Called before he showed up quickly got to work. Recommended replacing some old pipes, gave a quote got to work fixed the problem all working well. I would recommend this company to anyone needing plumbing work done. Gave me information on replacing my hot water tank.

There isn't much more I can say other than WOW. Tim came out to our home, was incredibly friendly and informative. He quickly got to work and got our water heater maintenance done. I can't say enough good things about Fitch Specialties. I will definitely use them again!

I can not speak highly enough about my experience with this company. I found out (during a termite inspection) that my water heater was leaking pretty badly underneath the house. I saw reviews for Fitch on Angie's list and a special for removing and replacing a water heater. I bought the deal on Saturday afternoon, and email the circumstances to the company. I received a reply requesting details within 24 hours (even though it was the weekend). I was contacted by Tim (even though he was out of state on vacation). Unfortunately, my furnace was 'encased' behind doors and bookshelves that had been installed by a previous owner, with the furnace and all it's pipes running in front of it. They came and looked at, spent time figuring out the best way to get the old unit out and a new one in - which was a real challenge. They came Wednesday, as scheduled, removed necessary pipes to get the old unit out, got the new unit in, and reconnected furnace pipes, etc. They could not have been more professional and hard working, vaccumed and cleaned the place up after everything was done. I would definately recommend them to others, and will use them again in the future!

You know it is going to be a no-good-very-bad-rotten day when you go to take your morning shower and there is no hot water? it has happened before, and not that long ago, and you know what the problem is ? the hot water heater. That was the start of my day at 5:30 and going into the utility room I saw that the hot water heater was leaking a steady stream into the emergency drain pan. I turned off the water supply and then got onto Angie?s List to find a plumber. I called Fitch Specialties and left a message and had a return call from the owner, Tim, within 15 minutes. I explained the situation and Tim was at the house later that morning. He arrived in a large van which contained all the supplies needed for the job ? including several water heaters. This allowed him to work without once leaving to run and get supplies or part. To jump to the end: we had a new tank-less water heater installed and working before Tim left that same day! We?d rather be without power than without hot water so we were very pleased! Tim did an amazing job and an incredible amount of work without assistance (other than me cleaning up some water and such) and without taking a break or leaving the house. Start to finish he worked to remove the old, busted water heater and install the new tank-less one. This entailed running a new gas supply line (thankfully the incoming gas supply was right there at the utility room) and removing the old exhaust assembly. Tim was able to put the new exhaust assembly into the old, existing hole through the wall ? which saved time and saved me from having to worry about yet another hole in the wall. Tim ran new piping and got the water running again the same day. This is our 3rd water heater, and our 1st (and hopefully last) tank-less. We?d recommend calling Tim Fitch of Fitch Specialties when you need help with plumbing. He?ll certainly be the first one we call in the future.

When I started looking for gas water heater professional to furnish and install, I found Tim on Angie's List. It appeared that perhaps Tim could walk on water since the reviews that I read were all extremely positive. After hiring Tim, I can say that the reviews were correct; Tim was outstanding. He was all business and extremely knowledgeable. He showed up on schedule with all material required, removed the old gas water heater and installed new water heater. Further, at my request, he even provided pricing for extra work, ran drain line from water heater to garage sink and even repaired leak in copper water line in my crawl space. All work described was completed in a little over two (2) hours. My neighbors have Tim's number now. I will definitely call Tim if I have other projects that he would be interested in.

Very professional and informative. He had come by earlier to check the job and then sent an estimate by email. After I agreed to cost, an installation date was established. Job was done promptly and cleanup was done. I will request a maintenance contract for the future.

Tim was very punctual, professional and courteous. He drained, removed and replaced my upstairs hot water heater without making a mess. The unit was rusted, however he ensured my carpet stayed spotless. I would like to thanks him and his team for squeezing me in their tight schedule. They were superb at completing the task!

