Work went very smoothly. It only took them a day and a half to tear off the shingles, replace some plywood, install a ridge vent and reshingle the roof. We are very impressed with the quality of products that Summit Roofing uses. It was the main reason we chose their bid. We are very satisfied with the outcome of our roofing project.

We could not get an itemized estimate. Sam wanted us to sign a contract without having an itemized contract or estimate. He gave us a lump sum estimate for the siding which was 5,000 more than the insurance estimate and we could not get an itemized estimate for the insurance company. Of the 3 companies we tried to get estimates from, Summit (Sam) is the only one that would not give us an itemized estimate on the siding and the lump sum he provided was much higher than everyone else. We also had to beg for the lump sum....he wanted to see what the insurance company estimated before he gave an estimate. Sam was very nasty and finally walked away because I wouldn't just sign a blank contract. Sam did not show an ounce of customer service. Some of our friends had Summit do their work and Summit did not do what was in the contract (roof vent, 30lb felt) and Sam argued with them and was very nasty when the issues were raised. If you use them, keep an eye on everything they do.

Summit Roofing Contractors, Inc. recently installed a new roof and repaired the front door portico on our home. If you are looking for a local Northern Virginia business who provides quality roofing services at a reasonable price, definitely contact Summit Roofing. Our estimator/project manager, Joe Ortiz was thorough and professional in his presentation. He was always available to answer any questions we had, from the start of the project to its completion. From the delivery of the shingles, to the workers who actually did the labor of removing the old roof, to installing the new roofing system, the work was done with absolute precision and care. Despite the brutally hot weather, the work was done professionally and efficiently. Upon completion of the job, all debris was removed and the area surrounding our house was cleaned to include a magnetic sweep of the grass. The crew worked well together and were organized and polite! Our front door portico repair was completed by a single worker who worked tirelessly in the extreme heat to reconstruct our rotten portico. The new roof and reconstructed portico has improved the curb appeal of our home and speaks volumes to the quality of work performed by Summit Roofing. We were also very pleased with the warranty provided by Summit Roofing and the additional factory warranty provided as a CertainTeed certified contractor. All in all, it was quite an experience to observe the planning, organizing and extensive labor that goes into installing a roof. Summit Roofing Contractors, Inc. did an outstanding job for us and we are very happy with the end results. We would highly recommend Summit Roofing to anyone!

I sent a message via Angie's List on July 31st and asked if they could come out and take a look at the job and give us a quote. I still have not heard from them, no response at all.

This company was good to work with, the lowest price, and followed through on the plan. After I took a while trying to get multiple quotes, this company was ~$1000 lower than another good estimate and had good reviews. They replaced the roof on my rental property (townhouse) and honestly I never actually met them (we talked on the phone several times, and emailed a bunch). They did good work, replaced 3 pieces of plywood that needed replacement, and overall, did a nice job. When my wife went to check on them, we were concerned they might not replace the roofing on the small townhouse porch, but they were planning to, and did it all professionally. Good work, good price.

The Sales Rep was totally professional and arrived with a complete roof diagram from satellite photos. He had all the information about shingle options and a set of brochures about the various types of materials. He explained the process and what to expect if his company performed the repairs. When the repair team arrived, they covered all the shrubs and lawn area that would get any debris landing on it. The team were totally professional and did an excellent job. No plants were damaged. Their cleanup included the use of magnets to pick up nails around the house.

Friendly professional staff. I contacted Summit Roofing for an estimate to replace my gutter system and upgrade with a covered one. Very prompt response in providing the estimate and I didn't have to be present. They sent the estimate to me via email and I got to choose the options I wanted for the service. I emailed the form back and they provided the service within the next few days when weather permitted. Summit contacted me prior to doing the estimate and the actual service to let me know when their representatives would arrive. I didn't have to be present either time which is a big plus. This is the second time I've used their services and I will again for any future work.

