JES Foundation Repair

The concrete didn’t rise all the way up so they are going to come back and try again in the Spring.

The estimate visit was thorough and estimator explained the process to level two sections of our composite driveway. Post-contract signing, repairman came out about a week later, leveled the driveway and repaired the joints between the sections. After about 8 months, the repair is holding great and survived a very wet winter. We are very pleased with the repair and service from JES and consider the repair to be a great and effective value.

JES kept us advised as to timing and schedule. They ran over on their estimated completion, due in part to local inspectors and unexpected problem. All and all, professional peace of mind was the result.

Everything was fine, they were a little late to arrive due to problems on the previous job site, but I was kept informed.

It went very well and on time!!! The Foreman kept us informed all throughout the project. They put everything back to the way they found it. We are very pleased!!!

JES specializes in all types of foundation work. The company is good at what it does for sure. It is not cheap to use the company; however, your money is well spent. The company has the expertise.

We were obtaining estimates for foundation matters. JES completed a detailed survey of the issue as did 2 other companies. JES is very thorough and I can recommend you at least consult with them.

This company was the only one who used a laser to measure the house for level for the estimate. The crew did an excellent job. The foreman, Augustin took the time to explain what they were doing and what the outcome should be. It was amazing to actually see the fireplace chimney move back against the house and feel the floor move inside when the hydraulic pressure was applied to the front of the house. The two man crew who applied poly to the den flooring was also pleasant and explained everything in detail. Again it was amazing to see the front wall move up to the ceiling as the poly was implemented. All around a fantastic job by all. We recommend JES to all who need that type of work done.

Very well. They worked efficiently,always here when they gave me a time. I reviewed a number of companies and although their price was higher, the quality of work was worth it.

A professional job, excellent results

While the work was properly completed, the front of my house was left messy and the workers got mortar on my new brushed nickel mailbox. The mortar repair was not limited to the cracked area as they got mortar on several bricks a distance away from the crack. Debris was also left in the front yard. Someone was supposed to call once the job was completed so that I could approve of the work and sign off on papers. I had the work completed in October or November and I have yet to receive a call from JES despite my attempts to follow-up.

The top level bullet points: Their inspector initially came by and told me in no uncertain terms about some issues with my foundation that later turned out to be not true. They rescheduled my appointment for the day of a hurricane, showed up and did it all in about 8 hours, when originally it was supposed to have taken 2 days. They rushed through it as quickly as possible. Nobody knocked on my door when they came, just showed up and started working without calling. None of the crew spoke english, so I couldn't communicate with them anyway. They killed all of my plants, including pouring concrete outside of the work area in some places. Left debris everywhere. Did not follow city code by having an inspector come out (had to get one myself, after JES gave me the runaround for 2 months). The work: Repaired foundation on corner of my house. They did not follow the plan they had told me they would. Stabilized my porch instead of my house because they didn't "need" to stabilize the house in one area. I was never consulted. This was at a cost of $1k to me because of the pylon they used. Rather than using 4 like they said they needed, they used all 5 because, I guess, they just had it on the truck and figured it would pay for it. They did not get these revisions approved by the city either. The city inspector confirmed this when I had him out. After the work they never inspected. Rescheduled multiple times for months. Kept calling for money before the work was done. I've never been as frustrated as I was with these people. I literally had to get a city inspector to call them and make them come out to inspect it with them before they would even look. Even then they tried to do it when I wasn't home. My house isn't falling down, but it wasn't to begin with so I guess they did a good job. Since they never told me when they started or finished though, I really have no clue if they fixed anything because I only have their word and the word of their sales guy to know anything was wrong to begin with. I wasn't given any info on how the stabilization went until I personally went to the city to get reports and have their people look at it. When removing my porch they cracked the blocks underneath so bad they shifted. This was never really fixed. They put new grout in, which cracked 3 times before they finally fixed it correctly. I wish I could recommend someone better to go with, but I don't know. Which is probably why they were able to pull all this on me to begin with. Have tons of before/after pics. Do not recommend working with them. I've had more and better communication with the lawn guy I pay to cut the grass than with this "professional engineering firm".

They did a good job putting the crawl space dehumidifier and drainage system, but they didn't really do a "foundation repair" since the HUMP on my floor is still there. They shouldn't call their company a foundation repair specialist.

Work completed as scheduled and with quality. Although not cheap.

We were overall very pleased. Ian the engineering specialist came, was very professional, listened to our concerns, and spent a great deal of time working with us. He offered great support via phone and text when we had other questions. The work crew arrived when scheduled and performed the work in a timely and professional manner. Pricing was fair. We'd recommend again.

We had two crews one that worked on pin points and lifted our chimney, they worked in the rain and completed this job in one day. The second crew used three days for full insulation and dehumidifier insulation in our crawl space and repaired water damaged board subfloor. Really productive crew and professional. I’m still waiting on my chimney to be caulked. Thanks for a getting us done in an efficient time. Please make note thAt Neil Beltoan and Eric Gawond were outstanding and professional during the complete job.

Very well, and faster than planned. Foundation inspectors were on time, professional, and provided outstanding explanations for the work. Installation foreman and team of two inspectors were again, ontime, communicative, skilled and professional.

Horrible. My floors are still not level since July. Work not completed to my satisfaction so I stopped the final payment. They are upset with me for doing that. They stated today they are done and want the rest of the money for the job. They are now threatening to send my account to collections for non-payment. In July they told me my floors would not be perfect but I sure did not expect to walk across humps in the floor and still have a sunken bathroom for $9K. I am filing a complaint with BBB, the Attorney General, and DPOR. When I logged onto the BBB today there was another complaint just like mine...their floors were still not level either since July. This company agreed to level my floors yet wrote on the contract “stabilize” just like the other complaint in BBB...was not what we discussed. Angie’s list needs to remove this company from your list of preferred contractors ASAP. No one else should ever have to experience what I am experiencing now. 2 people is 1 too many. Clearly this is an ongoing problem that they dont know how to fix . They should have told the truth and never took the job in the first place. I feel like I was “hustled”. They will not get another penny from me the way my floors look! Threaten me with collections all they want to! Shame on them!!!! By the way, I am a person who has an excellent credit score. I pay my bills. However, I am not going to pay $9000 for shoddy work!!!!!

The work was completed ahead of schedule to my satisfaction.
