Shiner was extremely responsive to the initial request for a quote and someone out to the house in just a day or two after my initial call. The person who came to the house did a thorough inspection of the area that was leaking, including lots of pictures both inside and outside. The quote was very detailed and explained the exact services to be rendered. Once we agreed to the quote, they had someone out within a couple of weeks--other companies had said it would be 6-8 weeks before we could be scheduled. Work was completed in one day (as promised).

Window replacement went smooth without a glitch.

Do feel free to ask any and all questions at the initial product presentation. They have the answers, they have samples, they have demos to show why they recommend the choice that they do, how those choices compare to others - they do have alternatives including your own preferred manufacturer. They will explain how it will be installed, what we need to do before the installers come, and what to expect once they arrive (exactly what they will do, how much interior access they will need, how long you will have empty window openings letting cold air in, etc). They then walk you through the options on each window - interior, exterior or no stiles, pane design, number and configuration of panes, low e or no e gas type, e values, tilt or no tilt, color of window and exterior frame wrap, full screen, half screen or no screen, etc. They do this answering questions and showing you pictures and providing specs on all the options. They also take rough measurements and give you a detailed estimate. After you pay the down payment, in a very few days a detailed measurement is taken by the installers for ordering the manufacturing of the windows. He also checked each window to tell us specifically what we needed to move for them to do their job efficiently. We were told how long the manufacturing would take (I forget, but it was about three weeks) and we got a call a little before we expected from the installer arranging an install date. In less than 2 weeks the installers arrived. As soon as they arrived with a 2 man install team , they laid cloth throughout the house to keep the floors clean, told me the order they were going to install the windows and confirmed that they expected to be done by COB. They also asked about the gardens to locate plants that needed to be avoided or protected (I have several rare plants that they needed to avoid). They got right to work, I never saw them take a break, and they remained focused until they were done. Any questions I asked they responded right away or checked out anything I was concerned with. It didn't take long to realize I had not reason to be concerned about anything. Each worker removed a window and stayed on it until the replacement window was roughly installed to keep the chilly air out as much as possible. Probably in an hour all the windows were placed and the real detailed installation began. When they thought they might not finish as promised, they called in an additional installer. The work was beautiful - far better than I had imagined. They were done as promised without a hint they had ever been there it was so clean. At my request they left the special color caulking that was left over for my use and reference. In a week a quality check was performed by a specialist who just does that work. He really gave the windows a workout, finding a 6" section on one window where caulking had been missed and finding a tiny tear in a screen that led him to replace the screen without a comment from me. The examiner used a little of the left over caulk to complete that missing part. In the middle I had a financial crisis and I had to change financing. Not a problem. They worked it out in minutes with an arrangement that met all my new needs. After all was done, the new financial arrangements went ahead without a hesitation. At this point I am enjoying a warm, cozy, and quite pleased winter.

It was a basic roof repair from a leak. Shiner came in at a reasonable estimate in comparison to other companies on Angie's list. The person conducting the estimate (Jason Ayers) was very knowledgeable and extremely professional. The work was performed on time, within estimate and seemingly well done. The only thing that keeps me from giving them all A's is because the work crew damaged slightly the gutter when hauling the shingles and the plywood onto the roof, which was only an 8 foot climb from the deck. Had they used a ladder stabilizer, which I had available to them, the gutter wouldn't need to be touched. They must have clearly noticed the scraps and dents to the gutter but continued to place pressure against it. Why am I still giving the company and overall A? The work was done on time, without fuss, at a great cost and Jason Ayers's handling of the estimate in comparison to the other companies really stood out. I signed the contract and cancelled the next estimate once he walked through the repair with me. Just because a few workers didn't show proper professionalism shouldn't greatly change the quality assessment of the company. I talked with the company and will send picture of the damage. I'm sure they will make sure that crew doesn't make the same mistake again.

The inpressive estimator is discussed above; the crew arrived on the day the promised and on time; they covered all the plantings around our house with tarps; removed the old shingles and damaged wood and reshingled the roof in a day. They cleaned up all the old shingles and wood; then used a magnet to get all the nails. (We've not found a single nail in our garden or lawn, which is something of a minor miracle). The gutter and downspout installation team came a day or so later and finished their work in a couple of hours. After both installation teams had left they left the garden and grounds near our house looking exactly as they had found it - we just had a new roof and gutters. In short, everyone we dealt with from Shiner - from the receptionist on the phone, the estimator, and the crews (they told us all their installation staff works for the company - no day laborers) were prompt, professional, hard-working, careful. Honestly, I can't imagine how their performance could be improved on. There is pride in craft, workmanship and professionalism in this company - it just shines (no pun intended) through on every aspects of our dealing with them. Five stars!