.Called company at 7:57am (they open at 8am) and the owner answer the phone. After explaining to him that I had a leaking heater "flooding" my garage I asked if he could come and replace the heater. I told him I had looked him up on Angie's List and wanted to do the job for the price advertised. He (Tim) asked about height, stand, and flue characteristics of the current unit. After giving him the info he said he didn't have a crew available right away but that he could respond and be there (my house) before noon (and would call when he was ~30 mins out). I got the call about 10am, Tim was at the house with the right size unit by 10:20am , the unit was removed/replaced, filled and fired-up by 12:10pm. After removing his tools, cleaning up the small amount of installation debris Tim was on the road with check in hand before 12:30pm. Overall a very good experience with a professional that was more than able to provide the service I needed at very short notice. One more comment, Tim bought the unit that morning on my verbal commitment over the phone to hire his company. When he arrived I reverified with him that he would honor the price given on Angie's list with a hand shake (not a written contract). This hand shake was honored without any mention about extra fittings, taxes, transportation, removal of the old unit etc. My receipt was e-mailed to me before he left the premises (he uses those hi-tech touch pads). What's not to like.

After moving into my new home in Carrollton VA several items were identified as needing repair or replacement. My Hot Water Heater was most troubling. I looked on Angies List to find a local plumber with a good rating. I found Fitch Specialities. I contact them and was treated very well. I was contacted by the owner concerning my issues. We set up an appointment for my issue to be inspected to determine a course of action. Mr. Fitch came out and found that I needed a new Hot Water Heater. He gave me a time that the work could be done. We agreed on the time. He showed up and replaced my Hot Water Heater in very quick time. I asked him to show me a couple of other items and he gladly assisted my wife and I with our Gas Fireplace and one of our troublesome toilets. He and his employee were very professional. I would recommend this company for any plumbing issue you may have. As a matter of fact he is coming back to fix the troublesome toilet.

They were very professional. They gave us ball park estimates, but when the actual quote came back it was substantially higher than the estimates; however it was a very very detailed estimate. I had gotten estimates from two other providers that were recommended, but I had to say both my husband and I felt that even though this was the highest price, we really felt that he knew what he was doing. Paying this much money, I needed to make sure that we got the right person for the job. The work hasn't been inspected yet, but they took care of everything. The final inspection takes an entire day so we had to make sure we were home all day for it. So when we get the inspection hopefully they will tell us that everything has been done correctly.

Called on phone talked to Timothy Fitch (owner of the company) He gave me a price and we set a date for one of his technicians to service the units. Technician arrive on time (was very personable) and serviced both units. We look forward to seeing them again next year.

After failure of our the water conditioner serving our well, our Rinnai tankless heater quit producing hot water with any pressure. We suspected it was clogged with rust and minerals and called Mr. Fitch at 5:30 one evening after finding him on Angies List. A service person was at our home at 7:30 the next morning. He cleaned the unit, ran descaling fluid through the lines, and changed the filter. Then he tested the system and made some changes to improve water flow. Finally, he went around to every faucet and showerhead to clear them of any sediment and debris from our compromised water. We asked about getting on a regular maintenance plan and were added to an annual service schedule. We were impressed with the service specialist's knowledge and professionalism, and would not hesitate to have him back in our home. We also received a 10% Angie's list discount.

I caught Mr. Fitch between jobs on a Friday. He came over, diagnosed the problem with the failed heater, and recommended replacement given its 8 year age and type. We spoke about my preferences and we considered options. He produced a proposal on the spot which I accepted. He and his employee did the work on Saturday morning. The completed installation was "This Old House" pretty with neat pipe dress, crimped fittings, pipes labeled, valves color coded for hot and cold, all required pressure tests, etc. The installation included all of the valves and fittings needed to perform the yearly cleaning procedure. All fittings are accessible and easily operated. A very professional finished job drawing praise from my renovation plumber when he added the optional recirculator. A recirculator keeps the hot water header warm by periodically recirculating the water in the header. This convenience feature is about $1500 installed and integrates with the water heater controls. With this feature, warm water is instantly available for hand washing and the wait for shower water is significantly reduced. Tankless water heaters are pricy but have twice the service life of a conventional gas heater. They have the advantage of supplying all of the needs of a large household without going cool. No waiting between showers for the water heater to recover. They require annual cleaning with vinegar, which plumbers don't like to do but is within the abilities of most home owners. Fitch Specialties includes all fixed valves and fittings needed to perform the procedure.

