First, if you are in the market for a cheap, cut rate, fly by night electrical outfit, Keep looking. This crew is amazing and do amazing work. They are totally professional and knowledgeable. From start to finish, these guys took care of us. They took the time to educate us, answered all of questions, and made us feel truly comfortable with choosing them. Winona, Darrel, Adam, Shawn, and Pete are just good people. Darrel do our estimate and really took his time to educate us. Let us know what things were truly important and what things could wait. Winona was great. We had some questions about the estimate and few other things. She took her time to explain everything. I even told her some of the issues I was having getting other contractors to do some of the other work, and she gave me a couple names that she had worked with. It has been a HUGE help. Adam, Shawn, and Pete were the guys that did the work. They were awesome. Let me know what was going on every step of the way. They worked quickly and efficiently. Kept things clean. Answered all my questions. We are extremely pleased with all the work they did and look forward to working with them in the future.

I called to plan replacement of knob and tube wiring in a house we are buying. I needed the information quickly. They responded the next day and got a quote to me within a day. Winona stayed at the office until 10:30 pm to get it done. She has helped me with additional questions and been very responsive and informative. This allowed me to move forward on the purchase and to budget for the work they will do.

Adam and Joe arrived on time. They were knowledgeable, respectful, friendly, and professional. Very careful to clean up after themselves. They explained exactly what they would do for the least cost to me. They also did a safety check. While they were here I asked if they could replace some switch boxes that would no longer hold a plug, and they were willing to do the extra work for a reasonable price right then. I'm happy with the work they did and would definitely call Shocking Difference again.

Joe and Adam did a great job. They arrived on time, knew what needed to be done, and completed the job in 2 hours. The had to run wiring, cut a hole in the siding, and make modifications so the light fixture fit snugly against the house. Great job!

I had a whole house surge protector installed. Shawn and Zeb showed up first thing in the morning, gave me some recommendations on how to best protect my home and detached garage, explained the pricing up front and installed it quickly. They showed me what they had done and explained how it functioned and provided me with warranty information.

Outstanding work, fair price, and great customer service. Shocking Difference is my go-to for electrical work because they show up on time, give a solid estimate, and come through with high quality work at the right price. I had a big rewiring project to update my old house. It went so well that when I needed some exterior security lights installed, I went right to Shocking Difference and they came out quickly with all the necessary supplies to finish the job without a lot of back-and-forth.

Everything but the price was great. Technicians arrived on time, identified the problem in 5 minutes, and installed a replacement switch. I thought that the prices was excessive but they were upfront about what their minimum cost would be. As a result of this experience, I would be reluctant to use them again because of the cost.

Service was good, prompt, but absurdly overpriced.

It was so expensive. I didn?t get an estimate from them before they came out, which was my fault. They found nothing wrong enough to charge $257. I was pretty disappointed. Anyway, it was just hit the reset button and I had done that to it before and it came back on. They couldn?t find anything else wrong. I think I went over the 15 amps at one point and it shut down. That was pretty pricey for that. I was pleased that they came out so quickly because I had a painter here that needed to use his electrical equipment. So, I was glad that they came fast. I was in error in not looking at what it was going to coat me. It wasn?t any emergency, they could just come. That was when they were scheduled to come and I was glad that they could. I called them because they were on Angie?s List, they had good reviews and it said small family owned company. I thought that sounded really good, it helped out and me as well. They were very good and they were very efficient. They felt terrible, but that was their standard fee and if I had looked at that which I didn?t see. I went back onto Angie?s List to see and I never found anything on their that said that they charged that. So far, I haven?t gotten a copy of my bill, I paid it with a check. The person that does their bookkeeping is on vacation, so they said they would send it to me by email, but so far, I haven?t gotten it. They were going to itemize it and break it down as to what it was just to come out, a fee and the labor for being here. I understand all of that and that was good. I tried calling the jubilee office because I live in a retirement community, but they weren?t answering their phones; to see who they use in our neighborhood. I have no problem with them and I would use them again now that I know. They were very good, he was very good and I really appreciated them coming out. As it turned out, they said it was my painter?s equipment that caused it to go down. He used my neighbor?s and he tripped that as well. The electrician thought it was a faulty ground, plug or something. My painter was not going for that, so he said he wasn?t going to pay any of that. So, I said, ?Fine!? Lesson learned! He showed me what they charged and he said, ?Had anyone told me!? I said, ?No, I hadn?t asked and no one told me either!? So, that?s a lesson that I need to be prepared for with those type of service companies that they do have. I realize that, everybody has set fees. It was pretty pricey for telling me that everything was fine. I reset the breaker switch. I am so mechanical inept that I didn?t know if that was it because there was a yellow light on the reset button. I hit it and it went off and I thought, ?Oh, maybe it?s supposed to be green!? So, I thought I had better have that checked out anyway. It was my fault for not asking. I do think that it would be best if they said, ?Do you know!? When he got here he said to me, ?Do you know that we charge a flat rate on a service call?? I said, ?No!? So, before he started to check it out he showed me what it was. I go, ?Oh my gosh!? I have forgotten what it was, but it was over a $100 to come out. Another company charges $135 if they come out, but they take that off if they do something. This one didn?t, but then they didn?t do anything. It was their labor and time. Granted I had them out and that is their fee, but somehow, I think that when it wasn?t anything for them. Yes, it cost them time and service and whatever sending guys out and their auto gas and stuff. I think maybe they could have negotiated that down a little bit. I mean they did give me a 10% discount for being a senior and that was really good otherwise it would have been even more. I thought perhaps, they did check out some things. Yes, they were diligent in that. I wish they could have said, ?You know what, lets negotiate this down!? I think that would have led me to have them back. I think now that I know what they charge, because they were very professional, they absolutely knew what they were doing. I said I wouldn?t use them again because they were so expensive, but I don?t know who else would be any different with an electrician. My grandson is an electrician in Canada, so I was going to talk to him about it to tell me what I need to do before I get into a predicament like this again. They absolutely knew what they were doing and I loved that. They worked as fast as they could, it wasn?t that they were dilly dallying around, not at all. They were 5 minutes early.

