It couldn't have gone any better. They let us know what to do next, who to call, explained their work as they went along, answered all of our questions and did exceptional work. We could not have been more pleased. So much so that we wish that these two were in charge of all of the work that needs to be done in our kitchen! They were so professional and helpful; they made that part of the process painless. If you ever have a water damage problem, ask for Wes at 1800-waterdamage!
Description of Work: Our dishwasher leaked onto our hardwood floors and caused buckling on several boards almost instantly. They showed up within hours of calling them, set up drying mats and dehumidifiers in the kitchen and dining room area for 4 days. They checked on them regularly, explained everything they were doing, and at the end of the 4 days, the floor boards were flat as could be.

Excellent people. They came immediately, assessed the damage, helped us find plumbers, carefully dried all the water saturated areas, and helped us interact with our insurance company. We absolutely would use them again.
Description of Work: They dealt with harmful leakage from our upstairs toilet plumbing. The water had saturated our downstairs ceiling and the upstairs flooring and support joints. They dried everything out and helped us find the additional plumbers and reconstructive people we needed.

I called this company after the plumber I contacted suggested that I do so immediately. The person I spoke with on the phone told me that it is their policy to be on site within 90 minutes from any call, and the gentleman did arrive within that time frame and went right to work assessing the damage. I don't really have a price yet, as the process is just beginning, but he had me call my insurance company and the $500 I paid is the deductible. He found that the issue causing the flood was our ice maker, and disabled it, then had me check the water meter to assure it wasn't still moving. He then went to work on getting the initial mess dried up. He pulled up the edge of our wet carpet and set up a fan to blow underneath it, turned on a dehumidifier, and set up a fan to blow behind the refrigerator. He has promised to return tomorrow to further assess damage and place heating mats on the floors, but has advised that initial efforts are to prevent mold, but we are likely to have to replace the entire wood floor and probably other items as well, such as insulation in the crawl space. He has informed me that he will communicate with the insurance adjustor, sending pictures or whatever other evidence is needed and updating as the damage becomes more evident, relieving me from that responsibility and talked me through what to expect for the next several days and perhaps weeks. I appreciated that he communicated clearly so that we would know what to expect.

Wes was very professional and friendly. He was very helpful and flexible with our schedule as well. He was careful to only cut the wall as little as absolutely necessary, which saved us money in the long run. When he was unable to come out to check on things, on the day that he had planned due to a heavy schedule because of the recent rainstorm, he made sure to check with us and only charged us for the days before the missed appointment, not after. Overall, very pleasant experiene and quick resolution of a nasty situation. Thanks!
Description of Work: We had a window well start filling with water during a rainstorm, and the water seeped in through the window. Wes from 1 800 Water Damage came out within a couple hours of us calling, even late at night, gained access to the damaged walls, and set up fans and a dehumidifier.

Everything went well for the most part. They responded quickly considering it was just before the Labor Day weekend, they showed on time, and they completed the work quickly given the fact that they were dealing with wet particle board. My only issue was that they left several nails standing upright instead of hammering them to one side.

They were responsible for carrying out the wall and the installation because it was water soaped and replacing the wall and painting afterwards. They actually recommended another company that does the restoration work. The water damage people what they did was he brought out dehumidifiers and dryers to dry out the wall and the carpeting from under the house and both sides of the wall. He was responsible for bringing a new equipment and monitoring it periodically to make sure that the wall was completely dry. I would use them again in the future.
Description of Work: They gave the majority of our water damage. They replaced our wall that they have to pair up because of the water damaged and flooring that was water damaged.

The company was very responsive to our call and came quickly to assess the damage and start work. They sent a very professional, knowledgeable, and highly trained individual by the name of Daniel Culley to perform the work. He inspired confidence by his calm, communicative manner and was a big help in understanding the scope of not only the work he had to do but the work that was to follow to repair the damage. We were experiencing great stress from the high level of damage and his communication skills were very helpful and reassuring. He was very patient answering the same questions more than once and his explanations were very clear. It took nearly two weeks to complete the drying process. During that time Daniel was communicating with us and keeping us apprised of the progress. He made it very clear that he would not pull the machines until nationally recognized standards for measuring the dryness were met. We are extremely satisfied with the service we received from 1-800 Water Damage and from Daniel Culley. We cannot stress enough how helpful his highly professional, communicative, patient, and friendly manner helped us during a time of great stress. We would highly recommend this company to anyone.

