First off, we had to choose a granite that we didn't even like as they didn't have much selection that would work. Then we had to have a seam in a horrible location. Then, they didn't line up and plan;the patterns and colors for the seams before they cut the granite. Then they were left with a seam that looked horrible. It looks like 2 totally different styles of granite. Even there own crew thought it looked really bad but the on-site Manager told the crew to install it anyway. Then, after weeks of complaining and weeks of them ignoring us until we went to the store yelling, they said we could pick out a new full piece of granite and they would install it. We learned days later they would install new granite but at OUR expense. They kept saying "You approved the granite slabs". That part is true but they should take responsibility during the installation to make sure the seams match as best as possible. They also refused to polish the seams. They tried to make me sign that portion of their contract when I purchased the granite but I refused to initial that portion. Then, during the installation, they again refused to polish the seams. The seams are very rough and obvious to the eye and to the touch. We canceled our VISA payments but they said they were going to put a lean on our house so we had to pay them. They even said that since we are planning on selling the house, just to put flyers over the horribly obvious seams. That was their answer. This was one of the worst companies that I have ever done business with. I also think Angies' list should not be offering companies like this. I trusted Angies' List. I now doubt all companies on Angies' List. I have just as much luck using search engines online trying to find a good company.

Terrible. At first everything was great. The showroom looked decent and the service in the show room was great. But after handing over money to them, it got bad quick. We were on a 2 week vacation and were assured it would be completed during that time. It took another 2 months past the date scheduled. We got a hodge-podge of cabinets, none of which were the same shade of white. There were items that never got completed that I had to do myself. Live electrical wires hid behind molding uncapped, an electrical outlet half covered...down the middle. The contractors involved were not good quality, nor were the materials. The billing lady threatened to put a lein on my home if they did not receive final payment (which of course cannot be done without a judgment in court) when they were still not done with the project. I had a number of things replaced by professionals since that time such as hardware, etc. IN THE ENDand gt;and gt;and gt;YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!! It was the worst experience I have ever had with a business. I would recommend steering clear of JC Marble products and contractor services.

Description of Work: We ordered through the JC Marble Expo in Des Moines. The installation crew arrived promptly at the appointed time. Very polite and respectful of our home. They listened to our concerns and questions and answered everything to our satifaction. We did a lot of price comparisons and this company offered the best price as well as best selection of product and could install within a week of ordering. Very satified with the outcome. Our kitchen countertops are beautiful. Many thanks to Grace who handled our order. She is very knowlegable and offered good suggestions during the selection and order process. This was a very good experience all around. We will recommend this company to our friends.

Overall, the project was completed on-time and within budget. It started with several meetings with the JC Construction Group Project Superintendent and Project Manager. We discussed what we wanted in a new kitchen. They were attentive to our concerns and desires. They made excellent suggestions on how to help us meet our desired goals without adding time or expense to the project. They developed several plan layouts for our consideration. We developed our final team project layout. This was a fun, exciting phase of the project as we could now picture our new kitchen in our minds. Throughout the life of remodel project we met at least weekly with the Project Superintendent and Project Manager for phase completion and upcoming phase discussions. The Project Superintendent met with us several times to view their vast granite inventory and she helped us pick granite slabs to fit with our new kitchen's color scheme. We now think she had a better vision of what we wanted than we did. We used her design ideas to select the floor color and pattern. Looks great. At the completion of each work day, the Project Manager removed all tools and construction materials. He vacuumed the site each night. It was always clean and we experienced no accumulation of dust in the adjoining rooms. We only had one slight delay to the project. The company making the new window for us forgot to schedule the manufacture of our window. It was a 10 day delay. We will use JC Construction Group on our next remodel project. We will be contacting them shortly to help us remodel a bathroom.
Description of Work: Our kitchen was totally remodeled by the JC Construction Group. This involved demolishing the old kitchen; installing drywall and new plumbing; building and installing a new window; providing and installing new cabinets and flooring; providing and installing new granite countertops; installing new light fixtures; installing tile; and painting kitchen, dining area, and entry way. We had an excellent experience with the JC Construction Group.

