Description of Work: We have water damage around our upper and lower windows. We had a company come assess the damage in October but they still have not repaired it an it's been over 2 months! 1-800 Water Damage was fantastic. I called them in the afternoon to make an appointment and they were able to come out the next day. Joel called me before the appointment and let me know that 1-800 Water Damage might not be the right people to fix my problem but he would gladly come out to take a look at my damage. Joel was very professional and was able to look at and measure the saturation around our window framing. Although his company was not the right one for the job, he referred me to a reliable alternative. I am so pleased with the honesty and great customer service provided to me that I would highly recommend this company to friends and family. Thank you Joel!

Description of Work: My washing machine drain hose came out of the wall and pumped all the washer water into my entire basement which consists of a carpeted family room, a carpeted bed room, a carpeted landing and a tile bathroom and laundry room. I have no idea how much water actually went into the rooms, but 1-800 Water Damage got it all out. They were able to completely dry all the carpet so that it did not have to be replaced, and didn't even have to cut too much sheet-rock out of the walls. Plus they were able to dry the tile so we did not lose that also. The dryers and de-humidifiers did have to run for what seemed like forever, I think it was about 9-10 days. But they did attempt to keep the area closed in to make it go as fast as possible. I did have to wait almost 2 days before they were able to get started, but overall I was pleased that so much was able to be saved. This was covered under my home owners insurance so I did not actually pay for the work out of pocket.

Description of Work: We had a sewar line back up in our house-did a lot of damage-floors/ceilings etc had to be removed. They were prompt in helping us, but all contractors we had in later said their demolition was very poorly done and ended up costing us more money to fix. They ripped out a beautiful slate floor and destroyed all the slate doing so-even though we communicated we wanted the slate lifted up carefully. That cost us a lot more as we could not match the slate. Would never use them again.

Description of Work: I had a leak from the laundry room sink that soaked the laundry room floor, seeping into the next room. Description of Work: They came the day we called to find out where the water was coming from into my basement. They were able to pinpoint the problem, remove everything that was damaged from the water, and then replace what needed to be fixed. They constantly called to let us know when they were coming, gave us updates, and let us know when the work would be done.

Description of Work: AMAZING service! Our basement took on copious water on Halloween. We were at a loss as to what to do first to try to salvage our carpet and limit our losses. I went onto Angie's List and "1-800-WATER DAMAGE" seemed to fit the bill. Wes and Jamie responded to our distress immediately -- they actually came out to our home that same night, assessed the damage, and set up an array of machines to start the process of fixing the damage. Without their professional services, our problem might have become much worse. They told us exactly what to expect over the next few days. They then came out each day to see how the process was going and make adjustments as needed. Wes ALWAYS responded rapidly to any questions we had, and his responses were invariably quite helpful. His communication with us was second to none. And Wes and Jamie were fully attuned to concerns specific to our household (like the wellbeing of our indoor cats). They even went the extra mile by helping us arrange for the contractor who will soon do the remainder of the repair work. While we hope, of course, that we will never have a problem like this again, if we ever do, our first call will be to Wes and Jamie at 1-800-WATER DAMAGE.

Description of Work: After the city sewer line backed up and flooded our basement, 1-800 Water Damage came out and cleaned up the huge mess. They were very friendly, helpful and hardworking to get our home clean after such a traumatic event. I highly recommend them.

Description of Work: They installed industrial air movers and dehumidifiers that worked for days to dry our ceiling and floor after a plumbing issue in the upstairs bathroom that resulted in flooding. They did a top-notch job and were extremely professional. I have never seen someone enjoy their job more or be more pleasant than Wes. He got the job done in a very thorough manner & was so polite. He was so patient, explained everything to me.

+ -1 more1-800 Water Damage lived up to their expectation. My wife and I are retired and Wes (the co. rep.) was very considerate to our needs by calling before he came by, was always courteous and punctual. The insurance paid for the services. Couldn't find anything but good about this company!
Description of Work: Our plumber recommended 1-800 with damage to us and after talking to our insurer, we used them to remove water damage, dry some carpeting, etc. They started with laying plastic throughout our home (to protect our carpets) and they performed all the necessary tasks in a very helpful manner.

They answered my many questions and gave me West and Nick) insight into the repair and insurance claim process. I learned a lot, which I really value. I know I need not have that sick feeling after a plumbing crisis. They can help me deal with it.

We would never have them back. They were difficult to work with in terms of the coordination of the workers and the office, including the billing. We caught them over-charging us on several things. They came in and charged us for things someone else had done and there was nothing we could do about it. We had a local plumber come in and pump out the basement and they said they did it and charged us way more than what the other company charged us. We had a flood in the house and so for six months we were working with various contractors. The guy we worked with, Jason, was all over the map and said we should have been coordinating everything through him. 1-800 Water Damage was supposed to sanitize the floors before the other contractor put in sheet rock. They did not, and we couldn't get a hold of Jason and found out he was going on vacation. So they send another guy out to sanitize the floors and the guy has a raging cold and cough and I could not have that with my husband and his health and told him he would have to leave. And then they charged us for that. Then the guy at 1-800 Water Damage chewed me out for having the construction done before the floor could be sanitized. I told him nobody ever told us that. Just one thing after another and then we get a bill and we are again overcharged. They were recommended to us by the plumbing company. They were going to come out and do everything for us. He was just over booked and his way of handling it was to not bother with sanitizing the floors. They did bring all their equipment in and did get the basement dried out but it was so unpleasant working with this one guy and he kept changing what he was going to do and changing his story. He one time asked us if we were sure we wanted the floors sanitize because it is very, very expensive. When I talked to the boss he said, no it's about $100. We were probably double-billed on a lot of things. It also turns out the people they hire are minimum wage and they don't even know them. When they were done we were missing a breaker box. These kids were all over the house and they didn't even know them. We were so disgusted with them. They were taking advantage of the insurance company. Had we been paying, it would have been a rip off. The insurance guy even caught them a couple of times adding to the bill. They were definitely cheating. At one point they found a tiny bit of mold and they wanted me to sign this form and I wanted to think about it and they said, nope, if you can't sign now we are pulling everything out, all the equipment. I also spent way too much time on the phone trying to track them down.

Joel, the owner, arrived on time and promptly found source of problem and treated it. Left the premises clean and sanitized. Had an excellent partner working with him. Both very professional.
Description of Work: Mold in ceiling due to a mystery drip. They also located the drip, removed cabinets and portion of wall and ceiling to locate source of water and mold.

Description of Work: This was a city problem. The storm was so great. The basement flooded. The came in and put in a machine to pull water into the sink and fans to dry the basement, washed the floor, and sprayed disinfectant to kill any bacteria.

Due to a clogged drain and a bathroom sink being left on in the early morning hours, 3 floors of our house flooded and the entry ceiling collapsed. Wes at 1-800-Water Damage came quickly and provided a more expensive bid, but a better solution to drying out the walls, ceilings, floors, etc. Although his bid was higher than another company, his solution for drying the walls did not involve destroying the historic woodwork which would have been costly to try to restore. His same day installation of dryers, dehumidifiers, air filters, and fans (that ran for 5 days) kept the house from developing molds and prevented additional water damage. He was thorough, responsive, professional, and meticulous. The house is back to its restored state and looks great.
