Sorry to say I can't give a good review for service. The quality of the work was good but team left mid-day for a different job, different team showed up 5 hours later. Had to re-orient the new team, which cost time for which we were charged. Double the estimate without first checking with us. Minimal discount for the inconvenience.

They troubleshooted my old panel and found problems that needed immediate attention. They dealt with the power company and obtained the necessary city permit, did all the work, labeled all the circuits in the new panel box, and arranged for the city inspector to check the installation. The two electricians worked all day--I think without a break. No music-playing, cigarette-smoking, or inappropriate language (all of which I've experienced with some other folks working on my house). When I had questions they explained things so I could understand them. I was very pleased.

Service was timely and fast. Work is well done. Very friendly folks.

After reading the great reviews on Angie's List I contacted Shocking Difference to find out how much it would cost to update my kitchen lighting. My kitchen was pretty dark and the two lights I had were old. They came out right away and from the first meeting, I was very impressed. Both Darryl and Winona were extremely knowledgeable and provided great guidance on how to go about updating my lighting. I felt their price was a great deal especially with the 10% off for Angie's List. Darryl stayed in contact with me to be sure everything was ready on the day of the installation. The crew even arrived a few minutes early just to be sure my husband would have enough time to get to work. They finished the job early and cleaned everything up. They kept me updated during the process. I just LOVE my new lighting and am kicking myself that it took me so long to finally do the project. These guys did an excellent job (appears to be a family owned business). I hired them shortly afterwards to run power to a hot tub I inserted onto my deck.

This was very impressive, great experience. Joe and Eric took their time, explained what they were doing and why. End result was perfect, even down to the clean up. Would now use this company for all electrical work. Would also be pleased to have these two men assist me all the time.

This company is amazing! The employees were exceptionally courteous and very professional. They quickly identified faults and challenges we had in our home and issues that were not in accordance with current code. They recommended fixes and made all repairs as they stated. They also suggested ways to improve our home which were cost effective and improved efficiency. I will always use them for any electrical work I need done in my home.

It's been several years since I've called on Shocking Difference for electrical work, but when my daughter's range lost power when a space heater was turned on, and turning the circuit breakers off and back on didn't bring power back on for either outlet, I called Shocking Difference. I was immediately glad I did. They were just the way I remembered; friendly, easy to talk to. Ericka even offered the discount rate when I mentioned that I was an Angie's list member. After scheduling a repair visit, Winona called back to suggest that I check for a GFCI outlet button that might have gotten tripped, and call her back. Although this house did not have this type of power outlet installed, I appreciated that the suggestion could have been something that would have saved me a repair trip and charge by their company. The electrician (Joe) and trainee (Eliot) showed up promptly. They were both very professional and treated each other with high regard and respect, which was good to see. The problem ended up not being an obvious fix - All the outlets on the circuit needed to be checked and several of those outlets needed to be rewired in order for the "bad" power outlets to start working again. Joe and Eliot worked quickly and were very respectful of the time it was taking to fix the outlets, as my daughter wanted to be notified of additional work and charges past the 1st hour. This is the 2nd time I've chosen this company to provide service, and both times they have more than met my expectations for getting the work done at what I consider a fair price. I have electrical work at my house that I've been putting off being done, but when I do, I won't hesitate to call Shocking Difference. I trust that I will get a fair value for my money.

They did a really fine job. They brought everything up to code and the way it should be. It was reasonably priced. We would use them again in the future.

