Adelphia Exteriors

Adelphia was a pleasure to work with - did a great job of explaining insulation options. They even identified areas of the attic where it didn't make sense to cover (e.g., over the garage), so that helped keep the cost down and they did not try to oversell excessive depths of insulation. We did this as part of a $99 for $500 worth of insulation deal. Effectively, that ended up being a "discount" on cost that exceeded $500 We have a big attic, but I was still a little surprised that the total cost even with the discount was as much as it ended up being, but overall, I still thought the combination of service, honesty, and price was very positive.

I had little concept of what an insulation job for my 23x30 footprint townhome would cost. I purchased the $99 for $500 worth of insulation services special. I didn't expect the attic to be insulated for $500, but was surprised to get a quote of approx $900 after the $500 discount and didn't immediately commence work. Adelphia noted that Angie's List would refund the $99 or if not, they would even refund it. I got another estimate for the job which was right in line with Adelphia's before-discount price and so I hired Adephia. They were punctual, professional and laid/hung plastic to protect the attic entry area from any flying insulation. They left my home clean, with no evidence of their work - other than it now being warmer.

Amazing! #1 George gave a top-notch presentation that educated me on insulation and things that I had no idea about (but needed to know as a homeowner). He was honest, straightforward and looked to help us find ways to keep the pricing down (my husband ended up doing some grunt work prior to the installation in taking out old insulation that was in bad shape likely due to a questionable roofer we had had years prior). He also made it clear that we could spend lots of money trying to insulate areas throughout the house - closets, window areas, etc. #2 The team came not only on time but early. They were professional, kept focused on their task and that allowed me to focus on my work. #3 They cleaned up masterfully afterward. I was so impressed by this! #4 and the BIG ONE Instantly I saw the difference in our upstairs area of the house. It was no longer freezing. We didn't need extra blankets at night. The upstairs level was significantly hotter than the lower levels. I hired Adelphia Exteriors to install blown-in insulation in attic when they had a $99 for $500 credit special. The additional cost was $1500 so total was $1600, a very competitive price. We only had 6in to start and now have 18in. This included a barrier against the interior ceiling so insulation doesn't spread into outlying crevices. The upstairs was cooler within a couple of hours, and although still warmer than downstairs, it's tolerable! The install went smoothly until one of the two people that came out accidentally stepped incorrectly, causing damage to our bathroom ceiling. They were very apologetic about it and did have someone come out to repair it immediately the next day. We have 1980s textured ceilings that are difficult to fix, but they did an excellent job. Frankly, we have a very low ceiling in the attic so I can see how that can happen easily. I really liked the people that came out and I like that it's a family owned company. I would definitely recommend them. Tip: If you need to replace a bathroom fan, do that before having the insulation done.

They came out and told me that my insulation was good and that I didn't need the service.

He was great. We didn’t go forward with it, since he didn’t recommend removing insulation and we got a different estimate that did who we decided to use. However, we liked him and would definitely consider using Adelphia again.

Adelphia Exteriors came out to measure my window and complete the insulation job as contracted. They were prompt, courteous, considerate of my home, clean, and expeditious and not to forget that they did an amazing job!. I still have some more work to be done from Adelphia Exteriors, however I am very pleased with what they have accomplished thus far. I will also add that they were exceptionally priced, compared to many others I have received quotes from.

Adelphia Exteriors was very professonal from the start. They honored the add placed in Angies list for a discount on attic installation. The job was completed in early November 2014. The technician arrived on time and he and his assistant finished the job in about 2 hours. They used the proper equipment and covered my floor and steps and left my house in good condition with no mess upon leaving. The manager George was very patient even though I had to change my appointment a few times. I now have R-30 ten inches plus attic insullation (Eco-friendly type) and I could feel the immediate difference and warmth in my upstairs bedrooms. I would recommend this company to others who need this type of service at a moderate price.

I don't like the idea that one person came into evaluate and another person came to do the insulation. They did not leave any invoice or statement. I received a bill one month later for $904 it is not very descriptive and it does not indicate that I purchased the Big Deal. It was unsatisfactory, very unprofessional. They may have efficiently done the job but they were inefficient about the paperwork following up.

Overall, great service. I bought the $100 for $500 of blown in insulation from Adelphia Exteriors and am very pleased. From the first contact to the end result, great job. George showed up on time for the inspection and attic recommendation. Like most homes, we had the code minimum that has settled overtime. George recommended approx. 11 inches to provide my family and I with at least an R30 rating. Technicians showed up on time and performed an inspection of the attic looking for clogged vents and also added a dome around the ceiling fans at my request. They also installed rulers ever few feet to show tha amount of insulation in the area. Then the fun began blowing in around 11 inches of insulation across 1800 sq ft attic. When complete, there was an even 18 1/2 inches of insulation across the attic. Can't wait to see how this improves the heat upstairs my electric bill. In and out in under two hours, with clean up.

