My mom's car broke down while she was on her way to work. After I did some quick research on Angie's List for an auto repair place close to where she had broken down I told her to have her car towed to Lake Ridge Auto Care because of their positive reviews. The staff were extremely helpful, polite, professional, and straightforward. They even had a shuttle that took my mom to work. They performed all of the repairs and even gave me a discount after I told them that I found them on Angie's List. The discount wasn't advertised, but after I explained what Angie's List was, they were happy to give me a 5% discount. The bill for all of the repairs was high, but that is the nature of the "broken down car" beast. All in all, they were terrific and helpful and I will use them for all of my future car repair needs.
Description of Work: The car needed a lot of work.

They were on time, presented a fair estimate, test drove my vehicle before and after servicing and called a couple of days later to be sure we were satisfied. We have used them for routine oil changes, state inspections, and this brake work. We would recommend them as our first choice before going to a dealer for service.

They are a reliable auto service provider. If it is a more complicated repair, recommend discussing fully with the provider to get all your repair options.

I scheduled an oil change for my vehicle via telephone. I told them that I had my own oil and filter -- just wanted it changed, They were efficient and performed the change while I waited for a very reasonable price.

Walked in early on a weekend and requested an oil and filter change for my car. Shuttle service was available after a short wait and was prompt. Received a call promptly when my vehicle was ready. Unlike prior experiences with this vendor, the vendor did not attempt to upsell me on additional maintenance work. Will likely use in the future for simple auto maintenance. Based on prior experience, would seek a second opinion before hiring for more costlier work.

Overall, my experiences with Lake Ridge Auto Care has been routine maintenance work, such as oil changes, tires, inspections and brake work. Fortunately, I have not been in a situation where I had to be towed into their shop so I can't provide any comments on those scenarios. Inspections don't require appointments but the longest I've waited was 30 min. I have never had to wait hours to get an inspection done there, which is why I go there. When I've had appointments for work, such as brake work or installation of tires, they have always been prepared for my car to arrive. They are prompt in getting you in on time and their estimates on time are usually accurate or they will call and let me know. I've never had to leave a car there overnight because they couldn't get the work done timely. I always ask for cost quotes in advance which they provide. I've always asked them to call me if they see if the cost will be higher and they have. When I need work for my car, Lake Ridge Auto Care is one of the first places that pops into my mind about where to go get the work. I will continue to use their work.
Description of Work: I have used Lake Ridge Auto Care for various needs since they opened. I've had oil changes and car inspections done there. The work is usually done in the amount of time estimated, or they tell me what is causing the holdup. Several years ago, I asked them if they would install tires that I bought online. They said yes, and told me to ship the tires to their address. When the tires arrived, they called me immediately and installed the tires the next day. The charge for installing the tires was about $60. I do trust their work and have never felt that I needed to get several estimates from different auto shops to get work done. I would go there again to get work done.

I I have a degree in mechanical engineering, and believe I can tell in advance when a service provider has their own interest ahead of mine. This was definitely not the case here.
Description of Work: My Navigator broke down near my rental house and I did not know any places to take it to. My tenant referred me to Lake ridge Auto. I worked with Jeremy. He got it towed there with about the best deal in town. They worked on it at length , but in the end, they believed it was the computer , but they would need the dealer tools for a proper diagnosis. They did not want to start replacing parts without knowing 100% which Applaud. The did not charge me for all the time they put into it, and even got me a discount in towing it to the dealer. I will definitely use them in the future.

The inspection revealed that the seat belt sensor on the passenger side was inoperative, thus it flunked the state inspection. They offered to get the parts and fix the problem. When they talked to Acura they were told that that seat belt sensor was under a lifetime warranty. They notified my daughter that she could get the problem fixed by an Acura dealer free of charge, which she did. Instead of them fixing the problem they did was was ethically right to do, they let her know that Acura would fix the problem for free. They did not try to take advantage of a female and sell her something she didn't need. The were very coutreous and professional.