We purchased a new house with a 70's kitchen badly in need of upgrading. We visited the JC Marble showroom and like the price point of their wood cabinet and granite countertop products. They have a contractor side, called and quot;JC Constructionand quot;, that we contracted with to do the design of the new kitchen, demolition and install. The design (using CAD computer software) was fine, although we caught a mistake in the models of cabinet used - the measurements didn't add up, and two were the wrong size. The construction manager, who did the design, was a bit argumentative and patronizing when informed of this error. At first she refused to believe it, but we walked through it with her until she realized that she had indeed made an error. Demolition went fine. But then the install was not completed on schedule initially - supposedly it would take one day, but was only about half finished after the first day. It was very difficult to get responses from the construction manager who was occupied working at home shows. (As far as we could tell, she was the only person to contact with the authority to do anything - and only one installation worker, for that matter.) Finally it was done and the countertop installers came in and did their work as well. Unfortunately, the cabinet installation was done very poorly. There were numerous chips and gauges in the wood (some quite sizable), mismatched color on exposed back panels, and drawer faces that just pulled off the drawer. Pull-out shelve units weren't installed, just left loose in the cabinet. Some wall cabinets were hung using only a single anchor screw. Adjoining units were misaligned and none of the doors had been adjusted to hang evenly. All in all, we were shocked that the installer could claim to be and quot;doneand quot;. We had floor installers scheduled to come in next who would not be able to start until the cabinets were completely done, but once again, it was hard to get a hold of the manager and schedule a time for her to come back out. Finally, the manager did come. She agreed that there were numerous defects, apologized and agreed to have them fixed. (Though she did blame the factory, rather than the installer, which might have been true about some of the problems but clearly not all of them.) To her credit the installer came back the next day and did a pretty good job repairing things, including some that we didn't really think were fixable. The final product is not too bad - for the cheap price, the cabinets are solid wood (no veneer), pretty good looking and seem to be holding up fine. If you examine closely, though, you can see some evidence of the problems from installation. The countertops are solid and the installers of those (I believe different people than the cabinet guy) did a great job. Overall, I would never use JC Construction again, but I might buy cabinets and definitely countertops from them for installation by someone else. And I might have them install countertops since that seems to be handled by a different group.

JC Marble and Granite had a great selection of granite to choose from - we got some really unique and beautiful granite that tied together the color of the new cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, and wood flooring. Darlene spent plenty of time with me looking at marble samples and offered helpful suggestings. She escorted me in the supply yard and helped me to select just the right pieces needed for my kitchen. At her suggestion, I worked with Tile Lines in Tukwila to design the back splash. The granite was installed in one day - super fast and efficient work and the seams are closely matched. The granite had a few minor chips that I noted after installation - Darlene had the workers fill and polish so you couldn't tell they were ever there. My kitchen looks fantastic and the staff at JC Marble and Granite really made it happen. They are reliable professionals that take pride in their work.

We had difficulty understanding the sales lady and the quote was scribbled on a piece of note paper. The encounter did leave us with a high degree of confidence as to doing business with them.

Description of Work: The above dollar amount is for our entire remodel! "When I first started thinking about remodeling, the thought was overwhelming. We attended the home show in Seattle and met Darlene. She was actually working for another company at the time. She came to meet with us at our home but we delayed our decision to remodel and decided to wait a bit. Finally we decided to move forward so the first thing we did was try to find Darlene. Unfortunately she had left her previous company and we weren't privy to what company she moved to. Low and behold we decided to go to the home show again and believe it or not, there was Darlene! Thank goodness! I can't begin to express my Thanks to her as the Project Manager for our remodel. We ended up having extensive work done and during the entire process she stayed on top of the construction, the contractor, the sub-contractors, the suppliers and, most importantly, did whatever it took to make sure our remodel was completed on time. I am a tough nut to please, as I tend to be a perfectionist, but through it all, Darlene worked with me on a daily basis, never lost her patience and helped me stay focused on what I needed to get accomplished so the job wasn't delayed.Darlene also recommended the companies we should do business with. Ian Jones, our Interior Designer/Painter, is the best there is. He had great ideas and when they all came together, our colors look awesome and the job he did was spectacular. In fact, we are going to hire him this summer to paint the outside of our home. I don't know if I've ever seen tile installed any better than the company that installed ours. Again, Darlene's recommendation! I need to comment on Grace and Henry, the owners. We picked out a very difficult granite to match up to. The first install wasn't what we had expected. Believe it or not, Grace and Henry not only stepped up to have it reinstalled, the integrity they showed was impressive. They were there to make sure the job was completed to our utmost satisfaction and honestly, it is!We are very, very pleased with the outcome of our remodel and would highly recommend Darlene, Brian, Ian and all others that were a part of it."

Amazing service and savings. After going to one of they're two showrooms, and choosing our granite, they came out on the day of the appointment and installed same day. Considerable savings because their granite is 3/4" thick instead of the usual 1 1/2". It has a factory glued on edge (bullnose or squared) which gives the appearance of 1 1/2" and you can hardly see the seam. Because the granite is only 3/4", customers have to provide them with 3/4" plywood for the supporting underlayment, which they then cut. After arriving with the required granite slabs (corners or straight) they then check countertops for level, then cut and fit the plywood. The granite is then cut with hand tools (in my driveway no less) and installed the same day. Very courteous crew who did their jobs well. They cleaned up nicely when they were done. Even the 1st Ave store manager was here helping. Very impressive start to finish, no premeasure and waiting for weeks, this is same day service and install. Our countertops are beautiful and affordable, they even did a window sill for us that wasn't part of the original plan. My wife and I are very happy with this company, they did a beautiful job.
Description of Work: Installed 22 feet of granite countertops and backsplash in our new rebuilt kitchen. 1 day install.