George came out exactly on time, on short notice, and took 30 minutes to evaluate the situation and talk me through my options. He knew early on that his company was not the best company to address this particular problem, and admitted that I should call some of the other companies he suggested. Still, he took the time to talk me through my options and the challenges involved, and he was very knowledgeable and pleasant. A true professional.

It went very well. Overall, I am very satisfied. Although the advertisement is a bit misleading, the representative from Adelphia explained everything to me ensuring I clearly understood what was involved with the discount from Angie's List. The overall discount was $500.00, which made the deal very economical. In fact, I had an estimate done last winter and the company wanted to charge me three times what Adelphia charged for the same work. The team showed up last Saturday on time and ready to work. They explained exactly what was to be done and went to it. They used all the measures necessary to keep the house clean and dust free. They even offered an opportunity for me to look in the attic to see the finished project. Other than the machine running, I could hardly tell they were there. At the end, they cleaned up the work area and asked me if I had any questions or concerns. Very professional. Lastly, there was no pressure for payment. I mailed the deposit after we set up a date for the install and the company sent me an invoice after the work was completed, although I was expecting to pay the installation team. I would certainly use them again if I had a similar job. By the way, they do other handyman work and I plan to keep their number close just in case I have work that i want to get accomplished next Spring.

They came and provided an estimate. The final estimate was much higher than we expected. The $500 was actually a discount towards the full price for the insulation, not the cost for the insulation service. For instance, the total price offered was $2,300 and $500 coupon was applied, and the final price was $1,800. I felt the coupon was not very clear with the offer.

It was great. George came to my house and gave me a primer on insulation. with a slide presentation. What I didn't know about insulation!. He did an extensive inspection of my attic, noting I had no signs of mold or insects. We discussed what I would need to provide adequate insulation. We agreed what my needs were and scheduled an installation date. His installers were on time and did an excellent job. They were polite and explained what they were doing, which I appreciated. George is an credit to his company. He called tonight to see how the job went. That doesn't happen much and is a tribute to his commitment to providing excellent customer relations. I would highly recommend him!!!

I have a 3 level, 2300 sq ft home that was built in 1986. I've been in the house 15 years and have had major renovations done using multiple contractors and companies throughout the years. My initial meeting with George Koutsis (member of the family that owns the company) went very well. I had a lot of questions about how to make my home more comfortable. What impressed me was that Mr. Koutsis never attempted to "up sell" me anything. I asked about having additional insulation installed in the walls where we have brick facing. He told me that honestly, it wouldn't make enough of a difference to justify the cost. I appreciated the candid answer. I also asked about having an attic fan installed. Mr. Koutsis suggested I hold off because he felt the insulation would make enough of a difference so the fan wouldn't be necessary. We set an installation appointment after her explained what the process and cost would be. On install day, the two person crew arrived exactly when I was told to expect them. They ran a line through the upstairs bathroom window to install the insulation. They were very proficient and left the house immaculate. The install took about two hours from start to finish. They installed soffit extenders, filled the attic up to 20 inches of insulation (I started with about 8 - 13 inches) and insulated the hatch door, exactly as agreed upon. Excellent and very professional service. I could tell a difference in the comfort of my home immediately. Our upstairs has always been very chilly - even after having new windows installed. We've been having a particularly brutal cold snap in our area and our upstairs is warm and snug. I can't believe the difference the added insulation has made to the comfort of my home. Adelphia Exteriors is one of the best companies I've had work on my home. My only regret is that I didn't know about them for some of the other jobs I've had done over the years.

I decided not to use his service, since the amount of money was too high for the work we wanted done. Nice man, kind, timely.

It went very well. They came on time went straight to work putting down plastic and bringing the house up to the 3rd floor. Completed the job very fast and everything looked great in the attic.

Adelphie Exteriors came to the house to do an assessment and determined that insufficient work space was available in the attic to perform the service. They recommended requesting a refund.

They were very helpful in answering questions but basically they aren't able to perform the job and informed me my insulation was good. Even though no work was done, they were polite and kind.

They came and looked at the job and gave me an estimate. I thought that it was to high and have decided not to use the deal.

Adelphia did an outstanding job of customer service. The sales rep George came to my home, was very courteous and responded to all of my questions. His team came on time, turned the job around quickly and cleanly. George and his staff followed up to make sure I was happy with the job, which I most definitely am. I have no reservations recommending Adelphia.

We requested for cost estimate for our windows. George was very prompt on providing the estimate and sample product. What we like most about Adelphia there are no pressure selling and quoted price don't expire and they waited until we are ready to proceed with the job. After confirming our order waited for three weeks and installation went smoothly in less than a day. Staffs are very professional and punctual. Overall rating excellent job. Will recommend them to our family and friends.
