To say I was surprised by the amount of work these guys managed to get done is an understatement. For a very fair price including the haulaway, they managed to get more of the overgrowth out of my back yard than I have been able to do in several years. They have earned a customer for life, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Northeast Landscaping Services for any major outdoor cleanup job. I live next to a forest and the back yard was in desperate need of major work to bring the vines and blackberries udner control.

This job was through an Angie' List "Big Deal", and we got two men to work a full day to do anything we needed in the yard. They cleaned up ground cover and ivy that had gotten terribly overgrown, and did pruning of shrubs as indicated. Both worked steadily the full day and we are happy with what they accomplished, although much remains to be done. A bit more effort to remove the actual roots on the ground cover areas would have been nice, but we know it's hard to get them all, and we'll hit them with Roundup to finish the job. The main thing is, a lot of the backbreaking work got done, so we can take it from here. One thing to be aware of: their price does NOT include getting rid of the yard waste produced. They charge an additional $40/cubic yard to dispose of it. We elected to have it left on property, and have put out part of it each week with our regular yard waste trash pickup, and it's almost gone now. We're happy enough with them to consider their services for the lawn in the near future.

Eventually I had to return the deal. They refused to come out do the work on multiple days, though the deal said work can be performed on multiple days and can be used for outdoor projects. But in reality they just wanted to send 5 people for 1 day to pick up leafs and do a fall clean up. Sounds totally absurd to me

There was great communication through angle's list notifications ahead of time - possible extra costs, what I should provide, scheduling, etc. When they came to do the work, there were two employees. We did a quick walk through, and I communicated what I wanted that might not be very obvious, and they also made some suggestions. There was more than enough work for the 16 hours I hired them for, so they told me which items might have to be lower priorities. Nonetheless, by the end of the day, all of it was completed, and expertly so. We recently purchased our house and the front and back yards were not looking good. It was the ugliest house on the street! The guys really tailored the work to fit the style of the house, and it looks really great now. My neighbours really appreciated how they cleaned up. They didn't leave debris on the street or around the house, but picked up everything and took it with them to dump. They charged extra to dump the debris, but with 16 hours of yard work, we wouldn't have been able to handle the amount of debris our yard produced. Two months later, with no maintenance (hey it rains a lot), it still looks great. We did get a great deal through Angie's List, but I don't feel in any way that they did less work or could have done any better. I will definitely hire them again.

Excellent. From start to finish in terms of providing right quote - information on additional work that we did not thought of but was essential. Very hardworking and professional personnel! We would work with them again!

The crew were prompt in arriving, and immediately got to work while I walked thru the details of the job with the foreman. They were clean and professional and I had a printout of the work list that I wanted completed although we also walked thru the job and work areas. Several things in hindsight that might help others and that I'll use for next time: 1) I should have sent the full work list to the scheduler prior to the appointment because I'd wanted to have the front driveway pressure washed but they didn't have a washer with them. We had one so they used ours to complete the work but someone who didn't would want to make sure that the crew knows that they need to bring one in advance! 2) They didn't know that I would ask to have the walkways sprayed for weeds or the grass fertilized (and how much sq footage of both needed to be covered so we used what I had stored away to supplement what they had with me. Again, another note to me to make sure I proactively provide the work list to the coordinator days before they arrive so they have some idea what I expect. 3) Even though the coordinator doesn't ask for details on the job, send the work list over early!! So they can have a list of the items/supplies they may need for a particular job. The yard looked SO good when the crew was done. They were done early and called me to show me pics of the job that was done (I'd had to go to work) and asking if I needed anything else or if it looked as expected. I arranged to have them remove all yard debris for the extra charge so it was as if magic had happened around our house and no clean up on my part! The only gap in communication that we had was with the garden boxes. I think the foreman thought I just wanted the veggies in the garden boxes cut back vs. fully removed. That was a minor thing from my perspective as they totally saved me (and my back) by removing all of the corn stalks/roots from the corn patch and I may not have been totally clear when talking about what I wanted done. No question that we would use the company again. Any gaps in the communication may not have occurred if I spoke Spanish but they were so good to work with that that's also a minor point.

