Wooden Sun helped us select the right stoves for our house and fireplace. They made suggestions for dealing with our custom fireplace. They identified potential issues ahead of time as well as ideas for mitigation. They always arrived on time and were very professional. We had no problems and everything works extremely well.

We moved into a 30-year-old house with two fireplaces; the seller told us they hadn't been used recently and we should have them inspected. Wooden Sun quoted us $149 to inspect and clean the first fireplace/chimney and $89 for the second, with additional charges if any repairs were needed. The owner, Jonathan, arrived promptly, looked at the chimneys, and told us one of them just needed cleaning and the second one didn't even need that. He performed the work quickly and cleanly. He discussed with my husband the options for replacing the fireboxes in the future. It was a pleasant surprise to be charged only $149. We will certainly call Wooden Sun next year.

They first cleaned and inspected the fireplaces and the chimney. They were very clean and also placed the gas fireplaces inside the areas. Once the gas company had completed running their lines they then came and connected, installed a chimeny cap and did have to convert the stoves from natural gas to propane. They then finalized the stoves and installed a mantel. Though it took a while from start to finish, we know they had time to review all details and we were not in a hurry for these to be completed. I am sure they could have had them done more quickly if we requested.

Called several weeks prior to appointment, call never returned. Called back a few days later and then appointment was setup for chimney sweep and measure for installation of new chimney cap. Owner arrived on time and was very friendly and thorough, but seemed surprised when I asked about the chimney cap. He went back outside, measured, wrote a note on the work report regarding the chimney dimensions, and said they would send an invoice and a quote for the new cap. Invoice received within 2 weeks, but have not heard from them since. Update-They called me back and apologized for the oversight on the chimney cap. New cap was installed with no labor charges.

The unique install requirements resulted in a longer installation period but the price remained the same as quoted even though they spent almost twice as many hours as they had planned on. They have been in the industry for a long time and have ton's of knowledge and know how, but the store front is new. I believe they were doing installs out of a van for other retailers in the area before branching out on their own with a retail store. The quality of product's they offer is superior to the other more established local retailer and from what I could tell the knowledge is second to none. I had an issue a couple months out with the door seal and they were more than happy to come right out and fix it free of charge. While you could save a couple hundred bucks up front buying from some outline outlet store, you will be hard pressed to find this kind of quality in installation work and service level. Actually I'm not even sure if you can find all of their high end Canadian products on line even if you wanted to. I've recommended them to at least 2 others for their stove needs and they have also been pleased thus far.

I dealt with this company over the phone AND in person at their store. The first person to come out to my house was prompt and very courteous, but he could not complete the work required because of some issue with an installation flaw (not done by this company). He told me someone with more experience needed to come out and look at my chimney and wood stove. Another person came out to look at the entire system, along with the sub-floor. I agreed to buy a chimney cap, and to get a more thorough chimney cleaning after the installation flaw was repaired. I am currently waiting on this repair and chimney cap installation, but they are over 40 minutes late. I made this appointment at their store, in-person, yet they called me yesterday morning, asking what time they should arrive! When I returned their call, clarifying that the appointment was, in fact, for today at 3, the person answering the phone was brusque and seemed offended. Now, they are late, with no phone call. While I believe this company to be one with a great deal of knowledge, and quality merchandise, their organization is abysmal. The people involved with appointments, both making them and keeping them, don't seem to have a meeting of the minds. It's still a toss-up if I will keep on with this company.
