The crew showed up on time, worked hard, and left a clean work-site. Shortly after the new roof was installed there has been several days of hard rain, and no leaks.

No one contacted. Nothing happened.

Perfect. They were done in one day. No mess left behind. Even swept the lawn to make sure no nails or trash was left behind.

Summit did an excellent job. Completed the job in only two (2) days which was challenging in light of the size of the house (4,000 sq. ft.) and being a Hip roof. Workmanship was excellent. Roof looks outstanding. Crew cleaned up the job site each day. Upon completion there was no trace of nails or roofing materials found on the ground. Summit provided me with a very good estimate with options of the type of shingles that may be installed including prices. Summit came back to the house so I could see some of the shingle colors in order to make a selection. The final price of the roofing job agreed with the original estimate. No additional costs were included in the final price.

Summit was quick to respond to my request for the roofing repairs. They called me back the day I contacted them, had someone come out and give an estimate the following day, and did the repairs the day after that. They showed up on time and were quick to get the job done.

The individual who repaired the roof name is Carl. He was very professional and courteous, explain to me what the damage was and what he was going to do to repair the damage. He was very punctual and when he repaired the roof, I have not had a leak since. I Highly recommend this member to anyone to repair any type of roof damage. The job he did was second to none.

They came here without my being here; I called them and they came out when I wasn't here and left me a card. I think they emailed me an estimate. They gave two estimates, one with a 25 year warranty for $3350 and another with a 30 year warranty for $3700. There was an additional charge of $50 per piece of plywood (other people charged $55). I didn't meet them but they were very prompt in responding to my phone call; I think I called some providers on a weekend and they were the first ones to respond. It would have been nice if they had come out when I was here so they could have looked at the attic too.

I was pleased with the roof replacement I received from Summit Roofing. Communication from estimate to completion was appropriate with any questions I had answered. The estimate I received was competitive and more importantly, accurate to the final cost. Estimator was quick and answered any questions. When I instructed the shingle color be "Whatever is closest to what we have now.", the estimator came back with samples and figured out the best match. The roofers themselves did a wonderful job on one of the hottest days. During the work, things seemed a little crazy organization wise, but they have a process and I don't hold that against them. The cleanup was what was important to me and after they finished it was like they were never there. I would recommend Summit Roofing for roof replacements.

I contacted four A-rated roofers for estimates on replacing the roof of our cape cod-style house and installing an attic fan. The prices ranged from Summit's low of $7,580 for Certaineed Landmark Pro shingle to more than $13,000. I liked each of the contractors who came out to my house, but after some back and forth to confirm the details of pricing and product specs, I ultimately chose Summit based on their price (which included a 10% discount for Angie's List members). My communications from them were courteous and professional. The only real problem came in the scheduling. We'd agreed on a date when the project was supposed to start, and the roofing product was dropped off two days before, but on the appointed date, no one showed up to work. After waiting several hours (at home, taking time off from work), I called Summit and learned that my ticket had been switched with someone else's. They promised a crew the next day. The crew did indeed show up the next day and spent a full day working on the roof. They knocked off for the day at 5, covering the bare spots with weighted tarps in case of rain. That was a good precaution, because the weather really screwed up the rest of the job. It took a full week to finish, because they advised me that they couldn't work in the rain or on a wet roof, and it rained most of the days in that period. Eventually, though, the job got finished. I suspect they may have miscalculated the amount of roof they needed to cover, because they ran out of shingle on the end of the second day, but if so, they owned that mistake and didn't attempt to bill me for amounts beyond the estimate. Now, several weeks after the project was finished, the roof looks great and seems to be water-tight through several modest storms. I'm hoping and expecting that to continue through any major storms that may yet hit this year. From everything I can see, Summit did a good job at an exceptional price, and I'd highly, highly recommend them.

We were extremely impressed with the job overall, from the communication by lead via phone calls and emails (through all the rain that week) to the professionalism of the crew and their meticulous attention to detail. The estimate was provided efficiently. The contract package, including the options, was clear. The price was very reasonable. The appointment to do the work was made promptly, as indicated in the contract. The workers showed up on time, and finished the work in one day, as promised. The quality of the work was excellent and the roof looks great. It was a real pleasure to do business with them. I would strongly recommend them to anyone needing roof work.

