It was a great experience - highly recommend them and will use them again when needed.

They returned my call immediately and were accomodating to me. They came in under bid. They did a great job on the service and cleaning up after themselves. I couldnt have been more pleased.

I was earlier informed by another electrician that the exhaust fan needed to be replaced, the ballast and bulbs replaced, as well as an outside time for the fan. The estime was for more than $400. I asked to have just the ballast/bulbs replaced but both items were not available at that time. I refused futher services. I called Shocking Difference and they showed up the next day. The ballast was changed and the bulbs did not need to be replaced; and the fan and timer were not broken but just needed to be cleaned up. All this for $180. Service was excellent!

We're thrilled with the new lighting that transformed our entry way into a bright, welcoming area. We're also very appreciative of the honest assessment of complexity of adding new lighting in hallway--didn't inappropriately encourage or lead us to a potentially expensive and messy project. All interactions with the company--from Daryl's inspection and estimate to the friendly and punctual repair crew--were positive, respectful and professional. This is an outstanding company that prides itself on excellent customer service!

We had four electrical contractors come out and make bids for this work. We chose Shocking Difference mainly because Darrell Furgison (Owner) worked with us to reduce costs and clearly was thinking about how the job could be done. His bid estimate was very reasonable and he didn't try to pile on additional work. He also took time to show us the best lay out for the kitchen lighting we wanted installed. Darrell and one of his electricians showed up on time and immediately laid tarps on our flooring and counter tops to help capture plaster dust and other debris. A laser sighting tool was used to align the kitchen lights and it also gave us a chance to see and change where the lights would be set before holes were put into the ceiling. The work went quickly and by noon the lights were installed. Our original bathroom fans ran on a single 15 amp circuit. The new fans required two separate 20 amp circuits. Darrell was able to use some our existing wiring to make these circuits--a nice money saver for us. At noon two more of Darrell's electricians arrived and helped finish the job. All of our old fixtures, packing materials, and other debris were removed and the job areas were cleaned up. We were very happy with the outcome and would recommend Darrell and his crew to anyone thinking about doing similar work.

They arrived on time and worked at a good pace. They were very friendly, professional and great to work with. They didn't pressure us to hire them for other work we need done.

I am upgrading my kitchen with new cabinets and counter tops and needed outlets in a part of my kitchen that currently doesn't have cabinets moved up to counter height level from floor level so they can still be accessed and used once cabinets and counter tops are installed. I called Shocking Difference to get a quote and they were immediately responsive to my request and I had Darrell the owner come out to my house for a quote the following day. After meeting with Darrell and reading the responses on Angie's list about this company I decided to hire them without seeking other quotes for the work. The following week, Derek and his apprentice came out and moved both outlets that needed to be moved, and were in and out in less than an hour which included clean up. They performed the work extremely well answering any questions I had during the process. I would definitely hire them again and plan to when I tackle my bathroom upgrades this coming summer.

Darrell and his team were simply outstanding. They were punctual, professional, and they had my interests as their client first and foremost. My original estimate was for just the ceiling lights and one electrical outlet. When they arrived, I discussed adding other outlets as well as a motion sensor for the garage, and Darrell didn't blink an eye before quickly agreeing to do the extra work. Usually, a contractor will tell you that they have to come back another day to do extra work, so it was wonderfully refreshing to have Darrell agree to do it the same day, even though he was pressed for time. Once the job was completed, his crew cleaned up after themselves without any hesitation and even swept the floor! Excellent work/ I'm very pleased, and Darrell and his crew has made me a definite fan of Shocking Difference. That is who I plan to use for all my electrical needs in the future.

It went very very well. Darrell and crew showed up when they said and coordinated with my utility to cut service. They then went right to work verifying and tagging all electrical llnes in and out of the panel located in utility room and then disconnected everything and removed it. They removed the old meter base on the opposite wall as well. The meter base was originally installed in a breezeway that had been converted along with the garage into livings space but the meter remained. The crew then went to work consolidating lines in the remodeled garage and breezeway back to the new main panel and removing a now unneeded electrical panel in what is now the family room. During this work other crew members installed a new mast and supplemental service panel that brought the conductor from the utility transformer into the house. Code says that new installations have to have the meter facing road side of house so the mast had to be moved. Because the distance from this new supplemental panel to the new Main panel was over 15 feet, it had to have a circuit breaker to protect the line from the supplemental to the new main. Darrel suggested and I accepted the idea of installing a generator outlet in the new supplemental panel with appropriate switches that prevent tying to utility power system when generator is in use. I was impressed with everyones 'get it done' attitude. They arrived on time at 8am and left around 630p that night. Their original bid came in at $2850 and so did their bill which I gladly paid as it was more then reasonable for the quality work they accomplished. Money is real tight for us now and I really appreciate the good work at a great price. The difference between their bill and some other quotes I received was a truly Shocking Difference!

Shocking Difference was flexible and agreed to come to my house at 7am to accomodate my own work schedule. Good communication when they called to say Darrell, the owner, was on the way. Darrel planned how the work was to be done and he instructed a 2-man crew on how to do it. They are all very friendly and a delight to work with, although Darrell can get side-tracked with conversation! The 2-man crew did a great job with clean and sturdy wiring. They did need Darrell's advice on how to get the wiring just right so the thermostat OR the humidistat would both trigger the fan. They cleaned up before leaving and left everything as neat as it was when they arrived, or better. It all worked excellent when finished and their price was surprisingly reasonable, HALF of what another electrician estimated for me. I'd recommend them in a heartbeat and am already planning another project that I'll be calling them to do for me!

Shocking Difference provided an excellent job for a very fair price. This family-run business was a pleasure to work with in every regard. They went out of their way to assure that everything was done in a professional manner, exactly as promised. The owners, Darrell and Winona Furgison, even came out as the job progressed to personally see that all was being done to their (and our) satisfaction. If only all businesses were run in such a professional manner!

They have always been very responsive and prompt. They have always done a great job for us. Darrell has excellent customer service skills and he goes the distance in making sure the customer is happy with the work that is done. He is very honest and upfront about costs and always is willing to provide alternative solutions to our projects.

Darrell is always on time or calls. He has helpers/apprentices, etc. His wife runs the office side of the business. Good people.

Darryl was always on time or called. He is a very nice person to do business with. All of his work has been excellent. I recommend Shocking Difference highly.