Work went well. Water Damage was easy to work with and very responsive. Work was done well and calls were answered quickly and questions answered. Advice provided. I made claim with homeowners insurance immediately. Water Damage sold their service as being helpful with the claims process as far as providing information, etc. Reason for initial low score was misunderstanding/ miscommunication about the handling of our bill for the insurance claim. I called our homeowners insurance numerous times and was told that a bill had not been submitted by Water Damage. I called Water Damage and was informed it was a very busy time (which it was as far as bad, rainy, windy weather). Water Damage did submit a bill, which was high. Our homeowners insurance sent adjusters out to look at the crawlspace. It took months for the claim to be paid. I would call our homeowners insurance on an almost weekly schedule to check on the status of the claim. I was very frustrated that it took so long for the claim to be paid and that Water Damage was not at my home when the adjusters were present. An employee from Water Damage called me about the review the average(C) review I left on Angie's List, in light of the very satisfied review I completed (and I was very satisfied with the work) at the request of the Lead project manager when Water Damage had just completed the work, but before the bill had been sent to my homeowners insurance and the claim was being processed. I explained the reason for my dissatisfaction; that I was unhappy with the amount of time and effort I had to spend on with my homeowners insurance to get the claim paid. All the time I spent checking on the homeowners claim, was time, I could not spend on billable hours, or working on my own clients or other important matters. To me time is money and is in a very limited supply. I also explained that Water Damage sold their service to me on their ability to help the claims process along and they would be with me along the way. That was not apparent to me, once the work by Water Damage was done. I was unhappy that it took a long time for a bill to be submitted to my homeowners insurance. The employee who contacted me listed intently to the reasons I left the average review and was less satisfied with Water Damage on Angie's List, than when I first filled out the Customer Satisfaction Survey when the work was complete. Her excellent listening skills, problem solving skills and empathy led to a figuring out the miscommunication and a solution. She was able to determine that I had no idea that Water Damage had been working on settling the insurance claim at the same time, I was working on keeping tabs on it. My insurance claims adjuster never mentioned that Water Damage ever contacted them other than to inform me a bill was submitted. Water Damage never told me they were working with my homeowners insurance to settle the claim. I had no idea. Ultimately, Water Damage was able to settle the claim with my homeowners. I did not have to pay any amount out of pocket. An outstanding result. This was apparently a lack of communication. I never would have know that Water Damage had been working on the claim if the Water Damage employee had not followed up to ask me about the Angie's List Review. The employee said that she learned from this that certain clients, will not ASSUME anyone will do something without assurance (perhaps even in writing). She also noted that occasional progress reports would be helpful. She explained that many clients, if not most, do not want to have anything to do with the claims process and do not want to even hear about it. (I wanted nothing to do with it, but forced myself to follow-up on such a large claim.) I am impressed with this employee. She is an enormous asset to Water Damage. The work was great as well.
Description of Work: Dry-out crawl space and bathroom including floor and surrounding drywall, remove wood in crawlspace damaged by water, remove insulation and replace insulation, used extensive fans to dry-out water-soaked crawl space and bathroom. Saved expensive stone flooring throughout powder room, hallway and kitchen.

We have called (Member name removed) and spoke in detail about the ratings, we strive to maintain straight "A"'s. We asked why on the "Certificate of Completion & Satisfaction" form everything was checked as completed and satisfied even with the comment "Excellent customer service. Very responsive, very helpful, very friendly & easy to work with." The customer explained the reason was her insurance kept calling her for invoice information when she did not realize we had been working with the adjuster over this time, and actually reduced the invoice to come to terms with the insurance so our customer would not be charged any more than her deductible. (Member name removed) stated this was a stressful time for her and she did not realize we had also been working with adjuster and said she would revise her review to reflect a higher rating. Which has not been done at this point.

