Fast Water Heater Company

They were great. There were some extra costs to get my water heater up to code. I didn't feel I was being up sold.

I had called this company through Home Depot's installation number. It was 8:30am, and Home Depot's site indicated same day service. I could not get an appointment until 3:00 to 5:00 the next day, and was told the technician would call approx. 30 minutes before arriving. I explained to the person who did the scheduling that we wanted to install a new water heater, there was no question of repair but that we needed the old one removed and because it had leaked quite a bit, we needed an evening to fix the platform it was standing on. He told me no problem, they would come out and remove it, and I would just need to pay 10% and they would remove the heater and come back the next day with a new one and I could then pay the remaining 90%. The technician did not arrive until after 5:00pm, there was no phone call at all. He promptly told me the water heater was broke and needed to be replaced. I told him what the gentleman on the phone had arranged with me, and he said they don't do that, sometimes the guys in the office say things they should not. I would have to call the office and track down that guy I talked to. This was to be a service call of $139.00 where he would give me an estimate. He did finally agree to take away the water heater. I had been told that the standard installation cost was $400. The technician quickly estimated an additional $600 in charges for items that are supposedly required by the city such as earthquake straps. If things are required they should be included in standard installation. He told me that certain things were broke and would need to be fixed, however, when my husband arrived home, amazingly they weren't broke anymore. At that point, I knew I was done with this company. Thanks for taking our hot water heater away, but no I will not have them back.

They came out on Sunday to do and inspection and they stated I would need to pay and additional $500 for extra services. Then after I declined that they said since I was an Angie's List member they could cut it down to $350. I still said no because that is not what I paid for.

Jake took my call and scheduled the hot water heater's installation for the following Monday morning "between 9a and 11a. I mentioned my Angie's List membership and Jake quickly outlined the promotions. He offered that purchasing the $200 value for $100 charge was my best savings for the estimated cost of the tank I would need. At the time, Jake advised that my $799 estimate could go higher based upon any necessary added charges to correctly perform the on site work. After purchasing the discount voucher online, I received a follow-up email that my discount would be shared with the installer, which it was. Installation went perfectly. The technician, Brandon, was on time, professional, gave me an accurate estimate of how long the complete job would take. He was thorough and performed all his own clean-up. He advised me that the existing expansion tank was undersized for the current appliances and there would be an extra charge ($179). After charges for a drip pan and upgraded wiring & clamps my bill was over my initial estimate which, as noted before, Jake had prepared me for during our initial conversation. Fast's quality of the work and comfort in knowing my 30 year old water heater has been efficiently replaced outweigh the additional cost and I would definitely call Fast again

Matt Smith was the technician. He was on time and very knowledgable. He explained everything and checked the existing plumbing to the water heater. The Angie's List Deal was for $849. However my old expansion tank was not functioning so I needed a new one. I was very surprised that the local codes required a permit/inspection @ $166---not Fast Water Heater's fault. They did tell me about it beforehand--no surprises. I am very happy and satisfied with this company.

Scheduled to have a gas hot water heater replacement installed - they couldn't install a gas heater as the entrance into the room was through a bathroom. there fore my options were to hirer an electrician and then install a electric heater. Or remodel my rooms to enter from a new area. Apparently this is now code in WA.

I decided to be proactive and replace my water heater before I needed to. Most people claim that water heaters will last about 10 years or so; mine was 15 years old. Since we entertain a lot, I didn't want to take any chances of the water heater going out when I needed it the most. I went to McLendon Hardware, Lowes, and Home Depot to check out all of the various models. Also reviewed water heaters on Consumer Reports. Rheem had a good reputation, so I visited Home Depot to check out all of the different models to decide which one to get. I decided to purchase one of their top-of-the line Platinum Plus models with a 12-Year warranty (recommended by Consumer Reports). Home Depot told me that Fast Water Heater does all of their installations, so I called the number that was on their brochure. I called twice. Once, to get an estimate on how much the installation could potentially cost and second, to place my order. Each time, I talked to a very pleasant person who explained things in detail to my satisfaction. One thing to be aware of. If you call the Home Depot number, you get a different price on the water heater than if you call Fast Water Heater directly. I had a deal that I picked up on Angie's List, so I called Fast Water Heater directly. In the end, I saved a few dollars, but the pricing through Home Depot is very competitive. After I made my installation appointment, Fast called me the day before to tell me that they couldn't install at the pre-arranged time, but could come a few hours later. No big deal. I had the whole day off, so I just ran errands in the morning. Matt called about a half-hour before he was scheduled to arrive. He assessed the current state of my water heater and put together a proposal for me before he started the work. Since my water heater was 15 years old, it was not up-to-code, so it required a lot of additional work. (On my initial call to FWH, I asked the rep about the possibility that extra work would be needed and what the possible cost might be. He said that it depended on my current water heater and could be in the neighborhood of $200 - $400 (including a $55.00 permit), which it was.) At least I wasn't blindsided by sticker shock. I went ahead and authorized the work and Matt did his thing. He was very pleasant and efficient and took care to put down cardboard so that my rug stayed nice and clean. After about 2 1/2 hours, the job was completed. The work area was cleaned up and Matt carefully went over what he had just installed. The water heater and the installation looked great. My old water heater was hauled away and, hopefully, I will have hot water for a long time to come. I would highly recommend Fast Water Heater to do your installation.

