I didnt use the deal because he is going to do a different job for me. He was excellent. He answered a lot of questions that I had. He will be putting in a sliding patio door for me.

Emerald City did a great job. They were on time, professional and the windows look great! I would use them again for another job.

Incredible staff. Andy, Jason & Naomi were all very professional and great about correspondence and communication. Even the installer kept me up to date on his progress. Quality and price were great. Would definitely use them again.

The company came out to give me a bid, but they were the first. I wanted at least three bids. Their big deal was expiring in two days, so the guy told me to purchase it just in case I decided to go with them, because they wouldn't honor it if it expired before I chose them. So I did purchase the big deal. Then I had two other companies come out and give me bids, and we were much happier with the proposal of a different company. They were more expensive, but we liked their service and installation process much more. We chose them, and now I need a refund.

Chris came out one evening to see our old windows and talk about options. He was very friendly and easy-going, and thankfully (unlike one other vendor we contacted) he was not "smarmy" or overly "sales-y." He shared with us a lot of really good info about the different types of window options we had. Once we selected a brand of windows, he wrote up a quote right then and there, in about 10-15 minutes. The reason this is important is that the other vendor (the smarmy one) took over an hour to write up his quote, while we just sat there watching him. Chris was very respectful of our time. His quote also ended up being about $1500 less than the smarmy vendor's quote, even though they were both for the exact same brand of windows. Once we chose to go with Emerald City Energy, Chris was very responsive on email and phone as we nailed down the details. On the day of installation, the crew arrived on time and worked quickly and efficiently. The guys were friendly and generally professional. My older home did have some quirks and issues they had to deal with during the installation, and I'm not sure one of their "solutions" was really the best option (in hindsight), but overall they did a good job. One of the windows did arrive with an incorrect design, but once Chris was informed he was very apologetic and arranged to have it rectified immediately (it was clearly a manufacturing issue, and not Chris' fault). They ended up installing the window with the wrong design in the interim, and then came to replace it as soon as the corrected one arrived from the manufacturer. Overall, we were happy with Emerald City Energy and would definitely use them again, as well as recommend them to others. And we love our new windows!

It was fine. It was just what was expected. They showed up when they should have and they did a good job. There were extra charges and they told me about it before they came because I did some modification from the original deal. They had a good price. They were prompt and courteous.

It went very well. I am very satisfied. They were all very nice to work with. The did all of the work in 2 days, and cleaned everything up very well after they finished. Before they came out, I was informed to move all the furniture, and take down the blinds from the windows. I wasn't able to take the blinds down upon their arrival, but they took them off for me, and even put them back up. After the first day, I got a call, and was asked if I would like for them to add strip of wood to all of the windows for extra insulation. I said sure, and asked for the cost. They said that they could do it for no additional cost, and they wood framed all of my new windows. They were very responsive when I called. Russ would always be in touch. Again, they were all very nice to deal with, and I would definitely use them again.

They were extremely professional and their work was outstanding. There was one small misunderstanding with the inistallation and in response they not only took responsibility but also threw in an extra deal. I would highly recommend this company, and I would not say that of many of the contractors I have worked with in the past.

Knowledgeable staff, high quality work and great results. Ron was especially helpful and kept us informed as work progressed. There was some delay with installing the last 2 windows due to an initial mismeasurement, so that part of the job was completed a month later than the rest. Advance notice and followup of installation dates could have been better. We were surprised to find that work was starting on a holiday, and did not receive an advance call with that information. All we knew was that work might commence on a given week, but no final confirmation. I discovered that work would start the next day only by happenstance, when I called to check in. The same thing happened with installation of the last two windows, so ECE could shore up this process. Ron, the manager of the installation, pointed out that windows installed by another company last year had not been caulked in critical places. That allowed us to call the other company and secure agreement for them to fix the problem. (Thanks, Ron!)