I had to perform an emissions on my 4 year old Toyota Yaris. I went to another mechanic to get the emissions done. To my shock I failed the emissions and thought to take my car to Lake Ridge auto in order to fix the problem. I have used them in the past. Well, when they called me to inform me of the issue and told me it would cost $1200 I was shocked! We all know how long it takes to find mechanics that will not take advantage of people much less a female like myself. I trusted them. They told me I needed spark plugs and coils. I had them go on with fixing my car. A few days later as I spoke to my co-workers about how much I spent they looked at me like I had two heads. I paid too much according to them. I therefore, looked at an auto part store to figure out how much the parts should cost. Spark plugs cost from 2.95 - 7.95 and coils (for 2) anywhere from 160-221. They charged me $694! Assuming they used the high end parts (which they probably didn't) I was still charged over $200 just for the parts. My co-workers teased me that they could have changed my spark plugs and coils at work during lunch. Lake Ridge charged me for 3 hours of labor, $311! The fuel flush they charged $68, where I am sure it is much cheaper at Target. I don't even think they had to perform any service on my fuel injector as I had just taken it a few days before to be flushed. Moral of the story, make sure you get a price for the parts and make sure if that is the going rate. Most likely it was my fault, I really get upset at how mechanics take advantage of people. Women please be careful. All in all, their service is great, their fast, they "seem" like the perfect shop...just be a smart shopper, not like me! Oh, and almost forgot, the shuttle guy who drove me home after I dropped off my car was saying it probably was the spark plugs, "it shouldn't cost a lot"...!
Description of Work: They performed an emissions when there was already one done for $102 Replacing spark plugs and coils for $694 with $132 in labor. Air/fuel induction service for $102 labor and $68 for induction kit. Parts $737 labor $311 Tax and shop supply $78.64

The technicians performed an analysis and determined that the drums and rotors on the front brakes were worn. They also determined the rear brakes were worn but had some remaining service life. I elected to have all four sets replaced to avoide having to return at a later date. I left the vehicle overnight and was able to pick it up the next day. Approximately two weeks later I had to ruturn to Lakeridge Auto because the brakes were still not performing properly. The tech immediately discovered two of the new rotors were warped and required replacement. He also checked and found the rotors were under warranty and could be replaced at no cost to me. I was very pleased with the service I received and will use them again in the future.

I've been to plenty of auto care centers over the years and I finally found the place that I'm happy to refer. My son nintendo Tim recommended the place to me and I couldn't be happier. I expected to have the typical sales pitch on a million other items that I wasn't concerned with. They actually did more work than they charged me for and even explained it, so I know they were aware. Based on my experience I would recommend this be your next stop for auto service.

Thier prices were reasonable but they are terrible with communitcation. I called to see the price to check my AC and I was told to "bring it in the guys are not busy." I arrived at 8:30 am and dropped off it off. I was not called until 3:00 pm and was told that I needed a brake flush. I approved the brake flush and asked if my car would be ready by closing time at 7:00pm. I was told "yes." When I called back at 6:30pm I was told that had not even started on the brake flush. I was now forced to pick my car up the next day and they would call me when it was finished. I never received a call all day and ended up calling them at 5:00pm. Thier communication with the customers is horrible.

The work was good. They do oil change, inspection and rotate the tires for $29.95. They have a coupon for that, and I feel it is pretty reasonable. They will get me in and out in an hour. They had to take such a long time for the filter change as oil change doesn't take that long. They never try to oversell anything. This is the first time actually; they ever said I needed anything else.

I took in my wife's car for an oild change and inspection. The next morning, her car stalled on the way to work. I had it towed to another mechanic who said she had no water in the radiator! How can someone inspect the car the day before and fail to notice the radiator was completely empty? Even I could have done a better job! I subsequently spent $2,000 to repair damage to the engine.(at another shop, obviously)--and no, I didn't ask them to repair it. They would just deny responsibility anyway and I couldn't prove it was them. Besides, I didn't want them to touch my car again. If that weren't enough, they also suggested changing a brake light....which afterwards didn't work properly. The same week I'd also taken my car for an inspection, which didn't pass, for the first time ever. One thing was they cited me for was that I had tied on the muffler with wire....that's ok, maybe it is against code, but they said the emissions didn't pass and they might have to replace the entire exhaust system for about $1,200. I said if that was their price, they could forget it. An hour later they said "No problem. we just banged on it and it worked." It makes me wonder what they migh have said if I had agreed to their estimate. I will NEVER go back there again.