"A" ratings all the way across! Jose and Eric showed up a little after 8 AM and, with a little help from a few people who stepped in for the last hour, completely transformed our yard. I am confident that we got every minute of the 20 hours we paid for. I have never seen 2 people work so hard for such an extended period of time. We did not really know what to expect for our $750 and worried that our expectations might be unrealistically high. For example, we have one huge tree-like Camellia and a large evergreen hedge, both of which we wanted trimmed way, way back. We also had three large flower beds that we wanted completely cleared out. One of the beds had an already-too-established maple tree (volunteer) and 2 of the beds had large nasty looking Pyracantha hedges. We were hoping they might attempt to dig up some of those deep roots if they had time. They ended up doing all of that and more. To give you some insight as to how conscientious they were, Jose came up to me midway through the work and apologized that they would not be able to remove all of the Pyracantha roots because some were growing deep under the foundation of the house. Wow! We ended up getting way more than we expected and were very happy with the way they left the yard in pristine condition. We will definitely use them in the future. I also strongly recommend having Carlos (the owner) come out and look around at the yard before the work gets scheduled. We found his recommendations very helpful and I think it helped that we were able to prioritize what was most important to us.

They arrived promptly on time, and they were willing to come early because I had to leave for work. They did everything I asked and more. I would definitely use them again. My yard looks wonderful!

The crew arrived half an hour after the appointed time, but once on the scene they got right to work. I gave them several pages of photos that we had marked up showing what was to be pruned, removed, and raked/cleaned up. They followed our instructions to the letter. They were professional and easy to work with. After I gave my initial instructions I went to work and everything was done properly when I returned.

Two guys showed up. Very courteous (I believe their names were Carlos and Jose). Worked hard (despite the poor weather). I credit them with saving my back as I had been attempting to do what they ultimately came to complete for me. The yard is at a point now where I can take it from here. Thanks again!

I purchased a Big Deal for North East Landscaping Services in September and scheduled the service for April, the latest I could use it. I wanted the lawn fertilized in spring, not fall. They were willing to do this. At the beginning of April I sent an email reminder to them; I didn't want it to get missed. They came out to the house a few days earlier than our scheduled date and I was not present but this did not cause me any problems. I was satisified with their service all the way around

It was okay. There was just a little miscommunication about exactly what I wanted done. I just think they didn't do exactly what I wanted them to do.

They did a good job. 2 workers arrived on time and did what they said they would do.

Our yard needed renovation which included thatching, aerating, reseeding, fertilizing, applying lime and top dressing with mulch. They were professional and thorough. We are very pleased with their attention to detail and the results of the renovation.

Used an Angies List coupon. I was contacted by text and they worked with me to arrange Saturday apt tot fit my schedule.. Arrived on correct date, but about 6 hrs later than scheduled. Polite. Worked fast. Lawn received one pass with the aerator machine, which left aeration holes spaced about 12" apart, more than twice what is recommended. It seems that recommended spacing would have required several passes. However, in their defense, my lawn was very dry and compact, making it hard for the machine to penetrate. Upon further research, I should have watered the lawn deeply to soften it before having it aerated, which would have made it easier to work on. I would suggest in the future that they recommend prior deep watering when setting up the appt..

It is really hard to assess how effective it was after only a month. I could see the holes for aeration but couldn't tell if the lawn was fertilized or not. However, they seemed to be a reliable provider.

I was not there when this service was done, but when I returned I saw evidence that my lawn had been aerated, but after carefully examining my lawn, I saw no evidence that any fertilizer was applied. When I asked the service provider about this, he stated that the fertilizer was black colored (I guess he was implying that it would blend in with the soil?). I think I would have noticed black-colored fertilizer and I saw no evidence of this nor felt anything in my lawn. I should have asked him what brand of fertilizer he uses. He instructed me to water my lawn and I would see the difference. After seeing no difference in the condition of my lawn, I fertilized my lawn myself. So, needless to say, I am disappointed that it seems I did not receive the complete service I paid for.

We did not use this provider because the $600 estimate was exorbitant. My husband and I did it ourselves in 4 hours. In this case the convenience of someone else doing the work did NOT outweigh the cost.

It went beautifully! The crew was just the right size to get the work done efficiently and not be on top of themselves in my small yard. Every one was professional and friendly, and seemed genuinely involved in helping to improve my landscaping.

They showed up prior to our agreed upon time so by the time I got home they had come and gone. They did a good job aerating the front and back yards and although I didn't see any fertilizer pellets they may have used another method of fertilizer I can see, but in any affect after a few rains my lawn is looking quite lush and green. I'd say they did a good job, although I would've preferred to have been there while they did the service.