The job went well, very well. And the reason the job went so very well is due to Darrel, Winona, Brent, Mike and all the professionals that we shared our home with for a few days. We had these big, giant electrical wish-list goals - but had no idea how to get there from here. Darrel listened to our ideas and came up with ideas and solutions to all of our issues. The electricians arrived on schedule and worked quickly, cleanly and professionally. Two things really impressed me 1) the crew questioned us thoroughly on the job to be done before any work was started and also continuously questioned us as they worked to ensure that there would be no surprises or miscommunication. "You really want that switch here? or light and fan together? or separate switches? etc." 2) When we had a question they took their time and answered and explained in ways we could understand. Winona and Brent were always just a phone call or Email away. if as we were, you are entering the scary unknown world of contacting electrical contractors with some trepidation...give Shocking Difference a call.

Winona and her team were great at communicating, getting the job done in about a five days (one snag, but we resolved it pretty quickly) with minimal interruption. They cleaned up every day after leaving and made sure to plan the work around my schedule. We got the job done with all my 'nice to haves' within budget. I am relieved that this big job is done, and I'm happy to know that there is an electrician I can trust if/when I need it.

Their electricians arrived promptly each day and worked diligently to complete all the work quoted, which was substantial. Although the work proceeded more slowly than expected, they honored their original quote. They came back promptly to resolve some very minor issues right after completion and I have not had any problems with any of their work/installations.

Great! The guys did a great job. They were polite, respectful, friendly and above all, professional. Mike knew what to do and was able to troubleshoot the problems in a timely manner. They were helpful in moving furniture and putting things back the way they were when finished. I would definitely hire Shocking Difference again.

It went very well. I discussed my needs with their electricians and they described how they were going to perform the work. It was very easy working with them to get a great final product. They took great care to minimize the amount of dust and vacuumed after they were done.

Winona got me a price together while vacationing in Boston. Fair price. There guys came out and did a great job, adjusting the work as requested during the process. A pleasure to work with.

Most the local Olympia electricians took quite some time or were not responsive to calls. Shocking Difference and another vendor got back to me rather quickly. The other electrician estimated the project for way over what Shocking Difference quoted. I was a little skeptical at first, because Shocking Difference only needed pictures of the garage (never came in person to do the estimate); while the other vendor did come and look at my garage. I went ahead and booked both vendors. I told both of them that if any openings occur, that they should consider me. Lucky for me, Shocking Difference called and was able to do it 1 week earlier. They came and did the project. They apparently needed more material than they anticipated and probably stayed longer as well. I was thinking they would add extra to what they estimated. But when I received the invoice, I was surprised to see no cost overruns!! Their work was excellent. The L&I electrical inspector came by and said they do great work. He said I had nothing to worry about. My car has been with me this week, and each night he gets a full charge. I am very pleased with their service; would recommend them to anybody; and if I need something else done will definitely consider them. I spoke to Winona mostly; she's awesome. Shocking Difference did a great job, they replaced all five lights, and fixed the broken kitchen light. I did not know the light was broken, I thought it was just loose. The electrician called me to tell me it was broken. He then went to the store, purchased a new replacement and then replaced the light, all the same day. When I came home, all I saw were the new beautiful lights! I was so thrilled! He also cleaned everything up, I would not have known he was even there if not for the beautiful lights! Shocking Difference is the best!

Everything went well! All of the jobs that I needed done were done, and done well. Professional, courteous and explained things well. After having a previous bad experience with another company, Shocking Difference was a welcome relief. IAnd, my home was left clean! will hire them again.

It went great. Quote process with Winona and Darrell was facilitated by their willingness to review pictures I sent. They came down in price a bit which helped fit our budget. The techs showed up a little late but were reinforced a bit later by another tech whose job had been cancelled so he was sent to my house to hasten completion of my job. I really appreciated this. The lead tech provided me with a good outline of what they were needing to do and he laid out the options for generator drops given my Plan A was not feasible without rewiring. Techs were very friendly and professional.

They called and stated that they has a cancellation so they came a week early. They could not finish in one day so they came back and finished. They did a very good job and cleaned up after themselves, so I did nothing but enjoy the lights.

Shocking Difference technicians were excellent; very respectful and informative. Timely finish; they cleaned up everywhere they had worked. They even checked other areas for safety, before signing off and leaving.
