I was AMAZED at this company's responsiveness in fixing the storm damage and how accommodating they were on short notice. A nasty storm rolled through overnight and ripped off the ridge vent. I called the number's listed on Angie's List at 10:30 am and the owner got his service technician to our house by 1:00 pm (on a Saturday no less) and the job was done before 2:00 pm. Just in time for the next round of thunderstorms, which are predicted for tonight! Furthermore, the owner and the service technician could not have been nicer and more accommodating! This company has fixed smaller leaks in our roof before, and they have all held up nicely. Another job well done!

Summit provided a free quote without hassle; I didn't even have to meet them to do it. Some companies would not give me a quote without meeting with me at the property. Since the property is a rental, and I live 1 hour away, I didn't want to drive there repeatedly just to get quotes. Summit was almost the lowest bidder, and had just about the best reviews of any company I spoke with. They did a good job, and the final price was the same as the estimate.

It was very easy working with Summit. We received a total of 3 quotes and Summit had the best price. We were very pleased that they were able to do the work within a couple of weeks of receiving their quote. They were immaculate - hard to tell they were even there.

We had a leak and noticed some water damage to our living room ceiling. We went up into the attic and found where the leak was and realized we needed someone to come in to repair it. Time was of the essence, as the ceiling already was showing signs of damage, but had not yet become a hole, and we were expecting severe thunderstorms in the area within a day or two. We called, they came out and told us what work they'd have to do, gave us a very fair estimate, and promised they could come back in two days to complete the work before the rain hit. We were told we wouldn't have to be home for the work, but I was working from home on that day, anyway. They did not come during the day and called my husband just before 5p to say they'd have to come the next day. When my husband protested (we knew the storms were headed our way!), they came that evening, but that was the reason for the "B" in Responsiveness. The work they did was very good - professional and quick and no issues with the leak since. We're very pleased. So why the "B" overall? When they sent us a "Customer Survey" afterwards, they also let us know how we could EARN money off our bill with good reviews. They were going to PAY us ~ return the customer survey with positive review, then write to Angie's List, Washington Consumer's Checkbook, and Best Picks, and "like" and comment on their Facebook page and you earn deductions from your bill! A bonus if you do all five.Seriously, I would have given them GREAT reviews without being paid ~ they do good work! They seem like good people ~ everyone we dealt with was friendly and helpful. AND, as we have ties to the military, we appreciate the fact that quite a few of their employees are military vets. The majority of their employees have been with the company for more than ten (some more than twenty) years and they all have ties to the community, having lived and worked in the area for a while. I just am really bothered by the fact that they would PAY me to write a good review. The whole point of these lists is that they're supposed to be unbiased, objective reports based on the work and not PAYMENT. That is the only reason for the overall "B". The work, itself, is definitely "A" quality and the company and people we dealt with are all deserving of an "A" rating, as well. The offer of payment for reviews left a very bad taste in our mouths. It's a policy I would suggest they discontinue in future. It's not an incentive. It felt like a bribe.

Work went very well. Old, defective siding replaced first. Then old roof completely removed. New roof installed. Old roof was hauled away. Magnetic sweep of yard and driveway was done. It was so thorough that I only found TWO roofing nails in the grass! And NONE in the driveway.

Service and quality were excellent. Professional from start to finish. Love the roof! Would and have recommended them to anyone who needs a new roof!

They arrived early and stayed until they finished. They were very thorough in cleaning up. They had a huge magnet they rolled to pick up any nails from the yard and driveway. They did about half of the townhouses in our complex through word of mouth.

Very good experience. They went above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. Price was very competitive compared to other companies.

I have used Summit Roofing in the past and they did an excellent job. This time I received 3 different estimates from 3 different companies. I choose another company as the price point was better along with including more extensive work on the roofs.

Summit Roofing called me the day after i made the request to have someone take a look at some pieces of my siding that came off. He was very professional and courteous. He gave me an estimate after looking at the issue, and I just went ahead and had him fix it right then and there. When I came home, everything looked good. I will definately call Summit again.

During a rain and wind storm the ridge vent on our home was ripped away. Summit came out as soon as the rain cleared and took care of our issue.

