That was fine. That was a good experience. That was alright. The service cost more than the Big Deal. I paid $100 more. It was really what it was. The price was fair. He was there when he said he would be. I would probably use them again in the future.

I purchased the Angie's List "deal" - paid $99.00 for $200.00 worth of electrical services. Once I contacted Murphy's I was advised that they charge a fee of $169, plus $35.00 parts fee and then $29.00 per 1/4 hour thereafter. Had that information been transparent on Angie's List, I would NOT have purchased the "deal". The Murphy's receptionist claimed that they have contacted Angie's regarding said issue and that Angie's has just not updated the fine print. The Murphy's receptionist advised that the electricians work quickly, so I went ahead and schedule an appointment since I had already paid the $99.00. Their employee, Vic, came to my home within the estimated time frame given, and installed a light fixture outside. He was also going to install a light fixture inside, but the light fixture was not appropriate for the location where I wanted it installed. I immediately noticed that, so he did not do any other work or spend any other time with that particular project. Vic told me to that it would not be problem for him to return once I purchased the correct light. Vic said that he would return to install the light free of charge, as it was part of the job he did not finish that day. Vic, an employee of Murphy's, made a verbal agreement to return to install the light FREE OF CHARGE. When I contacted Murphy's to make an appointment so that they could finish the project, the receptionist immediately said "that doesn't sound right" after I told her about Vic's verbal agreement. The receptionist told me that she would have the owner contact me so that we could discuss the matter. The owner never contacted me, but the receptionist called me back to say that they would finish the job but I would have to pay $35.00 per 1/4 hour. She also said that the Vic, (who as an employee is a representative of the company, in my opinion) did not have the authorization to make the above agreement. Furthermore, she said Vic is no longer with the company because he was over promising and undercharging customers. Therefore, they were aware of his work ethic, and my representation of the verbal agreement Vic made should not have been something that "did not sound, right" as she initially alleged. Anyway, I agreed to have another electrician come to my house to install the light fixture. The receptionist was able to get someone to my home the same day - which I did appreciate. However, the electrician did not have a ladder high enough to reach the light so he had to return the following day. It was inconvenient because I had to move a king sized bed and other furniture. The next day, the light was installed. The electrician, James, was nice enough. I must note that he did not have a company work shirt, nor did he wear shoe covers. I had to ask him to remove his shoes, and he kindly did. Also, I was a little irritated that when he was parking his work van in my driveway he hit my tree twice. At the end, I had to pay an additional $70.00 even though Vic made a verbal agreement to finish the job without further cost to me. Had the company simply completed the job free of charge, as verbally promised by Vic, I may have contracted them to do more work. I cannot recommend this company due to the above reasons. UPDATE: A Murphy's representative contacted me after I submitted my review on Angie's List to offer a refund of the extra $70.00 I paid. I am happy that they contacted me and provided me with a refund. I appreciate that they do care about customer relations. Thank you!

While he was nice, he installed this without checking the switch. Also, I have under the counter lights and he fiddled with these for about 45 minutes and indicated at the end that I needed a new box. He also spent about 20 minutes looking at my doorbell. It really wasn’t a Deal and the work was inefficiently done.

It went okay. The guy came out twice and did a good job. He worked and didn't complete it so he came back. He fixed the problem but redid the work.

great job--purchased an angie's list deal and ended up having the electrician do more work than originally intended because a fixture blew out. he was also there the same time as the plumber, so they were able to discuss a gas line issue and determine it was a non-issue. was very pleased!

I signed up via Angie's List and after receiving an email I call the service provider, Murphy's three times. I never received a call back and have since given up. Since this was an Angie's List deal, I ask for a complete refund of my payment. Further, Angie's List should not be allowing companies such as this to be on the site as a competent, respectful service provider.

They arrived on time, were professional and knowledgeable, and their service was affordable. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs electrical work on your house.

The technician was really great and the work was good. The technician worked longer than anticipated and the final price was higher than I thought it would be. The deal description was slightly misleading. Overall I was happy with the work that was done but was upset about the pricing.

Murphy's did excellent, quick work which, I hope, will last because the electrician expertly hard-wired the connections of the lights to the underground low-voltage line. Should be better than the previous installation (by a different company) which failed after a few months. I would definitely use Murphy Family Electric again.

They were OK. The only thing that I did not like. He doesn't like it when people do it themselves. He came with an attitude about I shouldn't do this myself. I didn't like his attitude that I had tried to do something myself. He didn't listen to me and it took him a little longer to trouble shoot because, he didn't want to listen to me. I had to pay additional money. I had to tell him if he didn't find the problem I didn't care he would have to stop and I would have to deal with it later. He went to the wrong house. I had to reschedule.

We had purchased a voucher (discounted price). They were responsive and set up a time within a week and were able to install the electrical outlet on time.

They were very personable and professional. They came right in and did what needs to be done. They did not make a big mess. They were excellent. They were really nice. I will definitely call them back.

Somewhat disappointed he could not do a internal doorbell. otherwise, the service was fairly good.

I was not there when they did the work. My neighbor let them in to do the work and they let me know he was professional. He was helpful and polite and was there on time. He ended up just flipping the breaker which fixed the issue but the Big Deal covered the visit.

They were timely, affordable and they got the job done right the first time. We had to re-schedule. They got tied up one time and couldn't make it out. It worked out fine.

Jeremy explained what he would do so I would have light. He worked in a professional manner. We discussed what I would need to get to replace the old ballasts, and some other electrical things I need to have done in the future. I was pleased with his knowledge and recommendations.

We were very pleased with them. It was very pleasant and professional. I didn't have any trouble. The technicians who came out were very pleasant and easy to work with and did their work quickly and efficiently.

We had a can light in the ceiling that hadn't been connected to the electric. They came in and hooked it up and made sure it worked properly. They did a good job!
