They worked with a company to come out and install it over our fireplace for us. We had a great experience with them. It was the only place in town we could go where they actually knew about the TV's. They were very informative.
Description of Work: We bought a big screen TV from them.

Overall my experience with the Big Screen Store was good with the price that I got and the quality of the products they sell. I purchased a new entertainment center and a television to go along with it. The salesman worked with me to get these items within my budget. There tv's prices are pretty good for the local shopper although you might be able to find better deals online. But that seems to be the case everywhere. My only issue was that I had a custom order which took a little longer than normal to come in. I didn't feel that I was getting adequate responses on the delay and at times felt ignored. But in the end they delivered and the install team did a good job....

To complement the facts summarized above, my interaction with the staff of the Big Screen Store was very disappointing. The Salesman (Mickey) talked a good talk but was short on delivery. My assessment is that he would promise more than his manager's policy permitted. The Store Manger (Jason) was direct (almost curt) when I complained about the late and incomplete delivery and the speaker problem. He told me that it could be a problem with the cable company's signal or widows adjacent to the TV but it was likely not his TV (which in fact, was the problem!). He told me that he'd be happy to take it back if I wasn't happy (which to me seemed silly since we both has a lot invested in this and it was probably repairable. He agreed to send a technician out at his expense to assess and correct the speaker problem. I specifically asked him how he was going to address the fact that I had given them full price on time and they had not yet given me full value. Instead of offering some effort to compensate or address the shortfalls, he just asked me what I expected/wanted him to do. I ended the conversation. This man has zero customer relations skills and is obviously insensitive to the basic principle that the customer is always right - especially when the vendor has fouled up the situation as badly as they had fouled it up. The salesman followed up with me a couple weeks after the repair and promised to visit again to make some fine adjustments on the sound because I was experiencing a problem with volume level control between cable TV shows and Blue Ray DVDs. For some reason the DVD player volume has to be very much higher than TV volume to "hear" the presentation at the same level. As of this writing, now almost another month later, he has not visited or called to explain why. Another indication of the Big Screen Stores' sense of customer service.
Description of Work: After much research we decided to invest in a high quality plasma, 3D television. We wanted a Panasonic Viera 58". We shopped online and at Best Buy before going to the Big Screen Store in Faifax. We purchased there because they beat the Best Buy price by upgrading the Blue Ray player and discounting the Monster Power Conditioner. A delivey date was selected one week later on a Saturday. The delivery crew arrived 45 minutes later than appointed (in the middle of dinner) and completed the installation. They were clearly rushed and gave me a very quick orientation to the completed set up. Of note, the ordered Power Conditioner was not in the delivery. They told me it was on back order and additionally, they could not figure out why the 3D feature would not work. I called the salesman on Monday to complain about the late, incomplete delivery and inop 3D feature. He said it would take another week or so before the Power Conditioner came in and that once it was in he would come to my house to install it and fix the setup. So about 3 weeks after original delivery he showed up and completed the installation/set up/configuration. Bottom line, I paid full price on time and they took about an additional month to give me full value for my money. During this period I had multiple conversations with the salesman who I think tried to do all he could but, it didn't change delivery/completion. I also spoke with his store manager (Jason) twice. Both conversations were less than satisfying. See my summary below for details. Additionally, about a week after delivery we noted a metal on metal rattling sound during certain frequencies of TV audio. I called again to complain and they sent a Panasonic technician from Video Tech Center in Baltimore. That individual diagnosed the problem (loose speakers) and installed one new speaker and corrected the problem. Suffice to say, I was sorely disappointed with this deficiency in a brand new $3K Panasonic TV.

I had a pretty bad experience. Took some of my own valuable time and went out of my way to visit their showroom. Spoke to a sale person who at first seemed pretty nice and I was looking forward to giving them, what I feel is a sizable sale...at least $15-$20K. I was honest and told the sales guy up front about how I wanted one person and one company to take care of everything for me as I moved into a new home, and needed a whole new house full of televiusions and audio equipment...I told him how valubale my time is and what I needed and expected. I was hoping to minimize my time by having these guys help me. After going over a few television options the guy basically told me to double check what size tv's I needed in different spots and then get back to him. I sen thim an email a few days later as promised and he got back to me in a couple days...should have been my first warning....I know if I was a salesperosn in this market I wouldn;t have waited so long to respond to an email. His email still didn't want to get into price. I think this place uses a gimmicky sales close and he didn't think he shold disclose anything until he had me captive in his showroom again. He was always hesitant to talk about price which is pretty bush league if you ask me..after all I had made it clear I knew that what I wanted was going to cost a lot. Anyways...I have now spent $22K at their competitor and got a "go to" saleperson who is takng care of everything for me and making sure I am satisfied as everything progresses. I'd never go back to htis place even though it was recommended by a friend who used them...even he is mortified and how my experience went. Terrible customer service. I was begging for them to take my business and they couldn't handle it.
