Community Plumbing Services offers free estimates and are very responsive. This is the most responsive home-industry organization I've ever worked with! Other plumbers were all booked up or required a hefty fee for an estimate. The owner showed up for the estimate the day after I called, and sent two employees to do the work. The employees were very polite and well groomed! They were available to come out and do the work within a day or two. They needed to open up a wall in the kitchen in order to replace the old 1978 outdoor faucet. A hiccup occurred when the work lead to another leak in the pipes, and more of the wall needed to be opened up. The extra time lead to about an extra $100 from the original estimate. They didn't have enough drywall material on them to patch up the wall that day. Another hiccup occurred when they went to shut off the outside water source to the house. The handle broke off. These are things that I fully expected with an older home, so I wasn't concerned about the extra cost, and was happy to see that it wasn't higher. We played phone tag for a day or two after the job as they needed to return with some dry wall that took follow-up on my part. However, one of the employees returned with the drywall within a couple of days prepared to get it put back in the wall (but turned out my renters wanted to do it, so he was able to leave a piece for them). I had some questions for him about how the new faucet worked (they put on a special kind that prevents freezing in the winter--I was very happy to learn that, not knowing such a thing existed before), and the water shut off valve that had gotten broken due to corrosion. (Wasn't the plumber's fault. The handle was corroded due to getting covered up by dirt over the years.) I got all my questions answered and am very satisfied with the work performed! I will definitely use them for my next project.