Materials delivered on the roof sat for a week or so, partially due to weather. The job took about three days (big roof), and the dumpster arrived sometime on the second day (would have been better if it had been in place on day one, as a lot a debris was stwern about by the wind). Clean up took a bit of reminding, but was eventually done right. Copper work was significantly delayed, but when they found wood rot under the old copper, Summit payed for the carpentry to make up for the delays. I've witnessed other roofing jobs in my neighborhood, and have heard horror stories about other companies (one reminded me of that Tom Hanks movie "The Money Pit"). So, in comparison to the rest, these guys get an A.

Summit Roofing performed an estimate of the job within two days of my call and even though the estimate was good for thirty days they extended this time until our Home Owner's Association review board approved the color of the new roof. Once the color was approved the roof was installed immediately. Summit Roofing was always available to answer my questions, as this was the first time we replaced the roof. I would recommend Summit Roofing to anyone looking to replace a roof. Summit is prompt and professional.

Because I wanted the work completed ASAP, they added me to their list with an eye toward moving my work-date forward. I received a call one morning asking if they could come in the next 30 minutes because of a cancellation. They arrived and began work. Because they needed to remove the existing shingles, they layed out tarps around the house to mitigate the debris. They completed the majority of the work in two days (Fri and Sat). They returned the next week for ridge vent work and the job was done. They were competitively priced but had a better warranty of ten years. My only complaint is that they left their ladder extended over my front porch exending to the roof by my son's windoww over night.

Roofing/Gutter Job My Initial contact with this company started off good with the owner of the company (Sam senior). I contacted them through their website for an estimate. They contacted me in an hour to set up an appointment to come and view the roof and give me an estimate. I was impressed. Then during the estimate phase I dealt with Sam III and received an estimate about a week later. I was still impressed. They seemed very professional at first. But once I started asking questions and asking for specific things in my estimate/contract things changed. They continuously delayed in getting back to me. I emailed and called on numerous occasions, but could not get service. The secretary knew me by name. I was a very patient and understanding customer throughout the whole process. At one point we had major storms and I knew the company would be swamped, so I gave them another chance. Bad decision. NOTE: My architect was involved in helping me tailor my estimate/contract and asking questions of Summit. I got the feeling they did not care for a professional who knows the business being involved. Finally, after much time passed and one last attempt on my part to get service, I contacted the company again. This time they passed me on to another sales person named Benny. At first he seemed like he really wanted to help me. He came to my house to drop off shingle samples, answered all my questions. Benny was very helpful at first. But it happened again. I asked for my estimate/contract to be finalized with specific items. He said he would be sending me the final copy. IT NEVER HAPPENED! Again, he gave me an excuse he had been very busy and would be getting it to me soon. This company passed me around and never followed through to the end. How unprofessional and unreliable as a small business. You would think they would want a great reputation to survive and get business. They still have never contacted me back. If they did not want to do my job they should have just been honest. They wasted my time and theirs. This is not way to do business. If they can't even follow through with the beginning phase, then that is a red flag on how well of a roofing job they would do. Do not recommend this company.

As good as I could have asked. The crew were on time, started work, and only stopped for 1/2 hour for lunch. Stayed until the job was finished. A very thorough clean up. No debris or trash any where ! (on a very, very hot day).

We had Summit install a new roof on our 30+ year home on the water in the Northern Neck region of Virgina. This was not the usual job as it was a 3 hour drive from their office in Manassas. We chose Summit becasue they have done work for other family members and every time the experience has been a positive one. The materials showed up at the house when we were informed they would. The roofing crew showed up right at 7:00 am on the day we were told they would - THEY MUST HAVE LEFT MANASSAS AT 4:00 am!! The crew worked very hard and only stopped for a quick 20-30 minute lunch. They finished about 1/2 hour before the sun set. They did their clean up and left AND THEN one worker returned the next day to double check the clean up (I assume it was becuase they finished the cleanup after the sun went down) and run the magnet over the ground again. When we recieved the invoice it was accurate with no surprises. We also had them do some 'wrapping' of exterior trim on our house in Manassas - TOP NOTCH! Thank you Sam and your workforce!!!

