It was a great experience. There were no issues what so ever that I had to address during the job. They asked me often if there was anything I was concerned with and I had nothing to say which is very unusual. The workers were respectful to me and my property. They were also respectful to my neighbor's property. They worked hard and made sure they replaced any rotting wood before installing roof. After the installation, they made sure to clean up and put everything back in their proper place. I would highly recommend Summit Roofing. Even my mailman said that he was happy to see that I chose Summit Roofing because they are a very excellent company.

Summit was professional in getting estimates and all the details about roof shingles. There was no sales pressure. They worked with me in selection of shingles. They also have one of the best labor warranty. The crew came on time and completed roof with no fuss. Due to rain they had to postpone work for until week end which they did complete. Overall good experience.

I was very satisfied with the service. They were customer-focused, upfront about their pricing, and weren't pushy at all. They were not able provide me with a warranty (maybe due to the nature of the service itself) but the repair that they did has stopped the leak.

They were responsive in getting us an estimate right after we requested one. Schedueling was another thing. Joe does NOT answer his phone or return calls. We learned that he does email promptly, however. It took a few weeks for the work to get going, but the crew showed up early on a Monday and completed the work VERY quickly. I believe they were gone by 4pm. They cleaned up after, not a single shingle left in the yard. The gutter crew came the next day. They did not clean up afterward, but it was minor junk (ie. A few old gutter nails on my deck and some of the nasty leaves from the deck.) but I did not really care. Cost breakdown: 2500 for the roof, 100 for 2 sheets of plywood, 1000 for all new 6in gutters and downspouts. Not too bad. No leaks thus far. I DO see a little bit of space between the gutters and the roof in the front of the house, but I have not had issues thus far and both services have a nice long warranty. I highly recommend mostly based on price and friendliness. Very 'to the point' with estimates and they were BY FAR the cheapest I could find without sacrificing quality. The other 3 estimates I received were around $8k for TOWNHOUSE. It went against my grain to pay more for a small townhouse roof than my parents paid for their full, large, single family house roof.

Summit Roofing arrived on time and finished working the same afternoon. The crew worked diligently and cleaned up well afterwards. When the original shingle color we picked was not available, Summit allowed us to choose an upgraded shingle in another color for the same pricing. The new color we choose looks good and we were happy to get the upgrade without additional cost. All communication with Summit was good as well. They were easy to deal with and responsive.

They came out and gave us a fair price and did the work the next day

Before hiring Summit to do our roof, we received several quotes from a wide range of contractors. The quotes we received ranged from outrageously priced ($19,000!) to marginally priced, but contingent on signing the contract that very day. When I finally landed on Summit, not only was their pricing spectacular, but they stood by their quote with a 30 day price guarantee so that my wife and I could discuss our options. We got a great deal on both a high quality shingle and labor. We found a coupon in the Yellow Pages after we had already signed the contract and agreed upon the price, and they allowed us to use the coupon to save an additional $500. The install was fast and unobtrusive, the quality of the install was professional, and the roofers did a pretty good job of cleaning up - I've only found 2 nails that managed to escape the tarps they put down while working. Overall it was a very good experience and there were no high pressure salesmen telling us "this deal walks out the door with me" as one from another company had tried. I would use Summit again without hesitation.

Karl from Summit Roofing came out to our house as scheduled. He provided estimate and when we made the decision, he came out as scheduled and made the necessary repairs. We received an Angie's List discount and the cost was very reasonable.

It went well. I got three estimates from all top rated roofers and Summit was the most responsive and most cost effective. Sammy Jr was the estimator and he was courteous and very knowledgeable. Maybe they were busy but getting the estimate took longer than expected. The crew did a great job from what I can tell from the ground. Replaced all the shingles and several plywood. Only complaints I would have was during clean up. I found several nails around the house after they ran the magnetic sweeper so I asked them to the run sweeper again more thoroughly. (We have kids). I wished Sammy was around during the work to kinda oversee things, but they just send the crew. No worries they stand by their work for 10 years. Enjoying our new roof...thanks Summit.

After occupying my new town house for about eight years in 1989 I began noticing shingles on the ground in my back yard. I had no idea where they came from until my neighbor who lives across the street told me he had observed some shingles from my roof flying through the air on a very windy day a few days earlier. While we were talking a Summit Roofing truck drove down the street and I waved the driver down and asked him to take a look and see if he could replace the shingles. He replaced the shingles on the spot and gave me his card. I had no more problems with the roof until October of 2012 when it sprang a leak. I searched for Summit's business card for card approximately two weeks ((I had forgotten the name of the company) before getting another contractor who made the repair and advised that I needed to replace the roof. I finally found the business card and obtained 3 other estimates before choosing Summit. I am so glad I chose Summit. They provided the most detailed proposal and the best price. There were no hidden charges. They provided written guarantees of work, copies of their business licenses, references and numerous samples of materials to choose from with prices for each. When I had questions my calls were returned promptly. A representative provided a follow up visit to bring a sample shingle that met the specifications of my Home Owners Association before starting the job. The technicians were courteous, professional and efficient. Due to the extreme weather conditions: snow, wind , rain and the Christmas holiday, it was necessary to reschedule the work a few times. I received a telephone each time to confirm the new date and to be sure I was not inconvenienced by the changes. Clean up was excellent. I was left with nothing to do except enjoy my new roof. My brother in law helped me find Summit Roofing because I desperately needed to replace the roof in my townhouse. We hired them and they came out in one day to do the work. They were very responsible to our many phone calls with questions about details. They're workers were courteous and professional. I would definitely use them again!