I wasn't clear on what type of vendor I needed to help me with water intrusion issues in my garage. I started with 1-800 Water Damage. I was impressed that they were able to come so quickly. Joel came to my house and looked around at my issues. He explained to me that their company is really about the water clean up but that I had water intrusion issues that would just continue to create a watery mess in my garage. Joel made some recommendations for other vendors to talk to and really gave me some great advice. I was really impressed with his generosity and honesty. I didn't pay them anything for the visit or contract them for work but the assistance I received from them was really invaluable.

This was truly the best experience I've ever had with a home repair. Daniel came on a Sunday evening, within a couple of hours of our initial call. He assessed the damage using a camera to show us where the water was and answered all of our questions. The next morning, he came back and initiated the dehumidifying process. The work was clean and detail oriented. All of this happened within 24 hours of the flooding, so no time was wasted. They appreciated the urgency of the situation as much as we did, and were very considerate and reassuring. Daniel said it would take up to 6 days to dry out enough, but we kept the area sealed off with minimal ins and outs, and it was dry in 3. When he left, he didn't leave a mess to clean up. His combined level of professionalism, technical skill, attention to detail, AND outstanding customer service skills are hard to come by and I will most definitely stay a loyal customer after this experience.
Description of Work: Due to extensive flooding in the bathroom that soaked through to the ceiling downstairs, covering approximately 10 feet, the entire room had to be gutted (fixtures and floors), then a vapor seal was created around the area upstairs and downstairs so that the area could be dried out with dehumidifiers. Daniel was the project manager.

All this was done in a very short time,very professionally. No hassle. Minimum paper work. Excellent job and we can only recommend this company. Their technician Daniel Culley was very friendly, knowledgeable and very good at his work.
Description of Work: Our water heater broke and flooded the pantry. They came the very same day, checked the floors and walls, also in surrounding room, for moisture. Then brought in drying fans which ran for a week. They came and checked on the situation once a day until it was dry. They then contacted a flooring company who installed a new floor.

On Sunday my hot water heater had a leak and water was all over my carpeted garage. My plumber replaced my water heater and called 1-800 Water Damage and they were here within an hour after he left. They moved all the things in my garage and set up their equipment up to dry out everything from walls to carpets. The gentlemen were very sympathetic to problem and reassured me that they would get everything dried out and if I needed anything before they came back on Monday, just call them. As it turned out I did have a question and they answered the phone immediately. They called twice after that and when they came to remove the equipment my carpets and garage look and smelled great. This is an excellent company and although I pray I will never have to call them again I would highly recommend them.

Wes came the day of the emergency, walked me through all the work that would occur and gave me a written estimate of cost. He made himself available by phone for any concerns I had and checked with me regularly to see if I was satisfied with the sub contractors. He served as the go between for me with the insurance company. I am sure, I saved a lot of money due to the input by this company.

I called when my water heater had malfunctioned. The thermostat quit working and when I got home from work, found that there was water on floor of crawlspace and insulation & subflooring were wet. (From water heater draining steam down the release tube into crawlspace. ) I worked with Daniel who was excellent. He came out the next morning, assessed the situation, and also dealt with the insurance company. I was very impressed with every phase of the work. Went quickly. He blocked off the vents, set up dehumidifiers & heaters in crawlspace. It was finished drying in 5 days (which is what he estimated.) Workers replaced insulation after that. Went like clockwork. Could not have asked for better service!

Instructions were not completely clear in the beginning, resulting in a slower-than-normal dry-down, but Jason came out several times to make sure the moisture was going away. He helped immensely, as well, in dealing with the insurance company. My only suggestion would be that in cases such as mine, creating a temporary barrier around the area to be dried would help concentrate the dehumidification process, as it finally did in my case.
Description of Work: Jason came in and took charge of the situation when water had leaked into our kitchen floors and cabinets. He called Boulder Creek Construction and had them tear out the problem floor and cabinets, then supplied the equipment to dry the wet areas. Then he certified the dry-down, when it finished.