I contacted Summit Roofing to obtain an estimate. The lady said the estimator would contact me within 2-3 business days. I even sent them an email to confirm everything just in case there was any confusion over the phone. I never got a response to the email and never heard anything more from them. I waited 5 business days then went with another company. Its now been almost 2 weeks and still never heard anything..

The experience with the workers was fantastic. Invoicing was another story. I signed the contract on April 19, 2011 after getting quotes from 3 other companies. I found all of the contractors on Angie's list. Ultimately, it came down to a decision between Peak and Summit. I chose Summit, because some of the other homes in our community had used the company several years back with good experience. I signed the contract with Summit on April 19, 2011 and was very excited to see that Angie's list offered a 10% coupon for the service. That really sweetened the pot for us, so we opted to finance and sent the coupon back attached to the contract. The roof was installed on April 29th. The roofers showed up bright and early at about 7 am and were finished about 1 pm. We were very pleased with how fast they were able to remove and install new roofing. It also looked really good. We received our invoice on May 6 and although it reflected our financing arrangement it did not reflect the 10% off coupon. We assumed that this was probably an error so we contacted the company to check into it further. I spoke with their invoicing person and she asked if I had seen the note on the bottom of the invoice. I looked and there was no notation. When I told her no, she mentioned that they do not honor the 10% off coupon if you elect to finance. I mentioned that no one called to inform us of this prior to the start of the work and she said, sorry, that is just the way it is, take your pick. At a minimum, I would have expected that this would have been communicated when the contract was signed rather than being hit with the surprise in the invoice. Needless to say, this left us a bit surprised and disappointed because had we know this would be the response before hand, we may have chosen a different option.

I am grateful you took such good care of me. First of all you really always followed through promptly on all communications. I quickly realized I could completely count on you. You mentioned the job could be done within two weeks weather permitting and that you might be able to get to it next week. Then your crew showed up 2 working days later and finished my roof, with its steep pitch and 8 or 9 different slopes, in one day! Your crew showed up a few minutes before 7am and quietly waited until 7am to start their work. Four or five guys were up there right away in their safety harnesses working diligently. They were not standing around jabbing; they were working, all the way through. Clearly your crew are very well trained. A supply truck arrived a few minutes after your guys. Within about an hour, all the shingles, vents and supplies were perfectly positioned way up on the ridge where your guys needed them. When the roof was finished, my wife said the clean up went well and that your magnetic roller really did the trick to find small bits of metal. I thought the plate in her head might stick to it, but no luck! Looking at the grounds, you could not tell we just had a roof put on. Just a few more things, the roof looks great and I'm delighted with the better grade shingles. . I will highly recommend Summit Roofing and tell people what an outstanding overall value I received.

Summit Roofing took my name and address, and sent someone there to assess what they could do, and they were very responsive. They called back within two hours, said a man was at the scene and could secure the siding and seal it so that there would be no rain damage. They knew it was just a temporary stop-gap, and was a small job, but they did the work for me and took care of it, giving me a lot of peace of mind for my $325. I know I will have to get it fixed at some point, as the siding was damaged and it shows, but with the storm that came in and any upcoming storms and winds, I feel confident it will last until I have it fixed. I will plan on using Summit Roofing for that job, and would recommend them for any size of job.

I thought their price was extremely reasonable, even though I cannot remember how much it was. I am pleased with them. They have done other roofs in our neighborhood. They showed up on time. They did an excellent job. They cleaned up after themselves. When they got to one part of the roof, they found out that they didn't have the correct nails, the ones they had were too long, so instead of doing it they stopped and went and got new nails. They did a very good job. I would recommend them and use them again. They are reasonable cost wise. I have never heard anything bad about them. I was recommended to them by my neighbor.

I spent $1200 for two skylights. They had originally done my roof about six years ago. So, I decided to use them for the skylights. They were exceptionally responsive. They wasted no time between my giving them a call, their coming out and taking over the job, and replacing the skylights. They installed two skylights in less than an hour. It would have taken me weeks to do the job. I am really impressed with them. I would not have anyone else work on my roof. I will use them again in the future if required.
