Showed up for estimate and all work sessions on time and ready to work. Worked late so repairs would be completed before scheduled guests arrived. Style is very pleasant and works very quickly... much faster than other electrical contractors we have used. Does a good job of explaining problems and his recommended approach to fix them. All problems were fixed when he finished. Repairs have a full 3 year parts and labor warranty. Very satisfied overall with this contractor.
Description of Work: Trouble shot and located circuit fault that involved wiring in garage, attic, 2 halls and three rooms. Corrected problems that required adding wire to circuit breaker box, adding wire to the attic, and fishing wires in several walls. Added wall outlet. Work required openings in two walls. Per agreement, repair of dry wall was done by owner. Rewired lighting in furnace room and added wall switch. Very thoroughly cleaned up after work was complete. Work took most of three days.

The installation went great. Dave put in two convectair heaters and the installation was very smooth. Dave is very efficient and does excellent work and had completed the installation very quickly. I had had a discussion with Dave on a previous visit about heating systems and he told me he did that type of work and had told me about these heaters. They each have their own thermostat and heat very quickly and evenly. I am very happy with the work Dave does and will have him back on many more projects. Wendy is wonderful and kept me informed about everything up to the installation. I am so glad I found Mister Sparky.
Description of Work: Two new convectair heaters were placed in my home, one in the kitchen and one in the living room.

We've used Mr. Sparky for a number of projects in the past. I like their flat rate fees for discrete jobs. The ceiling fans were more expensive to install than I expected--but it was all disclosed up front. The installer worked with great care, and I am confident that they were installed safely.

Dave and his team spared no attention to detail. They worked quickly and efficiently - especially in spaces where we had yet to clean and renovate. At the time they did the bulk of the work, the attic had yet to be vented (and was a million degrees, and dirty) and the crawl space was like a scene from the Temple of Doom. This did not phase them in the slightest - their work in these cramped areas was impeccable. Dave knew what a major expense this was and really went the extra mile for us - looking back, we got such incredible value for the amount of money we invested in the house. We have some smaller projects that we will bring him back for in the near future - and when we do our major renovation, he will be on the team to ensure the expansion is just as solid as the house is now. I write this report months after the work was done - my apologies to Angie's List for the tardiness - but the one thing I can add at this late juncture - four months in, the work is wonderful - we have never blown the electrical box when using most every outlet at the same time (we have in-wall electric heat that purrs when we have the microwave, laundry, hair dryer and TV/stereo all humming).
Description of Work: We bought a very old house which came with a critical caveat in the inspection report: do not move in until you fully overhaul the electric. So, within days of taking possession, we had Mr. Sparky's Dave Lind in the house to do a complete electrical assessment. He is very punctual, personable, professional and most importantly - honest. He told us what needed to be done right away, what should be done soon and what we could put off for a while. His estimates included a handsome Angie's List discount. We decided to subtract some of the "wants" from our list and focused on the needs. He did the majority of the work in a three day period with at least six quicker visits before and after. Here's the main list of what he accomplished: Disable and remove the old, very dangerous junction box for the house (the insurance company labeled it high-risk for fire). Install a state-of-the-art junction box on a different side of the house, in an easy access, low profile place we chose together. This box is big enough to handle the eventual expansion we have planned for the house. Move the electrical connection from the rear of the house to this new location on the side of the house. We did this because the power lines came onto the rear deck at chin level (very dangerous) and the low-hanging lines also destroyed the view of the back yard (facing Puget Sound). In this new location, you can't see the power lines at all. Rewire the entire house - every outlet and lighting fixture. It's a small house, but still, it was a big job. Best of all, he organized the junction box panels so that it fit our needs (in-wall electric heaters all on separate lines, so we can shut them off when we need to clean them). Install four new GFCI circuits in the kitchen. Replace the bathroom ceiling light and vent fan. Run a power line to the furnace in the crawl space. Run power line and light fixture to the attic. Install an in-wall power bank of 8 outlets so we would not need to daisy chain all of our home entertainment electronics into a single outlet. Install new electric lights in the kitchen, mud room and deck. Repair a ceiling light in the living room. Remove old knob & tube remnants from attic and crawl space. Remove an unsightly electrical outlet that emerged through the floor of the guest bedroom. Install a giant Euro-style electrical outlet to accommodate our Bosch washer/dryer. Arrange and appear for the city's glowing inspection of his work. Re-inspect the attic after Clean Crawls cleaned and replaced the insulation. Whew - I might be forgetting some things - but those were the big ones.