They did a great job. Their crew came when they said they would. They completed the work in a timely manner and left the job site clean!

Despite a weather delay, they completed the job on time. The job was professionally performed and they did a thorough clean-up afterward.

I contracted Summit Roofing to change the plywood sheathing and shingles on my roof, as well as the gutters and soffits. They forgot to change all of the plywood as I had contracted. They replaced the shingles, but only changed out a few rotted sheets of plywood. When I looked in my attic, I could see that some of the sheets were starting to delaminate. When the new shingles were nailed in, pieces of wood as large as my finger were flaking off. I think that after 40 years the old plywood needed to be changed out, and I was surprised that the Summit contractors only thought a few sheets were bad enough to be replaced. When I contacted them, they apologized and immediately made plans to re-do the plywood and shingles no questions asked. They installed vented vinyl soffits over the existing solid wood soffits. When I got home that day they had not yet finished, so I could see that they only kept the 3"x12" ventilation holes in the solid wood soffits that were there before. I called the soffit vendor (Certainteed), and was told that I needed a lot more ventilation since the vented vinyl soffit restricted the airflow and I needed around 10 times more vent holes in the wood than with regular vent covers (my Certainteed soffit had about 10 square inches of net free air flow per square foot). After a few discussions with Summit Roofing, it was clear that they didn't understand that the Certainteed soffit applied any additional air flow restriction over the holes cut in the wood soffit, but Summit returned to cut much larger holes anyway. They were professional, and were eager to meet my requests. I had a few minor issues. They cancelled once due to the potential for rain, but I had to e-mail them to find out why they didn't show up. Their people did a pretty good job of cleaning up, though I found enough trash to stuff maybe a quart ziploc bag (I guess that is pretty good for such a large project, except for the few cigarette butts). And last, I called the company twice when everything was finished to air my concerns and they never returned those two calls. Overall, they get high marks for their workmanship being very good. Though I have to give them a poor review because they missed two significant parts of the roof that I had to call them on and get them to redo. If I wasn't as observant I would probably still have rotted plywood and inadequate roof ventilation. I do most of my household handiwork. When I contract something out, I expect to not have to worry about managing any of the work.

They were very timely and explained everything they were doing. Installation was smooth and efficient. Would definitely ask them to do another job on our house.

Summit Roofing did a great job re-shingling my roof and covering the entire surface with an ice and water shield to prevent ice dams. Their price was also several thousand dollars less than other quotes I received.

This was one of the best experiences I've had thus far living in this house. Benny was incredibly easy to work with, everything was done on time and the price was GREAT! We had a delay due to rain, but as soon as there was a dry day, the guys came out and did the roof. You wouldn't even know they were there as my yard was left clean and all roof debris was removed. Materials arrived one day before work was to begin as scheduled. Roofers arrived on time the next day and completed the job within the day. Workers were easy to talk to and completed all requests by owner. The team cleaned area after completion and hauled away some of my old decking wood with the old roofing materials. Summit did a great job. They were on time, on schedule, and the best price. I would unequivocally recommend Summit for any roofing service. Thanks for a job well done. The roof was tested by very strong winds within three days after installation and successfully met the test.

Benny Wolczak, the Summit General Manager, was prompt and professional for our estimate, clearly explained the work required, and immediately figured out that our active leak was caused by improperly installed siding where the upper story of the house met the roof on the first floor. We are also told about an available 10% coupon for the work. He and his staff were very patient in bringing shingle samples to help us pick a roof color. Because of our leak, and impending rain, Summit completed our roofing job over the weekend. The crew was professional, quick, and cleanup was great--our deck looked better when they were finished than it did before they started work. Summit's work on our siding-roof area has resolved our leak. They also replaced a gutter along the front of the house, installed a chimney cap, and painted all of the roof stacks to match the roof--looks much better now! At all points during the process we were apprised of their status. We highly recommend Summit Roofing--we have no negatives to report from our experience.