We received a reasonably priced bid from Summit Roofing Contracting, highly recommended on Angie's List. The roof of a rental townhouse we own was in dire need of repair. It was aging, a number of shingles had been patched due to storms over the last year or two -- and, finally, a squirrel had decided to nibble a hole in the roof. In addition, it was time for the original gutters and downspouts to be replaced. Not living at the property, we dealt by email and phone with the company. Sam Fullerton III communicated well about the job, provided information about roofing choices, answered questions promptly, and kept us apprised of the when the job would be completed. The project was done efficiently and neatly, completed exactly as per contract, done with little disturbance to the current tenant -- and gives the townhouse a bright new look. We would definitely call upon Sam and Summit Roofing again.

July 2013, before joining Angie's List, I called Summit Roofing and several others to look at a leaking roof and to give me a price quote for completely replacing the 25-year-old original roof sometime in the fall of 2013. Benny at Summit was the only one to respond and provide both the repair estimate and total replacement price to my daughter who lives at the house. We decided to hold off on the repair and to just replace the entire roof in the fall when I returned from an extended absence. When I returned to the area in late October, I joined Angie's List and started researching roofers. I was pleasantly surprised to see the "A" rating for Summit and the many recent positive reviews. I also printed out the special 10% off coupon on their Angie's List listing. I called Benny who confirmed the price he had quoted in July was still good in November. I then asked him if he would also accept the 10% off coupon from AL. He would. I told him I would sign the contract and return to him in a day or two. At the last moment, I called my homeowners' association management company and asked if I needed to let them know I was replacing my roof. To my surprise, they told me I would have to submit a request for approval by the association's architectural review board. They would mainly be interested in seeing that the style of shingles was three-tab and the color was very close to the original roof's. The manager told me I would need to make the neighbors on each side aware of the request and obtain their signatures on the form. I should also submit a sample board of the shingle colors along with the form. He also said that I should, if possible, bring an actual shingle to the board meeting in case there were any questions. I called Benny and requested that he bring another sample board for the proposed shingles as well as actual shingles for the two or three colors that were close. The next morning, the requested board and shingles were on the front porch of my house--outstanding service! I put together my request package with the sample board and hand-delivered to the property management company the next day. The ARB's next meeting was to be early December and Benny agreed to hold the price until official approval. The ARB approved the roof in my first color choice on December 3. I signed and hand-delivered the contract, coupon and samples to Carol at Summit's office in Manassas. The roof was completed in mid-December in my absence and we have seen no leaks during the recent heavy rain and snow. Also, there was no need to replace any of the underlying plywood. The only glitch I had was with the billing, which was quickly resolved with a phone call to Carol. The 10% coupon was not deducted on the invoice and the invoice was mailed to my Virginia home instead of my California home. I very much appreciated Summit working with me over half a year, providing the material needed to obtain association approval and quickly correcting the invoice. I would definitely use them again for any roofing needs.

This company submitted a comprehensive professional bid and reviewed all the details. We chose this company based on price and and ability to meet homeowner requirements - specific shingles and timeline in accordance with HOA guidelines. Price was competitive with other bids submitted. Contractor installed roofing as promised - on time and on budget.

The new roof looks great. The work was done quickly and professionally and the site was cleaned up afterwards. They also cleaned out the gutters, which were full of the old roofs granules. The price seemed very good compared to other quotes I received so overall I think it was a good deal.

The estimator came and give us a estimation and explant that how it will go. He seems professional and honest. We will considerate it.

Excellent service! Summit Roofing exceeded all of my expectations. This company exemplifies outstanding customer service. I am self-employed and I have to deliver good customer service every day. I recognize a well run company when I see one. These guys get it right by the quality of their work.... and THEY CARE! In my experience that is a rarity in this area. I was also pleasantly surprised to learn that their prices were better than all the other roofers I looked at. I've lived in this area for 27 years and I can count on one hand the number businesses that have exceeded my expectations. This is one of them.

I was thoroughly impressed with Summit Roofing from the time of quote to completion of the job. Summit Roofing beat all of competition's quotes. They ended up being one third of the cost of another "nationwide" roofing company that sends its salesmen door-to-door. The salesman (Joe Ortiz) was patient at providing adjustment quotes as I made some changes to the scope of work being done. Once I signed the quote, Summit had the materials delivered and began roofing within a week. Summit's workers were very competent (I didn't feel the need to continuously look over and correct their work). Multiple crew members spoke English. The crew cleaned up all old roofing materials and left site clean. Job was completed in 2 days and looks awesome.

For a company listed as an Angies List Super Service provider, my experience runs to the contrary. Phone calls not returned, impossible to leave a voicemail because the mailbox is full (should tell you something), and it took 12 days after an on-site visit before they concluded they could not do the job -- but only after being prodded by my email, which does seem to generate some action their part. Bottom Line: A total waste of my time and of course a further delay in getting the job done. If you're in a hurry and/or expected calls returned, suggest trying elsewhere.

They were terrific and fast. I've asked them to come out when I'm concern about something and they're very prompt. They looked where I was concerned and took care of it. They're very good and they come out whenever I asked them to come out and showed up on time. They were so fast when they put the roof on and so thorough. They didn't charge me anything because the roof was under warranty. I was happy with them.
