Came on time, finished on time (2 days), floors like better than new

I should've written this review weeks ago, but wanted to give this company another chance to do right by me and our contract. Do yourself a favor and hire someone else. I met with several contractors for my flooring installation project and chose Floortechs based off the professionalism and knowledge during our consult. This was my first time hiring a company for a project like this, and after speaking with several relatives and friends who've done the same, I grossly overpaid. Communication was great in the beginning - completely changed after my final payment had been submitted. I ordered the flooring and thresholds through Home Depot. The flooring came when expected and was installed by Floortechs on the agreed upon dates. The thresholds were on back order. I let Floortechs know that I could likely install the thresholds myself. The response I received was "If you can't we can always swing by when we are in the area and place it for you." My response to this text was "Awesome, thank you." Also, the installation of thresholds is clearly written in our signed contract. Fast forward several weeks later and still nothing. I have reached out SEVERAL times to the POC and continue to receive excuses as to why the timing won't work. He even "reminded" me how I had offered to install the thresholds myself. The last point of contact between us was on July 11th where he tells me they can come one day as early as 7am to which I responded "7am would work great. What day?" Once again, no response. I submitted half of the payment before the work started and planned on submitting the remainder once the thresholds were installed. My POC asked me to submit the final payment before the thresholds had been done, which I didn't have a problem doing because the relationship had been great so far. As soon as that payment was submitted, his responsiveness drastically changed. Incredibly unprofessional. As far as the quality of the work they did do, it looks fine but it's not amazing. There is spacing between the baseboards and the floors in several locations, which seems like an easy fix if the right materials were placed underneath the vinyl. But I was simply told I would need to pay an additional $200 to $300 for shoe molding. I didn't want shoe molding. I wanted to project I paid for to look fantastic. There were also several dirty hand prints on my newly painted walls. They told me they would paint over these for me when they came back to do the thresholds. I'm now hiring a new company to install my thresholds, fix the spacing and paint over the dirt on the wall. I overpaid for this original project and will now be spending even more to fix it.

The work was good, but not great! Had a problem with the finished project and because the amount that they wanted to charge me was outrageous I ended up going with another contractor to complete the job and give me the finished product that I really wanted.

*UPDATE* They had the problem fixed. I hired them two weeks ago, they came and checked. I asked them to replace carpet and repaint the wall. Their price is higher than the market. HOWEVER, the next day, a carpet guy called me and asked me for the address. I give them instructions but why are they selling my information to a third party? After three days, they told me the job is finished. A few days later I went and checked, the carpet is very dirty. I messaged them, they told me, they are not sure and will check. Saturday told me Monday, Monday told me Tuesday, Tuesday told me Wednesday. I can't believe they don't even know how this work is going and no idea about how it was finished.

As with many company's these days there was problems with the finished work. However, the effort spent to cure all defects was very impressive. In the end, the job was correctly done without the need to twist the arms of the owner who was not only a nice guy but a real stand-up and honest person.

Great job on the floors.

It was a very small job (below the minimum sq. ft) but response was timely, contract signing/payment process was automated online, crew showed up on time, was pleasant, and completed the work without any issue! Would definitely recommend for other flooring jobs.

Senior Project Mgr was decent guy & seemed to try to do the job right, however, major disconnect between him and the people actually doing the work. People doing the work cut every corner possible to finish the job and get out the door and actually told me it's impossible for my floors to look as good as what was installed. Really??? Did not know it was rocket science to properly sand a floor and polyurethane it to look like new. But then again, people doing the work had no desire to do quality work. So keep that in mind when you think about hiring these people. UPDATE: After reading my review, SR. Project Mgr offered to fix some hardware damage for free if I would then remove the review. I agreed and appointment set for Monday between 8-9am. Wife took off work to be there and by 10:30am Monday they are a no-show and I sent text. Finally showed up at 11:23am and we sent them packing. Does not even enter their mind how things like this impact people who have jobs. Do not believe for a SECOND that Floortechs will do what they say they are going to do.

Randy and his team were fantastic. This was not an easy job, with dog urine stains requiring some floor replacement and issues with matching old and new boards. At every step of the process, they stayed in touch and talked through the options. No hard sell, no upselling, just total professionalism and courtesy. And they were able to match a lower bid. The final result was an incredibly beautiful floor, combining new and restored wood in a way that makes it almost impossible to tell which was which. I would not hesitate to use them again and urge you to trust them with your flooring needs.

They arrived on time and they did a great job. They cleaned up after working. My floor looks like new. Highly recommend Floor Techs

Quality work, easy to deal with.

Did a good job. Salesman said he would follow up with an email on how to maintain the floor but he did not.

Floortechs quote for our wood flooring project (44 stair steps and whole bedroom floor) was better than other two quotes I had collected. Easy to communicate and pricing is fair. Overall they did very good job in a very short time. Will recommend to others.

They were easy to reach by phone and by text message, got the wood floor refinish job done in a couple days. And when I realized I should have asked for gloss instead of semi-gloss they came out one more time to add the gloss coat at no extra charge.

The FloorTech team was excellent. They explained the entire process and updated me on the status throughout. My floors look terrific! I will highly recommend them.
