Midland Tree Services

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! This does not seem to be a legitimate business. Red-headed guy with a beard was going door-to-door soliciting tree services. Said he was working on the neighbor's house and could give us a discount because he could do the work at the same time. We told the guy, Robert Jones, what we needed to have done, and he kept repeating it back to us and the price just kept going up higher and higher. When we came home the next day to see what was done, we were surprised to see that just a few small branches had been cut off some of the trees and some underbrush was cleared out (and left in the yard, despite instructions to move it into the wooded area behind the fence). We learned that this worker was told to collect his payment from both us and our neighbor (who also paid in full up front). When he learned that we'd already paid, he got very angry and said that this guy does this to him all the time and he never gets paid. He left before finishing, and apologized and said that he personally wouldn't be back to do any more work. Calls to Midland went unanswered until the phone went out of service. As of now, we're out $1,200 and our neighbor is out even more, and what little work has been done could have been done by a high-school student with a small saw and a ladder in less than an hour.
