RICK YOUNG LANDSCAPING

Description of Work: We never connected up - no response to my last e-mail that stated my coupon was about to expire (in 20 days).....left my home phone number but did not hear anything. Unfortunately I have been so busy that I didn't get a chance to call during business hours. His service might be wonderful - we just didn't connect so my coupon has expired. I don't want to give an overall rating of F but you don't give an option of NA.

Description of Work: I had purchased an Angie's List big deal which stated that Rick Young Landscaping would do a landscape assessment and provide a detailed written plan for how I might go about updating my front yard. Right after I purchased the deal I was told the company was so swamped (this was April 2014) that it would be a while until the service could be provided. That was fine, so I asked to schedule for July. By July I had heard nothing further so I called back and did get scheduled. That was handled promptly enough. The actual assessment was a disappointment. There was no measuring done and the landscape plan consisted of an email listing shade tolerant plants. In the end, a waste of $50.

Description of Work: Rick came out and we toured the yard and talked about what I was interested in having done. He assured me that he would send me a report with his recommendations for all we discussed. He never did even though I emailed him to remind him. He sent me an email picture of a huge project for the back yard, which was nothing more than a photoshopped brick wall and trees. Very, very poor service! I don't recall the date or the amount, but it was a coupon this Spring, 2014.

Description of Work: Rick came out for a landscape assessment, and was very nice. He seemed to have a lot of good ideas, and understand what it was I was looking for. However, after meeting with me I had to email him to ask for the assessment and bid in the work. Then when I got the bid from him it did not seem to reflect much of what we discussed, and he never followed up. In retrospect, I would simply get free bids from landscaping companies versus paying for an assessment.

Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal offered by Rick Young Landscaping for a garden rejuvenation evaluation and a written schedule for plant/tree recommendations for my property. The deal offered had promised up to 2 hours of consultation, a survey of existing landscape, and suggestions regarding plant removal, transplanting and pruning, hardscaping, irrigation, and lighting, as well as suggesting the addition of new trees, shrubs and ground covers needed to enhance my landscape and increase privacy. Also promised was a written plant schedule along with an estimate for the purchase and installation of the plant selections. | |Rick Young arrived at my home but seemed uninterested in following through on the services promised in this Big Deal offer. He reluctantly agreed to send me a plan for a part of my landscape area, but failed to even do that. While I understand that $49 is a small amount, the services promised were of great value to me and I am extremely disappointed in this provider's attitude and his failure to honor his offer.

Description of Work: He drew a picture of what he would like to do to replace plantings that were lost over the Winter. |We felt his price was very high to replace the plantings . We decided on another provider.

Description of Work: Used for consultation of one hour and then had landscape design developed, but haven't decided yet as to whether or not we'll move forward with actual landscaping project.

Description of Work: Rick met with me as promised for 1 hour. the Crew cleaned out the garden as planned and they worked more than 4 hours that we had agreed to, but he never came back to plant the grass. The garden areas were all cleaned out an there is few things that came back, so I will plant the grass myself. There was one plant I had wanted to keep, but because he started before he knocked on the door, I did not get to tell him to save that one plant, even though I had pulled it from the ground. I thought his advice was very good and his crew did a good job. they worked long hours and did a good job. I don't usually hire outside services.
