1-800 Water Damage

WARNING!!They will take advantage of you. Save thousands by calling SERVPRO or any other reputable company! I am a business owner with multiple locations. We have always used Servpro when we have had a broken pipe, damaged sprinkler head or septic issue. In the last incident, family friends, who own a local septic clog removal service suggested using 1-800-water damage instead of Servpro, as they heard they were cheaper. The manager did call them. I was shocked at the people who arrived. The appearance of the people was unprofessional to say the least. Next they cam in and asked why are we here as there is no water. I explained the employees had cleaned the water from the broken sprinkler head, and that our concern was with the insulation in the attic around the pipe where we could not get to. They stated they had to get someone to asbestos test the insulation and that would rush that. They then started walking around stating they may need to pull up our WATERPROOF luxury vinyl flooring we had installed only 5 years ago!! I said absolutely not and asked why would you even think that and they said well it could damage the floor under…. Our floors are cement slab and the vinyl was commercial and professionally installed. The water had only come from the pipe for roughly 5 mins before the water was shut off. I knew then that these guys either didn’t know what they were doing, or more likely were looking to make the most money they could off each job regardless of the need. They then walked around chatting finally took some hand held moisture testers which they mostly used while walking not on any of they walls. They ended up leaving many dehumidifiers for a building that had a small amount of water in the front part of the entry only. Three days later they call saying that they have to put multiple holes in our interior walls and pump on air to dry out they walls!!! I asked them why and they said they had detected moisture. I asked them in which walls of our over 6000 sq ft building as none of the walls were wet and they had commercial base on the bottom so only minimal if any water could have gotten at the very bottom only before it was cleaned up. He answer “umm well… all of them” he wanted the punch multiple holes in each wall throughout my building! I said he was being insane. That the water didn’t hit 3/4 of the building. I told him I wanted to see moisture readings from the walls in the back and he said well…. “It’s more that we detected moisture in the hall entryway …. Not on the walls themselves”. I told him that if he where to do this we would have to shut our business down because every room would have big machines. We likely would loose multiple clients and potentially tens of thousands of dollars and then we would have to pay to repair the walls on top of that. There was no way for a small and brief water damage to have caused this devastating result when the floors hadn’t even been exposed to water for most of the building. They had never even tried to take sample or remove the wet insulation which was our only real concern. Finally I told them I was going to call Servpro for a second opinion and this young man then said that it wasn’t up to me! That the building owner had signed off ….. A COMPLETE LIE… I called SERVPRO, who came out stated first, the building had no need for that much dehumidifier. Second that simply removing a small bit of the rubber base cove in the entrance would allow the air to dry the very minimal amount of water on the very edge of the Sheetrock behind the base cove. Additionally, they said that as interior walls that have no insulation in them, that there was no need to put holes in any walls as the water would not accumulate there without insulation to hold it. They said it was clear this company 1-800 was trying to get tens of thousands of dollars from us when it was completely unnecessary. The worst part is they knew we would loose customers possibly have to permanently shut down and had no care they just think oh well that is what insurance is for!

Owner reached back out - am satisfied with resolution for now. Communication drop in the middle of the project is a previously reviewed issue here so this is not unusual. While they may let things drop without telling you they are held up, they at least DO make it right if you make enough noise high enough up including swapping schedules around to fix a gaping hole. For this I rate them 'Good' on the strength of the owner's integrity.

They cleaned everything up and made it good. They got the people to get the unclogging done. They knew who to call for the emergency portion of the work - due to the hazardous waste. The guy that came out was very cheery and nice. They were very responsive.

We are so happy with the work done. All employees were extremely professional, courteous and respectful. The work done was complete, in a timely manner and excellent quality. We felt all of our concerns were addressed completely. We fully trusted them to do what needed to be done and our trust was well placed.

My husband and I expect excellence and they worked with us until we were satisfied with the end result. We also used their construction company for the repairs. They remained professional during times of high stress levels. The owners went above and beyond to make us happy! They are people of integrity!

It was done professionally from beginning to end. All workers were professional and thoughtful, communicating to make the process more comfortable. I would recommend them highly without hesitation.

They came right away, monitered progress daily. Explained the process as the went.

It turned out to be free. They did not do a very good job at the start. Then they did not communicate very well. It was a two-time situation, the first attempt was not very good, but then they took over and put everything right. Did a very good job and did not charge us anything for it.

After reviewing Angies List, I called 1-800-Water Damage. I was especially influenced by how many people commented on how honest they were. I called and spoke with Patti. She was awesome. She was cheerful, funny, and professional and put me at ease during a stressful time. She set up an appointment for Jordyn to come out and look at the problem. Jordyn was nothing less than amazing. The whole project took about 10 days. He came by every day to check on the progress. He was always on time, always available to answer questions, and always professional. He not only drained the crawlspace, but dried it out completely and made suggestions on how to avoid the problem in the future. Although I'm not thrilled at having to spend $3000, it was a fair price for all they did. I would highly recommend them in the future.

This is the second time we've had to use 1-800-Water Damage and both times they were very quick to respond, thorough, and professional.

The technician arrived at our home within two hours of our call. We were in the middle of a remodel, when the contractor discovered water damage in the wall, as a result of a roof leak. The technician was very professional and thorough in his evaluation, and took the time to explain what needed to be done and why. I especially appreciate that he involved me in the process, and even showed me the extent of the damage using their equipment that reads moisture levels. He answered all of my questions, and their follow-up was outstanding. We will definitely recommend 1-800 Water Damage.