The windows, because of their design and age were tricky to remove and the crew did a great job of minimizing damage to the interior surrounds that was all done in lath and plaster. Ron & Cory were very good a the job was finished on schedule. The entire process had prompt service and great communication and the quality of the windows for the price is superb. I highly recommend Emerald City.

After some scheduling issues, we were finally able to get this scheduled and have them out to install my windows. It seemed that they might have overbooked themselves on these deals. They did an excellent job by the time they got out here, though. They were quick and the guys knew what they were doing. They also cleaned up after themselves.

We had single pane windows and desperately needed new, double pane windows. We received a quote from another company that was outrageous compared to the final price with Emerald City Energy. They were extremely nice, knowledgeable and efficient. We can certainly feel the difference in our house and are looking forward to (hopefully) seeing a difference in our next heating bill. We originally signed the deal with Russ (fabulous!) and loved our installers Terry and John.

Finished windows look great. Very little damage to paint or sill. We are quite happy with the finished product. We purchased the 5 windows for $1999 deal and asked them to do an additional 3 windows. The down side is that they seemed to be quite busy and communication seemed to be lacking. I spoke to them in early November, they came out to measure the original 5 windows and set installation date as 12/12. I asked them at the time of measuring about the cost of an additional window. Something happened and as of 12/12 the windows had not been ordered. We were anxious to have the windows installed before January and we were told it was quite possible and the date was reset as of 12/27 or 12/28. It was clarified on the 23rd between 9-9:30 that yes all windows(including 3 extra we ordered) would be installed on Friday 12/27. We were fine with this arrangement. On the morning of 12/27 the installers showed up around 10:20 with only 5 windows and gave my husband a hard time for not having outlets where they needed them(we are doing major renovations) and let him know they were irritated to be working on their "holiday". Understandable that they did not want to work around Christmas but perhaps this is something to take up with their scheduling dept. and not the client. A few phone calls and all 8 windows were delivered and installed. My husband felt bad for them and tried to offer coffee and food, hoping to improve their attitude as "they seemed to really not want to be here". Overall we are quite happy and if we had a choice to have well installed windows with grumpy installers or poorly installed windows with friendly installers we would definitely choose the well installed windows. Due to the number of phone calls it took to complete this project I might look for anther window company, but based on the quality and installation of our new windows I would recommend them.

A representative of Emerald City visited our house. We needed 2 large windows and a sliding door rather than 5 windows. He said he will check if that was possible. He came back with a positive answer and provided a quote. We agreed to proceed and as we were trying to schedule the time for the work to be performed we got no answer. After 2 follow ups we were told that unfortunately they cannot honor the price quote (at the Angie's list price) and asked us to add additional $450. We would like to cancel and get the money back

They did a great job! The new windows look great, work great and will keep our house warmer during the winter. It is great to have windows that work again. I would describe Terry and John, the guys who installed our windows, as fanatics. I mean that in a good way. It was clear from a bunch of little things they did that they take tremendous pride in their work. I think that pride drives them to do a perfect job on their installations independent of good day/bad day, the customer, the job, etc. From watching them work I have a very hard time imagining them doing a so-so job on anything. I think if they got something less than just right they would feel compelled to make it just right - that is what I mean by fanatics. For example, they were fastidious; I think they may have left our house cleaner than they found it. And Russ, who came out to do the estimate could have given us a sales pitch for something fancier but kept all his suggestions down to earth. We ended up with windows that while modern, look fine with our 1928 house. When we are ready to replace the rest of the windows in our house we will call Emerald City Energy.

They were very professional, on time, and cleaned up the mess. We would use this company again.

Install 7 new windows, 5 on the big deal 1,999 and 2 additional 2'X 8' windows. I think the windows were low end. The install was good except the mess left on my new kitchen sink and countertops. And a few holes opened up in the calking around the windows, I assume from skimping.

We utilized the coupon through Angie's list and paid them the difference for the other windows. They did a fine job on installation but follow up left just a bit to be desired. We were told that they would call us back to check on how everything was and arrange for the last portion of the payment but we have yet to hear.

