The estimator was punctual, knowledgeable, and patient with all my questions. The work crew was diligent and dependable. The work was started and finished on time. No surprises or drama.

Estimator prompt and experienced. Mostly impressed with the work crew, these guys are what makes this company. Very skilled and very high quality work. He was honest about what extra work we needed and it was the right decision despite added cost.

We were trying to have this work done while we were on vacation, and Seattle Floor Service got us scheduled during that time. I had them install our upstairs floors when we first moved into our house 6 years ago. I was impressed by their speed and quality of the result, and knew I wanted them to do our work in the basement. Andy, our estimator, was great about listening to my ideas and working to update the bid through our planning process for the stairs and basement. He had some creative solutions to work with the concrete parts of the basement that were not flat. We did all the prep work (taking out the carpets, baseboard, etc) and there was some confusion about the stairs. Andy had said that they would be taken out down to the frame, and that it was fine for me to leave the tack strips in place since the treads would be replaced. However, when the installer arrived, he asked me to remove the strips, as he was just going to lay wood over the existing treads. This added some stress for me as we were leaving on vacation that day and I hadn't budgeted in time to do this work. Before we left, the installer did ask me what baseboard we were using, and I hadn't yet chosen one. Our upstairs has a simple single baseboard and I assumed we would be able to use something similar. When we arrived home, the floors looked great, but the gap between the wall and the floor required a baseboard and a baseshoe to cover it. There was not a clear conversation about the size of the baseboard and I hoped that the floors would have been installed to accommodate whatever we eventually decided on. That is the only reason for giving them a B grade on quality for this job. The wood is beautiful, and we are very happy with how it looks, especially the stairs and the ledge on the half wall.

We had used this company previously to have floors in a house we were selling refinished. They did an excellent job and so we did not hesitate to use them again in our home. The job went well with just some minor communication glitches and we couldn't be happier with the finished product. The carpenter who installed the moldings did an excellent job. The floor installer did some additional work which was not initially bidded and also installed a crawlspace door which looks beautiful. They do nice work.

They did excellent. they did a great job with clean up. They helped us out with saving money by letting us do things by ourselves. They were on time and very polite and easy to work with. The boss was funny.

The project was never started; therefore, never finished.

The work they did was very good. I was very pleased. They gave excellent results. They were nice enough to even repair some water damage to the floors.

I am satisfied with the final results. There were a few stressful moments, but Seattle Floor Service cares about their reputation, treated me right and made sure I was satisfied. I got several estimates and Seattle Floor Service's price was middle of the pack. They used top notch equipment and professional grade finish products that produced nice results. The water based finish is very smooth and even, showing no brush marks or swirls. During the initial consultation to work up an estimate, Fred did a good job of educating me about the pluses and minuses of Swedish finish vs. water base finish. Seattle Floor Service does both kinds. I chose water based finish and it is proving to be durable. I appreciate that after 24 hours there was virtually no odor as opposed to the Swedish finish in a previous house that stank very strongly for three days and continued to smell less intensely for a week after the job was completed. The total job took nine work days - five full days of sanding, then about two hours per day over four days to apply the stain coat and each of the three finish coats. The bedrooms had wall to wall carpeting and showed many cut marks in the wood along the walls from carpet installer's knives. The crew did a very good job of removing those flaws during the sanding process. There were two areas with quality issues that I pointed out and Seattle Floor Service readily agreed to fix those and had them fixed by the date quoted. They are very concerned about their reputation and never argued with me or tried to make excuses. Andy Taylor came to my house, let me point out the areas I was concerned about and simply asked "What will it take to make it right?" That was refreshing. I was never able to call and speak with someone directly, I always was forced to leave a message for Andy and wait for a call back. That annoyed me, but in fairness I always heard back from him within 24 hours. Things did not go perfectly, but they didn't give me any grief when I complained, took responsibility for making me happy and followed through. The floors look good and I am satisfied.

We are very happy with every aspect of the work that they did for us this time around. Not only did they arrive on time, but they finished a little ahead of schedule. They cleaned up and disposed of the debris.

I found them through the Seattle Home Owners Club. They gave us an estimate, out of the all that we received, theirs was the best. We needed the floors to be refinished because we are selling the house. The work was done on time. The house was left very clean. The floors look gorgeous.

The work went very well! The estimator (Andy) came out quickly, gave me estimates for a variety of scenarios I envisioned, and the prices were within 100 bucks of other companies I got estimates from. Andy's team came out within a week of the original estimate and was very flexible when a previously undiscovered hole in the floor emerged after the carpets were removed. The work was done very fast and the floors look fantastic. The company charged only a nominal fee for the unscheduled repair of the floor. Highly recommended!

Seattle Floors gave me a very competitive price and did a good job. The company was very responsive to my questions. I had few concerns, but when I did, the issue was addressed promptly and to my satisfaction. They also really helped me pick out what I wanted and could knowledgeable discuss the pros and cons of different kinds of wood.

Sanding, staining and finish were perfect, even along edges. There's even no reason to use quarter rounds along baseboards!

The floors look great. The guys did the job early, and completed the work quickly with good quality. The company was a little slow to get out the bid, but provided a highly competitive bid. Dust control was a little marginal, but this wasn't a huge deal. They gave us a modest, but appreciated, Angie's discount. These gents were enjoyable to work with.

Very Professional, Quality Work. Stayed on track and took special care to reduce dust. Craig also provided great advise to not stain the floors and leave them lighter. The light color of the red oak is beautiful and brightens up my home.

I called Seattle Floor because they had good reports on Angie's List. They were great! Very professional, responsive and the floor turned out fantastic. Even my contractor doing other work said it was the best floor work he had ever seen and was going to use them for another job. My only negative comment is that we scratched the floor and I have been trying to get them back to fix it - so far (three weeks later) that has not happened. Another good note is that with your finished floor, comes a lifetime supply of cleaner.

Again, this company meets and surpasses my expectations. The floor is simply beautiful! The professionalism shown by all workers includes courtesy and a positive attitude throughout the process (estimate; telephone contact; at the job site; and efforts to control the dust.) Gary and Joe were punctual and answered all my questions. Seattle Floor Service accommodated my time frame with only one week and half notice!

The service was stupendous. The final charge came in on bid. The worker showed up on time each day, and the job was completed as scheduled. The house was left very clean each day with all their equipment stored.

THEIR ESTIMATOR EXPLAINED THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SWEEDISH AND WATERBORNE FINISHES, AS WELL AS, OUTCOMES WITH TRYING TO MATCH THE EXISTING FLOOR WITH A NEW FLOOR. THEIR WORK WAS COMPLETED ON TIME AND THE HOUSE WAS CLEAN. THE FLOOR IS FULLY RESTORED.

WORK WAS QUICKLY SCHEDULED AND COMPLETED WITHIN 1 WEEK (THE TIME FRAME GIVEN). FLOORS LOOK GREAT AND CLEANUP OF DUST WAS EXCELLENT. 4 MISTAKES NEEDED TO BE REDONE & WERE DEALT WITH QUICKLY: 2 SUCCESSFULLY & 2 WITH SOME IMPROVEMENT.

THE WORKERS DID A GOOD JOB OF BLENDING IN THE NEW FLOORING WITH THE EXISTING FLOORS. THE REFINISHING WAS DONE AND THE STAIN MATCHED PERFECTLY TO THE CURRENT FLOORS.