The estimate was quick and professional. The job started on time. The workers were neat, thorough and timely. Excellent job!

Shiner responded to the inquiry immediately, set up a visit to determine the materials and price and worked with us on wording for the contract to accurately reflect what materials were to be used. Of course they don't control the weather, so we did have some weather delays in beginning. However, once they started they worked diligently and carefully. It did take a second visit to complete the soffitt work but again, they were careful, professional and the workmanship is excellent.

They were punctual, professional, and polite. They told me each day what they had done and what would be done next. They kept everything clean and I was thrilled with the results.

I called for estimate and someone came out within two days.Very professional. Repair was done within a week. Man who did repair was very professional and on time.I was extremely pleased.

They did it quickly and thoroughly, but we had to have them come back for a couple of details. Although they knocked off our gutter screen, they are coming soon to replace/fix it. They also did a couple of extra things in our attic while they reattached some flashing.

The sky light that was leaking continued to leak. We called for warranty repair. I had to sign and fax back paperwork before they woud do the job which was exceedingly inconvenient, but otherwise they were very prompt and professional in handling the follow up work. Time will tell whether this effort actually fixed the problem.If this fix works, then I might consider using them again given their professionalism.

The experience was excellent from top to bottom! From sales representative through office admin staff, prod. manager, work crew and lastly and final inspection/ inspector. they were all excellent. It was absolutely an exceptional experience.

Overall it was a great experience working with Shiner from start to finish. John Campbell did a fantastic job coming out and assessing my roof and walking me through what the company had to offer. He guided me through the process and provided quick answers to all of my questions without being pushy. This was indicative of all of the service I received from the company. They answered my questions every step of the way and ensured I was well informed of what their team was going to be doing on what day. The work turned out great and I have absolutely no complaints, only positive things to say about this company and my experience working with them.

Jim was punctual, friendly and very professional. He took a sample of our siding because he suspected it was asbestos. He called me a few days later to explain that his company believed the sample contained asbestos, and as a result would have to send the sample for testing before he could get me an official estimate. The ramifciations of this would be an EPA asbestos report being filed and a bid that would be twice as much as anyone else's. He wanted to speak with me before all of this was done to prevent unnecessary work on his part, and a huge hassle on mine. I truly appreciate his honesty and customer service, and will absolutely call Shiner for estimates on all my home improvements in the future.

They did a wonderful job. It's marvelous and we can see out it very well. It keeps out the cold air. I can tell the difference in the room with the new doors. I'm very happy with the way they did it. It's sturdy and it closes well. It's just perfect. It couldn't have been done better.

The crew called to inform that they were coming. They were on time, covered the floor and worked till they finished. Good job! They cleaned up and were well mannered.

While not inexpensive, they were very professional in every phase of the work. The estimators were very thorough - explaining everything that would be done and why they felt it was necessary. The installation was done right away, within days of our signing the contract. The inspector came and reported to me all that had been done and even picked up a couple of nails he found in the yard. We are quite pleased with the new roof and gutters.

The salesman, Scott, was very helpful with suggestions for the high quality materials I was looking for, and also recommendations of companies who could perform other related services I needed (chimney repair and cleaning for other sections of the roof). Boris was the job supervisor and he was EXCELLENT. He had good, creative ideas, and was always dependable, thorough, responsive, and courteous. He was very willing to spend whatever time was required to answer my questions and discuss all aspects of the job. I was very comfortable with him overseeing the entire process. The crew arrived right on schedule each day, did an excellent job, and cleaned up the work site. I was very happy with Shiner and plan to use them again when the rest of my roof needs to be replaced.

I did not like Shiner Roofing. I though they were pushy. Their phone calls boarded on harassment. They were no way as thorough as the others. He acted very professional when he was here, but then became very pushy. I was not impressed by them at all. I would not use them in the future.

This was the first time that I used them. Their estimator stood out for his knowledge and all that he did to look at the roof. I asked them to replace the initial ventilation that they were going to install as I did not like the looks of it and they listened and never charged me anything extra. They took only a couple of days to finish the job. I would use them again in the future.

I had a leak around the chimney, he showed me pictures of before, and after he fixed it. The pictures are a good thing. I was not concerned or upset about the price, I thought it was fair. The very nice young man was the owner's son, he was extremely polite, and I was very comfortable with him.