Very well, they came out same day and crawled under house in crawl space and said they wasn't really enough water to pump out and it was water sitting there from long ago. Mold wasn't an issue due to being here in the Northwest if it sat too long. I am going to put a some small holes in the plastic floor liner and have it drain and problem solved. No charge. I would highly recommend these guys, very honest!!!!

A technician made it way out to our home in the boonies the same day we called. We had torn out all the wet insulation, removed vent covers and puts fans and heaters under the house 4-5 days prior to the visit from 1-800 Water Damage. Mitch tested for moisture in the crawl space under the house where the pipe had broken, and subflooring inside the home in the same area. On request, he tested a separate part of the house for moisture as well. We did not expect to hear we'd done everything right and that there was NO damage. We do need to replace the piping but the plumber (who referred us to 1-800 Water Damage) already had told us that. 1-800 gave us only good news and didn't charge to inspect for damage. It just doesn't get any better than that. Hope we never need to call again, of course, but if we did, 1-800 Water Damage would be the company we'd consult.

I would highly recommend Wes Pegoda from this company.He was super professional,friendly and made sure everything was done right and perfect!He spent a lot of time explaining everything and I felt very secure by the time he was finished!I would definitely request him again if I ever was in the same boat!

Wes & Jamie were fantastic. Where do I start? I was only there on the first day they came and assessed the damage and put a fan in place. They were both very professional. Wes did most of the talking and was wonderful about explaining what I could expect from A - Z which included info on the length of time for the floor to dry and what to expect once I filed a homeowner's claim. They came back the next day with a dehumidifier and checked the floor. After that I was out of town and they completed the demo and continued with the drying process. They came in each day afterwards to check the status of the floor. Once dry, they removed all the equipment, cleaned up all the dust and hauled away any debris. They came in today to meet with the adjuster as I was not able to be there. Wes called me afterwards told me what was discussed and again, what I can expect going forward. Words cannot express how nice it was to find an advocate in a service provider and someone I felt I could trust implicitly. They had the code to my house and came and went as they needed to. 1000 miles away and I never felt concerned. I have very high standards and they met them all. Should you need this type of service, make sure you ask for Wes & Jamie!!!

I was given valuable information that may save me several days and substantial money in addressing problems in my crawl space. I called to try to schedule a water damage assessment and repair following near flooding conditions in my neighborhood. I have puddles of water in the crawl space and insulation, that looks like the stalactites in a cave, falling down into puddles on top of the plastic water barrier on the floor. I was put on about a 10 day wait list, but Joel, who took my call told me that my description sounded more like animals were nesting in my floor insulation and pulling it down rather than the water pooling in the crawl space causing the falling insulation. He advised me to contact my insurance agent, as this might be covered where/as flooding damage was not on my policy. He also told me to contact an insulation company to assess the situation as a first line of defense. I am extremely grateful for this information because I think my timetable of being able to address the problem may have been speeded up by a week or more and my out-of-pocket money for repairs may be less.

See above. Every worker from 1-800-WaterDamage was courteous and knew exactly what they were doing and relayed this to me. Construction crew was great as well....Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable!! Have already let friends and family know how GREAT they were and if they had water problems call them.

We just moved into a new home to find that our bathroom was leaking into our basement. We emailed in the evening thinking we would hear back until the next day but got a call in under 30 minutes. The gentleman was very knowledgeable and very thorough in his inspection. He even took the time to show us everything and educate us on what was going on, the source of the leak and all of our options and potential cost. He gave us some tips on how to dry out the area and told us what to look for. We didn't end up needing his services but will defiantly call him up again if anything ever comes up again. We will defiantly refer them to our friend and family. Thank you so much for being honest and putting our minds to ease.

He was very prompt even though it was later in the evening as well as very knowledgeable and very thorough in his inspection. 1-800 Water Damage responded quickly to a flooded basement (4 inches of water) on a Sunday morning. In our panic, we signed their standard contract and did not understand that the contract fee that is quoted in the contract is to completely restore a flooded area to avoid any posibility of mold or other subsequent problems with floors and walls that have been under water (approx. $5,000). We were able to get rid of the water once we got the sump pump running and we acted quickly to remove baseboards and other wood items that would hold the water. After assessing the situation, we only required 1-800 Water Damage to use their commercial dehumidifier and fan to dry out the carpet and humidity. 1-800 Water Damage was very cooperative and nullified the contract and charged us only $192. We would not hesitate to use them again due to their immediate response (especially on a Sunday), their ability to begin working on the problem instantly, and their willingness to work with us with a fair fee, even after signing a contract. We would not hesitate to call them first if we ever have need of their services again

They came out at 10pm after being called by our plumber to inspect the damage. They came back at a scheduled time the next day with all of their equipment and set up blowers and air intake fans to dry the affected areas. They came back every couple days to check the humidity level and removed the equipment once the wood was reasonably dry. They communicated very well to us how the process works and why we have to go through the pain of load fans and motors running 24 hours a day for a week. It was painful and expensive, but we know we'll never have a mold issue in our house. They also recommended a contractor to help with repairing the damage to the house.

Wes & Jamie professionally explained to us the level of our damage while education and guiding us along the process we were begining. They helped our family navigate insurance and next steps. Their personal care and workmanship amazed us and we would rec. them to anyone. They were available to answer questions at any time of day or night. They worked well as a team and we trusted them in our home.