The technician was knowledgable and professional. He measured the area around the existing tank and gas furnace then gave us the cost to install a new hot water heater and told us what was included in our Angie's deal that we purchased for a new hot water heater installed for $849.00. We had to pay another $564.00 to get the new tank up to code which inclued the $64.00 city permit. The new hot water heater is wonderful and we really notice a difference when using the hot water for showers,etc... I am sure we will see a decrease in our natural gas bill. It ended up costing us more than the advertised $849 deal around $1400 but we did have an old tank that was not up to code. Expect to pay more than the $849 deal price that Angies's advertises to have the hot water heater installed.

setting the appointment through installation was a smooth process. I was not keen on the installers insistence that he write down my credit card number on his paperwork (rather than running the card on a mobile terminal or letting me call the office to give them my credit number over the phone). I had compared pricing with another well-regarded hot water company and found them to be similar in price (and markup, which appears to be healthy). For this install, a B. I will be completing another response for an install done at a different location at a later date; it will not be rated so highly.

The installer was a professional with lots of experince and made the job look easy. He was also very informative about all the hot water heater options available.

It actually went very well. We did a little research before calling them so that we knew some basics about what we needed. The pricing seemed in line with Home Depot options and it included the installation. We selected the 15yr warranty, 50 gallon Rheem tank. They didn't necessarily suggest other options such as a tankless water heater, but that was fine with us. I appreciated that they kept it very simple and straight forward. All I had to tell them was the model number and they gave me initial quotes over the phone. Our install was pretty straight forward. Additional costs included the replacement of the copper input and output pipes which was $22, the anchor bolts for the Earthquake Straps that was $36, and a new water shut off valve for $99. Overall, we were fine with the pricing. They were extremely timely. We called on a Monday and they installed it the next day in the morning. A very good experience overall.

FAST picked up the new water heater I'd selected from Home Depot and transported it to my house. Two installers worked on it. They determined that the previous install didn't meet current code and had to make changes to conform (e.g. pan underneath, changes to the existing plumbing from the wall). The install was done efficiently and cleanly - these guys are pros. A+ on that. They talked me through the code requirements clearly. There were a 2 different ways they could make my install meet code and they explained the pros & cons of each approach. I expected there to be additional charges for the work necessary to meet code, but didn't expect the rate sheet to be so expensive. Had FAST shown me the rate sheet upfront, it would have helped set my expectations of what the final charge would be and I wouldn't have suffered sticker shock. Had I not previously purchased an Angie's List deal for a discount on the install, I would've been more upset about the difference between the price I expected to pay and the final charge. Given the same situation, I would use FAST again to install a new water heater.

I contacted 3 Angie's list top rated water heater service companies to get a quote on purchasing and installing a 75 gal gas water heater. Fast Water Heater has the best price. Their price also beat my property manager's preferred company. I also bought a $100 for $200 credit from Angie's list to further lower the cost. Brandon came on the installation day. He called me 25 min before arrival to give me enough time to get back. He went over the procedure and answered questions I had. He started working after I signed off on the work authorization. He corrected in hot/cold water pipes (they were switched places on the old water heater). He also told me that there was no cold water shut off for the water heater and told me he could add one for $99. After some consideration, I decided to add it (there went my $100 saving from Angie's list). Brandon finished installation and clean up within 90 minutes. I look forward to enjoy my new water heater.

It turned out really good. They were professional and they installed it in a timely manner. They explained what I have to do to follow up because I have to call an inspector. They have an installer for home depot. Even if you have to buy stuff from Sears, I guess they were the ones who will install them.

It was fine. Everything was perfect. They were on time and professional. I would recommend them.

Called them up, they sent us an email with the product & pricing details. Came in next day to replace the water heater. Additional cost for a few parts (tray,etc.) after they came in.

I purchased the coupon and then saw another big deal a week later that was even better. I contacted Fast Water Heater to tell them I no longer needed the service and they were very nice about it. Notified me that I had to contact AngiesList directly to get my refund.

Our water heater broke on Saturday morning of a holiday weekend. I called Fast Water Heater company and they were able to tell exactly what water heater we would need as a replacement and give me prices and options by phone. Brett had to move some scheduling around, but he did this and scheduled us for 2:00 that afternoon. Chris called right on time and was absolutely great. He installed the new water heater and also was incredibly helpful with getting the water flowing correctly and relighting a very old and difficult heater pilot. I couldn't be more pleased with the service, thanks so much to both Brett and Chris.

When he showed up for the initial scheduled install, it turned out there had been a miscommunication during the quoting process between me and him about where in the garage it would be installed. When we sorted that out, he worked up a new number and gave it to me. He handled it very professionally and apologized for the miscommunication (which was as much my fault as his!). I told him I needed to double check the budget and talk to my wife and he was very professional about it and left for the day so that we could figure out what we wanted to do. Decided later that day to move forward so gave them a call back. Within a few minutes, they had me rescheduled for a day or two later. Came back right on time, did the work promptly and professionally, and even worked with me to get pipes/etc routed where I wanted them so they would be out of the way. Overall, great work, good service, I'd call them again without hesitation.
