I wish there was an option for less than 1 star. The customer service for Mcgrath is atrocious. We have had several issues with them, but most recently they completely botched a furnace replacement. First off, they hired a company that misdiagnosed the issue leaving the tenants in the cold for a week - then they only gave us 1 quote for complete replacement of the furnace - so I had to step in and do ALL of the work finding a contractor with a reasonable price. The tenants, rightfully so, asked for compensation, and when we asked McGrath to pay they sent us a defensive 2 page e-mail stating how they did everything appropriately. I since put a 30 day separation notice from McGrath which ends 15May. Today, I spoke to a senior McGrath representative and we were literally arguing with each other over the phone. This representative set up the call with me - and within a few minutes, I realized that he called me to double down on how McGrath did nothing wrong during the botched furnace replacement. To win the conversation with me (his client), we were angrily pushed out of the contract earlier than anticipated because I believe McGrath wanted to win the argument. Then, in my opinion, I was sarcastically offered references by the senior McGrath representative. Later on, we were e-mailed by him giving us more time to move on - but our decision was made to move on immediately after how we were treated. This culture is riddled throughout McGrath - except for one lady named Lindsey who almost had me rethinking me decision to leave a few weeks ago when I put the separation agreement in place. Simply put - Stay away from McGrath.

Very well!We feel very lucky to have McGrath taking taking care of our home. Every person who has helped us along the way at McGrath has been so professional, helpful, and experienced: Brian Chevalier led us through the listing process and answered all of our questions, Jessica Stinette marketed the home beautifully, Lindsay Curtis held our hand through the lease process. David Kipper has been so patient with our renters is always responsive. Zack Brown has taken such good care of the property and us. A special thanks to Brian Chevallier who truly sold us on McGrath. I truly believe the Internet is where these deals get made and McGrath's beautiful professional photographs made our listing look fantastic. Some companies we contacted were just going to send an employee with a telephone camera to do the job.

I have worked with McGrath and I cannot say enough about their commitment to quality customer service! They treat their vendors with respect and are always concise in their communications. Their commitment to customer service is obvious and clearly apparent by the confidence of their clients. I have wonderful working relationship with them and would highly recommend them to anyone who is need of a trusted advocate to maintain their property on their behalf!!

We were very pleased with McGrath's exceptional service in managing our property. They were cordial, responsive, and ensured our home was in immaculate condition when returning to it. They thoroughly explained the process, and informed us all matters,  including repairs, in a timely manner. Beside handling all matters regarding our rental property, they went beyond their duties by providing helpful information on potential projects including refinancing options. They identified quality tenants and kept us aware of each step in this process. Jessica Stinette was in frequent contact and always put our mind at ease. She was polite, professional and trust-worthy, always providing top-notch recommendations and assistance on an array of matters, and even followed up when we stopped services. We would definitely use McGrath in the future and highly recommend them.

Our experience was great. David Buckingham was our realtor. He was knowledgeable, responsive and took the time to walk us through the home buying process (our first). David continues to support us with providing advice around maintaining our home including referrals to reputable service providers for maintenance.

All went well with a property management situation. They are always accessible, friendly and knowledgeable. They seem to have the process down and have the resources and the know how to get it done.

We were very impressed with the quality of the sub-contractors and their knowledge. They have a great team at McGrath Real Estate and are very responsive and polite.

* Tenant (long-term tenant from 2009-2013) had some complaints about responsiveness.

This is not my first go around with this firm. They are reasonably priced and seem to use common sense whenever they need to make a decision. Special instructions were given to them and they seem to go out of their way to make sure things are done properly.

In the year that I rented the property under their management, they were slow to respond on major issues and fumbled every correspondence by shifting responsibilities from one agent to another. Every time I called, it was someone else who I needed to speak to who just so happened to be out of the office. A major leak which caused a ceiling to droop was not fixed until we were ready to move out and the house was being put back on the market. It took 3 months to fix a water heater which was making my electrical bill astronomical, and when it came time for the final inspection, they tried to charge me to take out the trash that the cleaning company they referred me to failed to do so. Zero professionalism when it came time to return my deposit which they held onto for the maximum amount of time, one month after new tenants moved in. An absolute disappointment.

It was a positive experience. It went great and everything was good. They are very customer service oriented and they treat each customer like friends. Their price was fair.

The service was fine and it was very convenient. The process went a lot smoother than our previous provider. They have been doing the management business for a long time and they work with a lot of contractors. They take a percentage of the rent for their commission. I did have a problem with one of the renters. I wish they had a better screening process for their tenants. There were times when it was hard to reach them. Sometimes I would call and they would have me contact multiple people before I spoke with the person I needed. All the paper work was filed properly and the tax documents were received on time. Overall, we were pleased with the service.

Their service turned out very well. They have excellent customer service to people who are local and even those moving there from over seas. They were very attentive to detail. They really listened to our needs and what we wanted in our home. The price was reasonable, they were timely, and professional. They did an excellent job!

They do exactly what they are supposed to and we enjoy their service. The price is satisfactory and we are pleased with them.

McGrath is great. You pay a little more, but definitely get better service. They provide detailed invoices, reports, and have wonderful processes for letting us know about repair costs, inspections, etc.

My experience with them did not go really well and I was not satisfied with them. They were the property management company for the town house that I had rented and their service was pretty much less than stellar. I had to call them around three to four times for repairs and they really did not fix anything until it was time to put the house on the market again for rental. They were a bit of a disappointment since they claimed everything looked good. Their office is nice and well kept and the people were also nice but it came down to the fact that they do not have a phone line for either emergencies or repairs. They expect me to email them and they are kind of slow on the emails which is mostly generic emails. It was a battle for me to get them to do anything. Their pricing was reasonable since the house was not overvalued in terms of rent. They were somewhat punctual since they showed up when they had to. I strongly suggested to my friends not to use them and they kind of figured out why.

They are a well-established real estate agency and they have an established infra structure. They are very competent and good with their clients. We use them on a regular basis now that we are managing a property. The price is based on your status with the state department and they charge 8% for the management fee plus 9% of the rent for the new tenants.

We renewed for another year. The pricing was fair and based on my history wither it went as smoothly as possible.

Overall our experience with McGrath was very bad.
We own a condo and had them managing the property for 2 years. Over the course of those two years, there were multiple "tenant" complaints and fixes per month, often for things that we really shouldn't have been bothered with.
For example, if the tenant tears up the NEW blinds and complains to McGrath about how they are broken and need to be replaced, why is McGrath charging us for the repairs and equipment? Its clearly stated in the lease that the tenant is responsible for damaged items including window coverings.
McGrath also seems to have agreements with certain contractors and have no problem ripping you off in the process.
We evenutally fired McGrath and you know what? The "tenant" complaints and repairs went from 4-5 a month to less than 1 per month.
I cannot recommend McGrath in good conscience and I'm blown away that they have an "A" rating on Angie's List. That changes my whole perspective on that "A" rating and what its really worth....

Experienced company has the process down

I just wanted not to be bothered and they found a qualified tenant and got them in and got them out without any fuss on my end. I am back in the apartment and it looks 1 year older but hey what do you expect? I would not hesitate to use them again and would and have recommended them since. I dealt with Dave a lot and he was always courteous and responsive.

I just said yes and they did everything from there. If you have any special requests they will do them if not just get out of the way and let them do their job. Which they do well by the way.