Took advantage of the big deal for window replacement. Had some scheduling issues due to the demand from this offer, but when we finally found a time the crew came on time and worked all day. They replaced 3 old windows and a slider, did a great job with the trim, and cleaned up perfectly afterwards. I would highly recommend emerald city.

This was a great experience. The owner understood that we wanted to change the look of the house. I appreciated when he first met with me that he listened to what I wanted rather than just pushing the most popular products. Then he brought in Greg and sons, an excellent team of installers and craftsmen. They too were patient as we researched and settled on the interior wrap design. Greg was kind enough to build a small model from a photograph I had taken of the inside design so I could actually manipulate the various wood pieces. That greatly sped up closure on the final 'look'. The work was done efficiently, effectively, on time, and on budget. A thorough clean up was done each day before leaving. We live on a golf course and continue to receive compliments on how much the new windows improved the look of the house. Simply put, it was a job well done.

Their pricing was very fair and we are a fan of the Milgard product. The sales person the person who came out to measure the installers and the people who came to help us with caulk issues all were very courteous and responsive. Therein lies the one difficulty we encountered - too many people and not enough communication among themselves. We got slightly different recommendations regarding trim from the sales person and person who measured. That was fine as we like how it turned out. The problem is that the installers were not provided with all of the information so could not complete the job in one day as expected. They didn't know we ordered new sills, so they had to go out and buy wood and were not able to plan for the extra time. Unfortunately they also could not reach the person who had done the measuring and made the recommendations so that delayed things a bit as well. They were very apologetic however and came out a few days later to finish. The caulking also was cracking and they fixed that as well. It began cracking again a few days later. We have been told that some cracking is normal, though what we experienced seems excessive for new windows. After multiple messages and calls and an email, the company sent someone out to fix it. On the day of and an hour after the person was scheduled to arrive, we called and learned there was another mix up but they sent someone else out right away. He was very nice as well. Long story short, everyone was very polite and easy going, the products are high quality, and our trim looks very nice, but the lack of internal communication made it a stressful process for us. We had another bid for doors that seems well priced, but after all of that we regrettably feel that it makes more sense to try someone else.

Overall, it went fine. There were some hiccups in the process (right size, wrong window) that were taken care of with my satisfaction and no undue stress. Ron and Kenny were top-notch.

I had a broken window and some windows with broken seals that we needed to replace. Chris from Emerald city came out to look at the windows and even brought his Pella Rep with him, the very next day. They were awesome and tried to help me resolve my window situation. My windows ,unfortunately, were weathervane that had gone out of business several years ago. Once they identified them and realized that they do not have the product to replace them, Chris did some research and found a company for me that might be able to help me. Anyway, Chris and Emerald City went above and beyond to help me and they weren't even going to make a dime off the job. I would hire them in a second !!!

It was great! I contacted the company via email, and mentioned I could be reached by email or phone. I was contacted by email to schedule a time to have our chimney cleaned within a few hours. I mentioned we wanted to get an inspection too as our fireplace firebox was cracked and we were worried about that. The tech arrived right in the estimated window given by the scheduler and he got right to work. Very personable tech, easy to understand, answered all my questions. Had our chimney cleaned and received an inspection that pointed out work that we had already been concerned about. We received a free estimate of what the repair masonry work would cost as well. The cleaning was thorough and I could not find any dirt/soot tracked through our house. (And that chimney was really dirty!) The tech was in and out of the house and took off his boots each time to prevent the carpets from being soiled. The cleaning time was right within the estimated window they provided as well. Very, very happy with the service and we will be following up to have the repair masonry work done to the firebox that was recommended.

After having secured three different bids for window replacement, all super service award winners, I chose Emerald City Energy. I could not have been more impressed with their professionalism. It took two days in the wind and rain. I would recommend this company to anyone who asked. Both the owner, Chris, and the installation crew were great.