This electrical project started out simple and ended up being quite doozy. I initially contacted Shocking Difference to wire my pottery kiln in my shop/studio. Darrell (the owner) gave me a quote and expressed some concern about a few issues in the existing electrical panel in the shop, but didn't think they'd be too much of a problem. So, my husband and I waited a few months to budget for the repairs, then had Shocking Difference install the kiln. The electiricans who came were professional, on time, and worked quickly. There was an issue with the outlet being installed upside down for the plug on my kiln, but when I called and spoke with Winona, she sent someone out right away to fix it. The only thing that I didn't quite understand was the part about the permit needed for the kiln, so I was a little surprised when I was told that the work would need to be inspected. Anyway, the day the inspector came he failed the work performed because of other issues in the panel and because he said the line running from my house to the shop was undersized and had a few issues. Because of the issues the inspector found, I was told that the electricians would need to fix the work by either a) cutting all the electricity to the shop completely since it was improperly done by the previous home owners or b) running an entire new line from the house to the shop that was the correct size. Obviously, I was pretty upset when I found that out. My husband and I are young marrieds with small children, we just bought our first home, and I'm trying to start my own business. We definitely didn't have room in our budget to install a whole new line to the shop, and at the same time, my business was dependant on having electricity in the shop. When I was able to contact Shocking Difference about my concerns, Darrell returned to speak with me in person, which I really appreciated. I felt like he was equally frustrated with what had happened and he was determined to make it right. He gave me a quote for running a new line to the shop that was really, really reasonable--he was willing to eat a significant portion of the cost to make it right for us. We agreed to have the work done and the next day the guys came with a trencher to dig a ditch for the new line. To make a long story short, my house is somehow cursed or something beacuse it took them roughly 2 weeks to dig the trench using a trencher, pick ax, shovels, you name it. They took out an internet cable and a drainage pipe (both of which they repaired fully at no cost), and I could tell that this project was obviously not quite as easy as Darrell probably anticipated. The electricians who came to work on the project (I can think of at least 4 or 5 different guys that were here working--at one point, all of them at the same time) were all upbeat, kind, and professional. Winona, Darrell's wife, who I spoke with numerous times during the project, was helpful, returned my phone calls in a timely manner, and kept me updated on what was going on. Finally, after A LOT of hard work (and patience), the wiring was complete. The inspector returned, approved the new line, and now I'm just working on filling in that 130 foot long ditch myself (and with every shovel full, I am so thankful I'm filling the ditch, not digging it!). I'm sure Shocking Difference didn't make a big profit on this project, but they did a great job, and I would use them again if they would ever be willing to set foot in my electrically-cursed house again. :) Thank you Winona, Darrell, Joe, and all the other men who probably have back aches from digging that ditch. I really appreciate all your hard work!!

I was happy with them. I like them too. They made some good suggestions, they told me what constraints were on some of the things and they were helpful. Their prices were reasonable, they were right on time and they had great communication.

Very professional, good work. however, workers arrived without all the info on the scope of work. And the quote given to us prior to job being done was missing all the cost of materials and permitting, so we were not prepared for final actual cost to be significantly higher. They did give us a discount because of their error.

It took three trips by Sean to narrow down the problem, and replaced a number of parts before everything worked. He did an excellent job and I was able to return the unused parts for a refund.

Super service by Darrell on a rainy Sunday. Provided additional expertise on some common questions that we had around the house. Will definitely refer others to him and call again with our electrical needs.

Installed chandler over dining room table and installed ceiling fan in bedroom. Did an excellent job on both and completed the work in 2 hours! Awesome job!

We wanted an outlet to accommodate 4 plugs. They ordered the part and we made an appointment .the part was late, but they did all the wiring up through the new whole in the floor. Two days later they came back and installed the outlet. Both Tom and Joe did a great job. They were friendly personable, and we are happy!

They did exactly what they said they're going to do. They seemed to do it quite well and they have reasonable price. They were great all the way through. They cleaned up all our messes. They did good work.

These guys were recommended by our heating company, and they are amazing. Price is always close to estimate, no surprises. Everyone is friendly, they really know their stuff, and office staff is great too! Great experience from start to finish. They'll be the only electricians we use from now on.

Darrell Furgison, owner of Shocking Difference, arrived on time, replaced the switch expeditiously. I asked him if it were possible to install an outlet in one of the bathrooms; he checked it out and in no time installed it. Mr. Furgison is friendly, up front with costs and efficient. I would recommend him anytime.

The team did a great job. They were efficient and knew what they were doing. They were in and out in less than an hour. They were respectful to wear booties over their shoes and placed a tarp over the floor of the inside work area. And after the replacements were completed, the new fixtures worked perfectly. On their way out they removed the old fixtures and packaging for recycling - no muss no fuss.

They provided electrical service to an out building that included wiring from my main house and installing outlets/fixtures in the out building.
