Its just a Wax ring. He was there less than an hour and I got a bill for over $500. Their web site says they charge by the hour but the tech said he has a magic book to tell how much to rip people off for. The tech was fine but their pricing is outrageous. I would never use them again!!

Excellent, no problems, plumber was professional and courteous. he definitely gets an A+, and that's really the truth.

great.. took a chance on calling A one and to my surprise a person not a machine answered the phone> They ask would you like a morning or afternoon appointment. I said this morning would be great. The person said they would call back when the tec was in route.. about 20 minutes later that call came and the tech arrived at 8:30 AM.. perfect. Duane the tech pulled up in a professional truck, in uniform, and slipped his shoe protection on prior to entering the house. Within minutes Duane was on the roof with his equipment and within 30-45 minutes.. problem resolved. For me services exceeded expectation and the tec could not be more personable an professional. I will call them with any problems in the future.

They have taken money and done nothing.

They are very bad. I would never use them. We called them and they even never finished the work and ripped us a lot of money. They were on time and they fixed the water heater but not right. They had someone come and inspect it. My wires are still exposed and no body knows when they will get out here. We talked to them about the garbage disposal and they wanted $400. The water hater had burst and it drained everywhere. He put a pan under it but did not put a drain out. The work was unsatisfactory to me.

We obtained 3 estimates, but only A1 offered the right balance of professionalism, quality, timeliness, and affordability. They did an amazing job!

My grades are affected by first contact which is an F, communication was bad, the guy didn't know how to explain things. My second contact, the manager's fix, was an A. Grading them is hard because it seems like it depends on who comes out which makes things difficult. It should have been an F until the last manager came out and then raised the grade up due to his service.

The service tech arrived on time and was very friendly and talkative, but he gets an F for his dishonesty. This was our 2nd quote for the bathroom job.( The first one was $500 less, but that company told us it would have to go in through a wall. A-1 said it would not have to.) My husband decided to go with A-1. He asked the tech for a written quote so we could see a breakdown. After a few minutes, the man brought in what we thought was the quote, but he kept referring to as a "work order" (this piece of paper had no title at the top to tell the consumer what it actually is)..... He had my husband initial in several places, including a price quote box.. It turns out that we were actually signing a contract. After we had set up a date and the tech left, we took a very close look at the paper (like we should have done in the first place- too trusting). To my husband's horror, he realized the tech had had him sign for the price quote in a box that said he forfeited his right to cancel the work! We were actually contracted with A-1! He was never told this in the first place. The technician also signed his name in a box that said he had explained our rights to us, which also NEVER happened. When we called A-1, we were rudely spoken to by the secretary, and threatened legally. We were eventually able to get out of it, and just ended up paying the examination fee. I wish I had talked to my neighbors, all of whom have lived here foe many years. They all laughed and said A-1 is known around here for their outrageous prices and dishonest ways. I have heard many horrible stories from others who have dealt with them. They are "F" rated on BBB, and for good reason.

Seven service calls and finally a solution.They did not explain what they had to do to replace the valve. Unfortunately, plumber left a mess ever time he was here. Final blow was he cut holes in the drywall and did not tell he was going to. Called the service manager and he told me EVERYONE knows you have to cut the walls when replacing the valve. Obviously, not everyone because I did not know. Service manager is arrogant and rude. I suugest you call ANYONE but these people. I had to call a handyman service to fix the walls. Now adding 400.00 to the total cost.

It was very good. They were on time; they were professional and explained why I had the leak and what he was going to do to fix it.

The block was fixed and a new piece of pipe installed at an outrageous price of over $600.00/hour. The original quote did not adequately explain the work to be done. It was much less complicated, I could have done it myself, and took less than an hour.

They were really good. They did a really good job. We felt that they were honest, hardworking and just came in and did the job. They were very personable and everything came out fine.

On Sunday morning I called to see if there was additional charge for coming out on weekend. There was not, and I was shocked. Within an hour of calling two men were at my door to fix kitchen piping that was backed up and replace a garbage disposal that was leaking. They were polite and respectful and explained the problem and the cost up front so there was no confusion or guessing. I really appreciated that. They spent several hours taking care of the mess and cleaned up after themselves so that when job was finished there was no sign they had been there. They were kind enough to explain why this happened and what I could do in the future to prevent it and again, I really appreciated that. Everything is working again and I would recommend this company to anyone.

I have no idea about the quality of work because it has only been in place for 6 months.

This plumbing company gave me an estimate for services to repair this leaky tub for $2200. I felt this to be outrageous, so I sought additional estimates. The next plumbing company that came to see my problem charged me $140 to fix the leak (which only took 45 minutes). This company does NOT belong on the "Best of Norfolk." This company should not be used by any reasonable customer. I would never have them complete an estimate again for work because all they do is charge you $78 to mis-diagnose your problem.

The A-1 employee was hardworking, diligent, and professional. For what was accomplished, the charge was just too high.

I called them and they came out and fixed the leak. I felt that the charges were too high.

We have always been happy with them. They are very responsive. The people they send out are very helpful, knowledgeable and efficient. We haven?t done a lot of comparison regarding their price but we think it is fair.

Called with a leaking hot water pipe, they showed up, van wasn't marked as A-1. two guys crawled under the house, looked at my leak, lead plumber got out his price sheet and showed me what it was going to cost with military discount. They were very responsive, fixed the leak within 45 minutes. I have a $745 souvenir. Overall a good experience, but plumbing certainly has gotten expensive.

He did fine with the connection. He was here an hour which I than was longer than it should have taken and I was given a bill for $750.00. Outrageous!!!!!! I will never use these people ever again!!

They are prompt and reliable, also knowledgeable because of having to find the right pipe. They did a very neat job and cleaned up after themselves and repaired the wall.

Phil did the work in less than two hours and came in under his estimate. I will use him for any future plumbing needs.

They did a very good job on the work that they did. We have had no problems with it leaking since. The owner was a Christian man. He was very trustworthy and honest to work with. The worker had great manners. We had hired another company first to do the job however they ran off with our money. They ended up giving up a good deal as they charged us 600 dollars less then the other company wanted.

I had serious problems with this company. The first time that they were out they changed the heating pump on our furnace. It still didn't work, so I called them back. Then they checked the thermostat, and that was not the problem. I was upset that every time they came back, they kept charging me and not fixing the problem at hand. I feel that they were just trying to band aide the real problem.

This was the first time I used this plumbing company. I reserve judgment on the high grade. The guy did an okay job on this. He cleaned up after himself. He was a very nice man.
