmsd.com/news/detail.cfm?id=46). With a new gutter and downspout system I have the opportunity to discharge half my rainwater safely into my yard. I can't say if this was incompetence or ignorance, but regardless, when a professional contractor advises the opposite of what a local sanitation department suggests, it's environment blindness. Their company logo is green.

The entire process, from sales, to installation, to a follow-up call was handled efficiently and professionally. Callen construction is a class act. What impressed me most, however, was what happened after the sale and installation. We encountered a wind noise which we thought was coming from the gutter topper. We called Callen and they sent someone out that same day. Ultimately we discovered that it was a loose fascia board causing the noise, but the fact that they were so responsive after the sale was impressive.

Excellent work, excellent clean up, but expensive.

This was somewhat of a custom window install. I had three 5 x 3 original (1960) panes that had a lot of frame blocking valuable sunlight and window space. The storms were painted shut. I decided to convert this into as much glass as possible. Another requirement was screen space. I wanted ventilation which meant I needed screens. I requested visits from the local Anderson, Pella, and Marvin installers. Anderson did not have an window to work in my application. It was a choice between Pella and Marvin. Both had a nice window but it was Callen's salesmen that designed the back-to-back Infinity glider setup that sealed the deal. He promised that it would be "maximum glass, maximum screen" for my application. The install went great. There was a delay with the special order of these large windows but other than that everything was very professional. The installers were very courteous and left my living room and yard spotless.

We ended up going with Callen Construction to install Marvin Infinity windows, a great fiberglass window (looks alot nicer than vinyl and much stronger). Callen installed the windows the way we wanted by retro-fitting so we'd be able to inside-mount our window treatments and have an ''old-fashion'' look. Callen did so effortlessly, and installing the full-frame replacement window didn't cost much more than just a regular replacement and adds so much more insulation. Callen also did the woodwork around each window including the casing, stool, and apron. We love everything about our new windows! There was a little miscommunication in the beginning. We were told the work (including the outside aluminum work) would be completed before Thanksgiving, but ended up being completed a week before Christmas. Deerhunting and just being around the holidays was a factor, but we don't hold it against Callen. Everyone was great and got the work done, working in below freezing temps.

They did a wonderful job. They were efficient & on time. Any questions I had, they got right back to me on. In doing the patio door, they did some custom work to modify the door at no extra charge. We were very pleased. They really know what they are doing. Afterwards, the salesman came out and asked if I had any questions and double checked the work to make sure it was satisfactory. It is a quality company.

We were very satisfied. Michael Wood was my project manager and was easy to communicate with and also to reach.

They quoted a price, ordered the window, arrived at our house to install it. The carpenter looked at our roof and determined the roof would not withstand the weight of the window. Even though the window was custom all of our money was returned immediately.

Kelly Briggs came to my home, we walked around the house as I told him the nature and size of the job we needed done. He told me that his quote might come in higher than other contractors, even though I hadn't mentioned our budget or who we had received quotes from. I told him that I would still like him to write up a proposal for the work. I never heard from him again.

The individual who was assigned to the estimate called and stated he was running late on a job and would like to reschedule.

The salesperson was helpful, but a bit slow to return calls. The installers were professional, protected carpets and plants, and cleaned up work areas. I have concerns about the paint subcontractor, but Callen and the subcontractor have followed up on requested issues. Followup regarding the installation and payment was unusually slow.

They are efficient, and courteous. They show up when they are supposed to. They also called to see how everything is going.

Having a 30 year home, I have run into contractors that when there is a problem, they act like its my fault! Callen, on the other hand, just fixes the problem and gets the job done. Jobs are done right! It's a little expensive, but quality & professionalism is excellent. They were great employees.

Everyone at Callen worked with me to get the kind of patio door that I wanted. I did not want the standard type door and what they proposed and installed was well worth the extra $$. They showed up when they said they would and even took care of a defective part on the door by simply ordering a new part and coming immediately back out to install it. No waiting for months for them to fix that problem. They are very highly skilled professionals who take a great deal of pride in their work. They have really improved my older house and I am very pleased.

Mike Wood promised that Callen installer would cleaned out gutters prior to installing the Gutter Toppers. They failed to clean the gutters. Also we have asked Callen to fix the front of the house countless times because the water keeps pouring over the Gutter Toppers and not into the gutters. They haven't been able to correct this problem.

EVERYTHING WENT EXTREMELY WELL. OUR SALESMAN WAS KNOWLEDGEABLE AND HELPFUL. THE INSTALLERS WERE GREAT!!! THEIR WORK WAS VERY SATISFACTORY, AND THEY CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES. THEY WERE VERY POLITE AND RESPECTED OUR PRIVACY WHILE IN OUR HOME.

THE ESTIMATES DONE AND WORK SCHEDULED WERE ALL DONE BY VERY FRIENDLY BUSINESS LIKE EMPLOYEES. THE CLEAN UP WAS GREAT AND THEY WERE CAREFUL ABOUT THE PLANTINGS BY MY HOUSE AND NEARBY.

All in all, we had a positive experience. They were responsive in coming out to give us a quote. They were not the least expensive of the three quotes, but came highly recommended and seemed to be the right fit for our project. The particular crew (Fred with his son and daughter) that sided our house was outstanding. They were always on time, cleaned up at days end and notified us of the daily progress. They also coordinated well with other contractors involved in our project. We would use them again. However, in the future, we would choose to work with a different sales manager other than Brad due to his communication style.

THEY WERE EXTREMELY GOOD WORKERS, IT WAS A DIFFICULT JOB DUE TO THE SCREENED PORCH WHERE THEY REPLACED THE WINDOWS WAS NOT LEVEL AND THEY DID A GOOD JOB MAKING THINGS APPEAR LEVEL. IT WAS A TRICKY JOB.

Overall, the job was done well. The installers were a little unprofessional the day they showed up to measure - mostly because they thought no one was home so their language was a bit off color. We worked it out and they were nice guys. They also forgot to bill us the final invoice but that also got taken care of. It seems like a good product.

IT WAS QUALITY FROM THE SALE POINT TO THE FINAL PRODUCT. THEY CHECKED EVERYTHING OUT FROM START TO FINISH. THE INSTALLATION WAS DONE ON A COLD, WET DAY AND THE INSTALLER'S HAD COVER'S FOR THE CARPET. THEY WERE VERY NEAT AND DID QUALITY EFFICIENT WORK.

I THOUGHT THE PROFESSIONALISM ON THE BILLING LEAVES SOMETHING TO BE DESIRED.