The company scheduled the work for the day following our phone call. The workman, Style, arrived as promised, carefully inspected what we wanted done, clarified a number of details we hadn't thought of, provided a price for the job and got to work. He was a meticulous worker and cleaned up after himself. He had to come back the next day for some follow-up details as it was a bigger job than it sounded like on the phone. The results are great!
Description of Work: Wired and installed an outdoor post light and timer for the light (this was a somewhat complicated job). Also, moved an outdoor switch that turns the waterfall on in our pond, and put in an additional outdoor outlet.

The owner came out, gave us an estimate and even said he could do the job right then. We hired him to put in two outlets for 4 plugs and a light switch in addition to some fluorescent lighting. He came that afternoon and started work. From the beginning he was friendly, courteous, and very professional. I told him why we wanted the electrical set up the way we did and he went above and beyond the call of duty by installing an extra 2 plug outlet for us. He also brought some nice lights for the ceiling, that were a step above what I'd originally specified because the quality was better. He asked if we wanted white or ivory covers for the outlets and switch. For me though, the best thing was that he not only made sure he got all the old dangling wires removed as much as possible, he cleaned up his own mess!! I've seen contractors come in and do the work, but leave the mess, he does not do that. He gave us a two year warranty in case something goes wrong, but I seriously doubt we'll ever need it. If I ever need an electrician again, he will be my first choice, and possibly my only choice.

Originally asked them to install a brand new replacement fan with housing, which would have involved climbing into the attic to properly mount it. Their standard rate for this is $479 plus taxes and service fee. But the technician recognized the existing fan as one with an available rebuilt motor, which ended up costing $247 plus taxes and service fees. The end result was much cheaper and sounds and looks as if it was an all-new fan.

I have a small house and did not like the baseboard heaters plus the one wall forced-air heater. I knew there were better options out there, but kept getting the same answers from heating vendors. Until I found Dave at Eagle Electric/Mr. Sparky. He already knew about some of the new European style electric heaters that take up little space, heat efficiently and keep the room temperatures stable. He spent a good amount of time going over all that I wanted done and gave me an immediate estimate. There was quite a lot on my list. Their prices are listed on a pre-printed price sheet, so it made it easy to pick and choose tasks and to prioritize them. There were no surprises in price after the work was done. Dave is very professional, polite, communicative and responsive. So are the people on his team, especially his wife Wendy who runs the office and keeps all the details organized. It was actually a pleasure to have Dave here working. Such a nice guy. He had great suggestions and cost-saving solutions. Most of all, I love my new heaters!!! They are very effective and totally quiet and have given me back so much wall space in my little house. There was some confusion when it came to getting the programmer to communicate with all four heaters properly, which delayed that aspect of it. But this is when you find out the real integrity of a person. Dave worked diligently to communicate with the manufacture and local rep, trying a few different recommended solutions, all the while returning here after hours so that I didn't need to miss more work. In the end, it was an omission of a step in the manual, translated from the original French or German, that was the glitch and it was easily solved after Dave brought the local rep here to troubleshoot. There's always something that doesn't go perfectly when you're working on an older house or with new technology. It's how the company handles those times that tells you of their true nature. Dave and Wendy and the guys who work with them are above reproach and I recommend them heartily! I've already called them back out to install a new outlet for a new washer and dryer and the response was so quick I couldn't believe it. I've recommended them to several of my friends.
Description of Work: Take out wall base heaters and install new European-style electric heaters; replace wiring and add 3-prong grounded outlets in several rooms; install two outlets on outside of house, wiring for some new lighting features; add timers to some lights; inspect all existing wiring and fix some problems; change out ceiling fixture and porch light, install all-house surge protector; and probably some other things I'm not remembering right now.

Wonderful experience overall! What I initially had in mind was to fix the circuit in our garage apartment, install 2 outdoor receptacles on our deck and install two outdoor deck heaters. After carefully reading the documentation for the heaters my serviceman, Style, pointed out several safety issues (like these heaters MUST be used under cover & that they MUST be placed 5 feet away from any water source like our hot tub). He provided several different options for what I could do, the "finished price" including parts and labor for each option and discussed with me the pros and cons of the options. I was able to decide on a solution immediately and he quickly got to work. While he was working he found a couple of small "safety" issue such as my breaker panel base not being screwed down and my hot tube motor not being grounded. He showed me exactly what was wrong, explained why it was a safety issue and fixed it without any additional cost outside of the agreed to estimate! As I stated in the beginning this was a very good experience, I got what I needed from the service call within budget and very quickly. My service man Style Voir was very professional, helpful and informative.