The employee arrived on time as promised by his office and surveyed what needed to be done. He had to get replacement shingles for the very top of the roof and do that quickly. He was there to do a job and he did it efficiently and quickly. Because of his work I would definitely call Summit roofing contractors in the future if I ever needed them.

Summit Roofing is without question the best value we found. The materials they use and the warranty they provide is on par with all of their competitors. We received quotes from four different companies, all comparing the same materials and similar warranties. Their price was 35% lower than the closest competitor and 300% lower than the top bid. They did not show up with fancy sales tactics. They simply measured the roof, talked to us about options for different roofing materials and gave us a quote via email and snail mail. The crew was here on time. They were respectful, hardworking and went out of their way to meet our needs. The roof looks great and we are very pleased with it. We would recommend Summit Roofing to anyone who needs a roof.

After another roofing contractor failed to show up and no promises to come out and put shingles on before rain was forecast, I decided to call Summit Roofing (who already provided me with an estimate) two days before the rain. Their estimate was a little higher, but they were said they could fit me in. They dropped the shingles off the next morning, but didn't do any work that day. The next day I thought they might show some time in the morning. It was to supposed to start raining that night and continually rain harder through the next day. I called them around 11AM and the rep said they would be here at 1PM. At 1:45, no one has arrived. I call again, and the rep says they're 10 minutes out. They show up 15 minutes later with 3 hours til sundown. Three roofers systematically start pounding and nailing like you wouldn't believe. I think one guy was nailing and the other two were feeding him the shingles. In just 2 hours, the job was done. Not only did they do it quickly on an 8/12 pitch, but they also tied in 2 valleys which is no walk in the park. Fast, and well done Summit!!!

Sam Fullerton, our project manager, responded to my call for a free estimate. He came within 2 days to inspect the roof and provided the written estimate the following day. There was NO hard sell, no requirement for my husband to be present at our meeting, just courteous, fast service, most of it accomplished via email. I had received 2 other estimates (one was a painful 2 hour ordeal with a ridiculous $21,000 price), the other came in $1,000 higher for the same job. When I called to say I wanted to schedule Sam came out within a couple days to show me the shingle samples. The crew came 2 weeks later and completed all work in 2 1/2 days. The crew was courteous and hardworking. All debris was collected in a small dump truck and hauled away. I have found no debris in the yards since they completed. I had one question after the work was completed and Sam responded immediately. Two other neighbors had used Summit prior to me, I watched the crews work and was impressed by the speed of the job and the beautiful finished product. Both neighbors recommended Summit and are very pleased with their roofs as well. This was a great experience and I highly recommend Summit Roofing.

We could not be more thrilled with Summit roofing. Their pricing was very reasonable and their work is excellent. Our house has been completely transformed. The crew worked until 6:30pm each day to finish the job and clean up their supplies. We were kept well informed of the delivery and installation schedules and everything was completed on the date promised. We got many estimates before having this work done and not only was Summit the most reasonably priced, they also sent the most complete proposal package including a large amount of information and reviews on the quality of their company. Can't say enough great things about Summit roofing and we are so glad we found them!

The roofing crew did great work in replacing my townhouse roof. They were courteous and respectful to me and especially careful to not disturb my neighbor?s ?property. The roof was replaced in half a day and Summit?s pricing was considerably less than competitors. I would definitely use Summit for future home repair needs.

I was delighted with this company and highly recommend them. From start to finish, everything went smoothly. Sammy came for the estimate. At our first meeting, I was immediately comfortable with him. There is no push involved, only good information. Within a week I received a detailed estimate with alternate pricing on products we had discussed. The workers are very professional, courteous and diligent. The job took a day and a half as I have the main roof with attached garage, porch and sun room. Before leaving on the first day, everything was cleaned up. When the roof was completed the area was thoroughly cleaned again. Without seeing my new roof and gutters, you would never know that anything had happened here. I am very happy and only wish I could give them more stars.