Work was done, looks great and after 1 month, no problems. They were better priced than another good estimate with identical materials. The only advice I would offer this company is hat they could have done a little better on communication but that may have been partially attributable to the unusually wet weather that we had in Virginia this year throwing off their schedule.

We received a couple of different estimates from Summit Roofing. One was for a partial replacement/fix of the damaged area of the roof and the other was for an entire roof replacement. We found that the estimates were very comparable to other companies we researched. Once we decided to go with Summit, we communicated about what type of shingles we would go with what would be the estimated start date. Overall, this communication went well but there were a couple of times we were told we'd be contacted "the following day" or at a specific time and we did not receive a call so we needed to follow up to determine the status. In no way was the communication horrible by any means, we just had to make sure we stayed on top of it. The roofers arrived when expected and finished replacing our roof that same day. The finished result looks fantastic and we are very happy with how the process went.

Our roof needed to be replaced - it was old and stained and just needed an upgrade. Great experience with Summit. They were professional and efficient and answered our questions completely. The job was completed in the time frame promised and the workers were clearly skilled at their craft and professional. They worked efficiently and put in long hours in the heat to get the job done right. We love the venting which will in the long run save on our heating and a/c costs. The roof looks fantastic and we love the pattern! It was thoroughly tested the day after completion with strong storms and it held up without incident. Courteous workers and great experience.

After big rain, water leaking behind wall at chimney on both 1st and 2nd floors. Thought it was flashing or caulking. I went to Angie's List and called the top 10 roofers in northern Virginia with all-A scores, Special Service Awardees, and at least 50 recent reviews. Many were busy and would take a week to come out to give estimate and then another week or more to do work. Summit had Louis Somerville at my townhouse in less than 4 hours. He climbed a 40 ft. ladder to the roof, found problem - debris at edges of a too-short 'cricket'. He hand cleaned the debris which was causing water to dam up under the shingles causing the inside leak. He recommended replacing the 'cricket' with a new longer one or regularly cleaning the debris. An estimate is coming. No charge for cleaning the debris and complete honesty saying the cleaning should solve the problem at least for the near term. FASTEST - FIRST AND ONLY FIRM TO PROVIDE SAME DAY SERVICE. HONEST - MADE A QUICK REPAIR - NO HARD SELL. Summit Roofing will be my first call when I make the repair suggested.

This local roofer first replaced my roof in 1992. This spring, I needed a new roof, so I selected three area roofers from Angie's list and asked for proposals (including Summit Roofing). All were immediately responsive and Summit gave the lowest quote, so based on satisfaction in 1992 and a fair price today, I chose Summit. I was very pleased with the results...the quality of the workmanship and the cleanup were superb. Summit has earned my strong endorsement for a second time!

From first contact to completing the service Summit Roofing was easy and friendly to work with. Carl came out to do the initial estimate and we scheduled a time for him to come back to complete the work. Carl was very friendly, knowledgeable, and a great worker. I would highly recommend, and will come back to them for any of my roofing needs.

Among about four contractors contacted for quotes, only Summit could respond quickly despite a hefty workload--as all roofers seemed to have following several major storms and resultant damage throughout the Metro Washington Area. Summit sent out a businesslike yet personable estimator within a few days and followed up with equally get-to-work "installers" within a week. They understood that timing was critical since these were obligatory repairs from a buyer's home inspection, the fulfillment of which could make or break our home sale closing that was scheduled for a couple of days after the roofing work. The work was done quickly and unobtrusively. The disturbed areas on the roof and the plant beds where they placed their ladders were cleaned up nicely so that we found no debris after they left; one could hardly tell--except for new shingles and spiffy gutters/downspouts--that work had been done. While we limited their estimate and work to the items on the inspection report, they identified a couple of other maintenance items that one would want to deal with eventually to protect the roof. I appreciated their effort to be comprehensive and took it as a constructive tutorial--something we'll certainly attend to in our next home. It highlighted for us that a maintenance program on the roof--like a maintenance contract and inspections on appliances and HVAC systems--could be a critical preventive over the long term for avoiding major damage and repairs.