I needed to have a whole-house fan installed and hopefully re-use an existing switch for that purpose. I also needed an additional outlet installed outside to run the blower/edger etc. Dave showed up right when they said he would. He was very courteous and professional and was a pleasure to work with. We'll definately send more business his way soon I feel that the money I paid for the work was more than fair. While there, Dave also talked to us about some lighting ideas. During the fan installation there was some carpentry work that needed to be done. Dave doesn't do carpentry work but he knew somebody who did and he co-ordinated with a guy to come over and help him get the job finished. It was an added expense (about $65, I think), but it was worth it and I liked the way they worked together to get the job done. I really apreciated that Dave helped out with the rough-in of the fan too. I was worried that I'd end up with a fan that was wired, but not completely installed/usable. Very nice attention to detail and going the extra mile. In the end, I got my fan and outlet installed and I was able to patronize a local electrician/handyman. We will definately go with Eagle/Mr.Sparky again. It was a pain-free and pleasant experience. Keep up the great work Dave! (and Mike!)

Greg came right on time, was extremely pleasant and had a great attitude start to finish. He explained everything he was doing and let me know about a few problems with some of the heaters I had purchased (which I so appreciated, since he could have just installed them to get the job done quicker and risked a fire hazard!). He was very clear on the estimate and how the job would be priced. Then, when some of the tasks were easier or took less time than expected, he brought the price down even though he didn't have to. Overall, I was really impressed with the knowledgable and friendly sevice!

Technician Gary Strode checked through the circuits in our electrical panel and replaced the GFI outlets outside. He also found that our kitchen outlet GFI switch was broken and had been short circuiting and melting the switch, so he replaced that one too. He recommended that we put the microwave on its own circuit. As he was leaving, I asked what it would cost to replace a 2 plug outlet with a 4 plug outlet and scheduled him to return the next Friday on Jan 22. He came promptly and completed the job. He was friendly to our dog and even vacuumed up his mess from enlarging the outlet.
Description of Work: We had some outside outlets that weren't working and an outlet in the kitchen that kept tripping the circuit breaker. We asked him to check out the wiring because we just had the outdoor outlets replaced 2 years ago by another company. Also, we could see that when we run the microwave and other electrical appliances in the kitchen, the lights in the dining room dim.

Ryan, the electrician, arrived shortly after the beginning of the 2-hour appointment window I was given. As I had been informed when I scheduled the appointment, Ryan went over with me all the work I wanted done and then prepared a firm, written bid. I approved the bid and he started immediately. He got the work done quickly (considering where all the wires had to be routed) and efficiently, finishing in about 4-1/2 hours. Ryan's attention to detail is meticulous (even all the outlet cover plate screws were perfectly aligned), everything worked perfectly, and he left my garage broom-clean when he finished. I watched the entire process and was very impressed. I'll be sure to ask for Ryan the next time I need a skilled electrician. The price was more than I was expecting given some of my past experiences hiring handyman types for electrical work, but well worth it in light of the quality of Ryan's work.

It was a pleasure to work with the Mr. Sparkey team. They worked very hard and the project was completed on budget. Even though they ran into some unexpected issues because our house had some quirky wiring that was done by the previous homeowners (who likely didn't know much about electrical), they still stuck to the initial budget despite having to work some extra long days to correct these hazards. Needless to say I feel much safer knowing that we have up-to-date wiring that was done by very knowledgeable people. Dave and Wendy (the owners) were wonderful every step of the way as was their team of employees. I would highly recommend this company and would gladly work with them again.

Our remodel was 15 months in duration and completed in three phases...overall it went extremely well. We do not believe any project of this duration and with our modifications would not be free of "issues." Any issues that did occur were handled professionally and quickly. We interviewed several companies and we choose Eagle Electric due to their business philosophy, Angie's List reviews, set pricing schedule, thorough bids and, Greg, their lead electrician. In our opinion, Greg, is an unique employee in the trade's industry. He has great customer service and listening skills, very detailed bids, helpful suggestions and a work ethic that demonstrates "do it by code and do it right." Throughout this remodel, we were fortunate to establish a relationship with, David Lind, one of the owner's. It was refreshing to have an owner who was not only certified in the trade, but works hard to have a successful business. He demonstrated this by teaching and educating us about the electrical trade, being receptive to comments and suggestions and his responsiveness to issues by providing solutions that satified the customer. "Keeping your nest safe" is their company slogan and we truly believe that "our nest" is safe and we want to thank you for being a part of our dream for our "new home." We look forward to having you install the hot tub when we are ready.

The workman came early in the prearranged window and called in advance. He wore shoe covers and was careful in handling anything in the house. He was polite and informative. He explained costing carefully and clearly. The situation was such that in my estimation many contractors would have tried to have spent more time ans charged more money. I was very pleased with the service.
