Even though I waited until the last minute to do it, Hampton Roads Bounce was VERY accommodating and able to fulfill my order. I originally rented a small (15x15) bouncer for my daughter's birthday party. I set the reservation on Friday for the following Sunday, only 2 days away, and there were no issues. The price and availability as well as the selection of equipment is much better than others in the area. I compared them to 2-3 others before my reservation and selected them because of the pricing and the "Rocket" themed bouncer they had available which would compliment my daughter's "space" themed birthday party. On the day of the party, the two delivery servicemen were very professional and set up and explained to me the safety rules and features of the bounce house. After about 30 minutes (before her party started) the original bouncer we rented developed a leak that could caused it to deflate while my daughter was playing in it. My husband got her out and turned off the machine, and I called the service center. A woman that handles the reservations paged the delivery men and they came back to the house within 20 minutes. They looked at the damage, determined that it was not our fault, and neither of us could figure out what could have happened. The bouncer was VERY clean, no tape or other worn or damage spots. I am certain that it just must have been a fluke accident. The bouncer did NOT injure my child and my husband was able to get her out safely thanks to the instructions provided if the bouncer should deflate unintentionally. At any rate, the servicemen packed up the damaged bouncer and set up a much larger 6-n-1 bouncer at no additional charge for my daughter's birthday. In another ten minutes we were back to bouncing and none of the guests were even aware of the change, since the party was just starting at this point. The 6-n-1 bouncer was ideal and the kids LOVED it. It too was clean and seemed to be in good order, with no tape or signs of wear or damage. I am so happy with the service I received from everyone at this location. My daughter's birthday could not have gone better. I suggest to others that if you set your reservation time ahead of the start time for your event, so that just in case these mix-ups occur you are able to work through them without any interruption to your guests. Thanks to Hampton Roads Jump for a wonderful experience and we WILL be using them in the future.
Description of Work: I rented a bounce house for my daughter's 4th birthday party. Even though my reservation was less than 48 hours from the date I needed the bouncer, Hampton Roads Jump still honored my request. I expected to not be able to find anything available at the last minute, but this was NOT the case with Hampton Roads Jump.

On Sunday September 2nd we placed a 20.00 deposit on an order via Hampton Roads Jump web site for one Tinker Bell Bouncer/jumper for our child’s party. As noted in the initial order this bouncer/jumper was to be delivered on September 8th at 2:30 with a pickup time of 7pm. We immediately received an order confirmation on the September 2nd with times and payment information. On Tuesday, the 4th of September we receive a reminder e-mail which states in part “We often have to arrive several hours in advance in order to get all of our jumps delivered by the scheduled party times. There is no fee for extra time and your rental will still last the scheduled amount of time but if an early delivery will be a problem, please notify our office as soon as possible. We need someone at the time of delivery to sign safety rules, contracts and make payment. If the weather turns bad, there is no fee to cancel as long as you inform us before we set up. If you were required to pay a deposit, the deposit amount will be saved as a rain check available for credit within 1 year. Once we have set up, we have to pay our employees for their hard work and therefore we require full payment regardless of use.” On Friday the 7th of September we received a call Hampton Roads Jump; the owner I believed. He went on to say that he would like to deliver the bouncer/early at 9am the day of the party. My wife reluctantly agrees not knowing that I still had lawn work to complete. That night on the 7th Hampton Roads Jump then charges our credit card for the remaining balance of 132.10. This is unusual because most companies will wait to charger customers until the driver is actually heading your way to deliver the products. The following morning, the day of the birthday party I realized that I would not have the entire yard work complete. Moreover, the storm clouds were upon us. At 8am, my wife and called and spoke with the owner and advised them to deliver the bouncer according to the order as plan at 2:30p…The gentleman states that they could set up and leave and all I would have to is turn it on. I informed that I have not finishing cutting the grass where the jumper is going to be place; moreover, the weather did not look promising so it would be best to set up at 2:30pm as planned. The owner said “OK, let me alert my driver so he can deliver to Moyock”; then come to us. 2:30 arrives and Hampton Roads Jump is a no show. We called Hampton Roads Jump at 2:47pm, the lady on the phone asked for my wife’s name then said hold on to allow her to call the driver. She came back on the line and requested my wife’s name again and that’s when she said “We do not show an order for you.” She placed us on hold and never came back to the line. We call back several times to receive a greeting by an automated system that placed us on hold. No one picked up the phone. I called from our home line and both cell phones so it was apparent that they were avoiding us. At 4:20 after not hearing from or being about to contact Hampton Roads Jump we gave up. Guest was arriving and all the kids were asking ‘Where is the jump?”. To conclude, the Hampton Roads Jump did not show, said there was not order for us, left us on hold for indefinitely, and never attempted to re-contact us at all. We plan on contacting our local BBB to file a formal complaint as well. ****UPDATE: We did receive a refund check in the amount paid to this company. They placed a note in the memo section stating the refund was due to rain, which was not true. Also the owner place a note with check "Can you stop this now!" I guess he was referring to the fact that we report his business to the bank, and the BBB. This confirms my initial report regarding their lack of professionalism. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THEM, BUYER BEWARE.
Description of Work: My family (Green-Hicks) attempted to rent from Hampton Roads Jump a Tinker Bell Bouncer/ jumper for our 6 year old daughter’s birthday party; from 2:30pm till 7pm with guest arriving at 3:30pm. This rental included delivery and set up.