Tim Fitch is very professional and responsive. He is an expert in his trade and I would hire him again for any plumbing work I needed. He did the work over a year ago and the water heater has functioned perfectly. The unit is neatly and solidly installed. There's not much more to say because the Rinnai is a high quality unit that was flawlessly installed. I have confidence that it will give many years of service.

Tim replaced our 50 gallon water heater in our attic with a Rinnai tankless. He had to come up with a new configuration and mounting system and also incorporated an automatic leak valve on the system. His price was thousands less that local competitors and the service Tim has provided ever since has been spectacular. Tim is easy to talk to, is genuinely interested in understanding the customer?s concerns and desires, translates his superb understanding into actions, and provides the customer with exactly what is expected. Tim is a class-act, responsive, professional, timely, and reasonably priced. The BEST tankless representative in Hampton Roads! Would recommend him (and have) and anyone looking to go tankless.

We called Fitch Specialties in August 2011 to get a quote for a tankless water heater in our home. At the time, our existing heater was functioning, so we made the decision to wait on the purchase. When our water heater failed this past weekend, I called Tim Fitch on a Tuesday at 10 AM and not only was he able to find my 2 year old quote and honor it with some minor updates, he was able to be at my home by 12:45 and had my new unit up and running by 4:30 PM. Tim was very knowledgeable about the product and he and his assistant were quick, thorough and friendly. We are thrilled with our new Rinnai RU-75 heater and would use Tim again for maintenance and repair, if needed. Great work!

Tim was fabulous! He knows his stuff which was the most impressive thing right off the bat. He was able to answer all of my hot water heater questions and brought up other answers to questions I didn't know I had. We talked about different types of heaters, what they cost now and what they would cost me in the future. One of the questions to come up was my water pressure, which was very low. I had no idea why it was low but Tim pointed out that my older house more then likely had older, galvanized pipes that were corroded inside, shrinking the pipe diameter and thereby cutting down the flow. We decided that replacing all of the old pipes would be the way to go. This would increase the water pressure, making it possible for me to have the tankless water heater that I wanted. He printed out three estimates for me, for the tankless and two other heaters with tanks, and I did my research overnight, calling him the next day with more questions. He was always gracious and willing to go into details for me, making my decision easier to make. I gave him my choice and we set up a day for him and his crewman, Mike to do the job. They were at my house all day, not leaving until everything was done to Tim's satisfaction. I had called with a pretty big change, to put the water heater inside rather than outside, and I made this change the night before they came. Tim didn't skip a beat, took care of everything smooth as silk. I couldn't have been happier with their work and the difference in my water pressure is like night and day. Then, to top it off, Tim returns a few days later to install a cut off valve for me, something I needed but didn't ask for! He was just too kind and courteous and wanted to do "the right thing" by me. I can't say enough about Tim and Mike, they know their stuff, they work hard, and they're thorough. I have four dogs and four foster kittens and they were just as careful to work around them as they were to work around me! I have already recommended Tim Fitch to my neighbors and will continue to recommend him, I was very impressed with his work. I must admit here that I am not an easy customer. I expect good service and I expect good products. I got both from Tim. I can't say enough good things about Fitch Specialties!

