Response from All Style Quality Fence LLC
We sincerely regret this member got this impression per our conversation on 4/9/13. In regards to her issue with us pulling permits, Steve tried his best to explain why we do not typically pull permits. He explained that we normally do not pull them as we do all of our own fence installations during the day as well as run all of our sales appointments as well. It was explained that it is tough for us to pull a permit for every job with the hours that we work. We have never had a problem with this or ever had any type of issues, as most cities want the homeowner to pull the permit. On all permits the contractor is named and put on the permit as the contractor doing the work. If the homeowner, or we pull the permit, this information on the permit would not be any different. We do make sure all required permits are obtained before building and follow all city guidelines. But, not pulling a permit does not mean that a “Red Flag” shall be raised for a company or that they do not take responsibility for their work. In her Village of Shorewood, the website states: “Homeowners should always find out which permits are required before hiring a contractor to do work on their home and then request a copy of the permit before allowing the contractor to start work. It is the homeowner's responsibility to ensure all required permits have been obtained.” We are properly licensed, insured, and provide a Lien Waiver once the project has been completed so a customer does not have any worries. It was very difficult trying to talk with this member as she would ask a question, and not let Steve answer them without continually cutting him off and not allowing him to talk or explain. She wanted a wood fence with long lasting fence posts. She did not like the idea of Cedar Posts or treated posts for wood, and thought that attaching to metal poles or using a vinyl material would look like “poo” to say it nicely. We did not get any further into the conversation when she stated she had higher standards and is a chemist and does not want a chemical on her property and continued on about the FDA and their guidelines and that we were probably ok with them…and wanted to debate this. At this point Steve told her that we were probably not the company for her as there was not a product available for what she wants to accomplish. We think she took that offensively as being “rude” and called Steve “shady” and hung up on him. We take responsibility for all the work we do as you can read our reports and testimonials of us taking care of our customers / members. We take pride in our work and stand by anything we do 100%. It genuinely saddens us to hear someone call us such a name as we try our very best to make sure all members and our customers are pleased with every aspect of their project and experience with our company and will continue to do so.