I had received from Rinnai, 3 plumbers certified to install the Rinnai products. I sent out emails to two of the plumbers based on previous Angie's List reviews and both replied in a timely manner. Both owners of their respective companies came out to provide estimates. I chose Fitch Specialties because of the following reasons. 1. Tim Fitch (the owner), arrived on time. 2. Mr. Fitch put booties on his boots to protect my floors and carpet. 3. He provided excellent description and information on the 2 Rinnai tankless heaters that would be best for my house size, giving detailed pros and cons between each product. 4. He provided detailed step by step description what need to be accomplished from start to finish including what may be issues that he has seen from previous installations. On the day of the installation, his assistant was here on time and Mr. Fitch arrived shortly there after (he had called stating he personality would be about 1 hr late). His assistant put booties on his boots and drained and removed the old tank water heater. By then Mr. Fitch arrived and the two of them work all day like a "well oiled machine". At one point the electrician they use arrived to install the power in the closet and without extra charge fixed the shorted out light fixture in the attic. The entire installation of the water heater went smoothly. In installing the gas line to the kitchen, they cut only the holes in the walls as necessary and installed required access panels where the holes were. Again the installation was professional. The entire experience with Fitch Specialties was very professional. They worked without stopping except for a short lunch. When they were done they cleaned up so well it did not look like they were ever here. Mr. Fitch took care of all the permits and the coordination with Virginia Natural Gas to replace my gas meter with the required larger meter. Mr. Fitch even scheduled the city inspection and was there to answer any questions and to fix if necessary any inspection findings. I can not say enough about how pleased I was with Fitch Specialties and with Tim Fitch's and his assistance's professionalism and pride in thir work. I have hired him to conduct the yearly maintenance for my new tankless water heater. Tim Fitch will be my plumber from now on.

A cold shower greeted me on Friday Feb 1. I attempted to relight the water heater during my lunch hour but it failed to light. Having met Fitch Specialties at Norfolk Homarama, I called them. By coincidence, the owner was in the area and was able to stop by to examine the failed 8 year old tank type gas water heater. Tim attempted the light off procedure and had no success. Apparently the safety control had failed. Given the age of the unit, I considered it beyond economic repair and asked Tim to quote a replacement. After a quick interview and stock check, Tim produced a proposal to install a Rinnai tankless water heater in the existing unconditioned utility closet. Tim's estimate was professional including itemized materials and professional services. I accepted Tim's proposal. On Saturday, Tim and assisting plumber Mike arrived promptly at 0800, began removal of the old boiler and preparation of the roof to receive the new flue. Tim and Mike discussed each phase of the work and worked together as an experienced team. They completed the installation in about 4 hours. The completed installation had the appearance of the top shelf work shown on This Old House. Plumbing dress was neat using copper tubing for the new gas supply line and PVC for the cold water supply and hot water drop to to the house header. The gas and water plumbing were planned to minimize interruption of water and heat. The machine was mounted on new 3/4 inch plywood and new plastic duct work run to the existing roof penetration. At the completion of installation, Mike briefed me on equipment startup, temperature adjustment procedures, and recommended annual maintenance (descaling using citric acid -- similar to cleaning a coffee maker). They also reviewed freeze precautions (these are also covered in the owners manual). The unit has freeze protection but can freeze during a prolonged winter power outage if not drained. The installation includes the necessary connections and valves for both the flush procedure and the drain procedure. Although flushing is not difficult, it does require a small pump to recirculate the cleaning solution so professional service is recommended. Fitch Specialties specializes in residential and commercial water heating and home heating boilers. The company does everything from modest house water heater replacements like mine to large scale installations for schools, nursing homes, and restaurants. Tim is very knowledgeable of the Rinnai product line and the appropriate trade practices. He is equally at ease talking to former naval nuclear propulsion folk like me and to lay customers. His presentation was always professional and his explanations consistent with good engineering practice. The materials and techniques he used give a high probability of a trouble free installation with no leaks or other problems common with older techniques. The machine started and has performed as advertised. A rough cost breakdown of this job is $1100 for 8 hours of professional services and sales overhead, $1700 for the boiler, and about $500 for gas pipe and fittings, PVC pipe and fittings, and the vent and supply duct work and termination. At the completion of work, the work area was broom clean, the yard neat, and the old water heater, scraps, and packing material loaded up for transport to the transfer station. Fitch Specialties routinely does one to three day replacement of failed equipment, scheduled annual maintenance, and corrective maintenance.
