Electrician arrived on time. Did excellent work and was very quick.

They were really good. I would use this company and do recommend them.

It was a big deal purchase and it turned out really well. They were terrific. They were efficient and polite. They really did a good job. I think the price was wonderful but that was because of Angie's List.

For years we've had a problem with the recessed halogen lighting in our kitchen. The electrical transformer used to drop the current down from 120V to 12V was constantly blowing fuses, which were costly to replace. Instead of installing a new transformer, we decided to remove the transformer and replace the existing light fixtures with 120V LED lights. Dan, the electrician from Murphy Family Electric, showed up precisely when he said he would be there and wasted no time getting to work. He disconnected the broken transformer and direct wired the current to the ceiling lights. He then replaced all of the old halogen lamps with brand new LED fixtures in less then 2 hours. He was confident the job wouldn't cost more than $300, and he was right, coming in well under budget at $239.

Really glad we called this company. They sent Ryan out and he did a great job. He worked very efficiently. He installed three light fixtures and a ceiling fan in less than three hours. Will definitely use them again.

It wen't very well. The work was challenging in a number of ways. The technician needed to run some electrical wires above a pool table and the basement was finished. He did this work with a minium amount of drywall cutting. The second job involved my media room that had no power in any outlet. He traced the problem to a single outlet that had failed. He replaced and resolved the problem quickly. Technician was very diligent and comprehensive. Would definitely use this company again.

They are a very professional organization, very focused on customer satisfaction, and the electrician they sent was very good.

The work was done efficiently and quickly. The serviceman was polite and there was no muss or fuss.

There was an issue with the electricity in the kitchen. The power there would occasionally go off and then right itself, but then it turned off, and would not turn back on. Checked the fuses, and all seemed fine. Called Murphy's Electric and talked to Seth. He got an electrician out early the next day. Turned out to be a simple fix. Somehow the outlet near the stove had gotten damaged and that was breaking the circuit in that part of the kitchen. The electrician explained the problem and what he was going to do to fix it. He replaced the outlet and everything is working fine again. Best part....the service was provided free of charge due to our being a first time customer and the fix being quite simple. Obviously, I could not have been happier and I will definitely contact them again with any electrical issues.

It was easy to setup an appointment and they called promptly. The technician was courteous and efficient as could be. He explained what he was doing as he worked so I understood everything. He was thorough and reasonably priced. They got the job done in about 90 minutes.

I felt that the way the wording of how the deal was priced was very confusing, and there were extra costs associated with the deal that I was not happy with.

It went well. I wasn?t there at the time of service. He was prompt, professional and very thorough.

Overall, we're very happy with the work. The technician was good and did good work. We do think it was expensive, even with the "deal" we used.

First technician arrived on time . . very friendly . . but seemed very slow from the beginning. When he checked the breakers, he sat behind closed doors for a long time between muted cell phone calls. Then, moving slower than my 85yr old mother, he took the cover off the first plug and after 15 minutes, declared he had no idea what to do. We proceeded to the second plug, whereupon he also took the cover off a working plug to check the wiring, replaced it with much difficulty only to do it again 10 min later. I told him I would replace the cover (and to leave the first plug cover off) because it was soooooo slow. I'm not that handy but I can screw in 2 screws within 10min each time! He could not figure out the second plug so we went to the 3rd. This was an outdoor plug which he replaced in its entirety but with a cover that faced the wrong way and had to be pried open with a screw driver. At this point I told him, it was late and we should call it a day and that I would schedule a second visit. He left after 2+ hours (which included retrieving his tool belt and sitting in the van for 15min) he left me with an approx $397 bill for replacing one plug and leaving 3 uncovered. I called to complain and give Murphys the opportunity to make right and they sent a different technician out promptly. The second technician appeared pleasant and more competent, still could not fix the first plug but ran a new wire to the second, swapped out another and re-fixed the outside plug. He did spend a great deal more time problem shooting too. We never even got to the remaining plugs which I will have done in the future.Technician #2 certainly was a credit to Murphys, but it was marred by the lack of concern and contact by the owner Sean Murphy. It appeared throughout that they were more worried about collecting on the first invoice for the inept service, than on making good overall. He was able to speak with his manager and technician . . it would have been simple enough to speak to me as as their client . . just as a matter of courtesy and good business practice. I agreed to $410 for the 3 of 6 plugs fixed in 2 visits. Murphys may have provided good service to others in the past, but their expertise appears sporadic and their customer relations leaves much to be desired.

The work was good--though really, all the electrician did was give the socket a clean bill of health--and the electrician was competent. I'd avoid the coupon for $200 of electrical work for $100, however. It basically covers the call-out fee, which other electricians will often waive if you're having substantial work done anyway. It's not a very good deal. We'd originally planned on using the coupon for a much greater amount of work, until we learned that once you take away the call-out fee, you're paying $100 for 1/2 an hour of actual work.

It was 99$ off for something and I think it was wrong wording in the deal. May be 99$ off for the first hour of the service. So we had to pay extra and the final amount was around 400 to 500$. I would rate A for the guy who worked for us. He came in and did the job and he was quick. We did not have any issues with him or the timeliness of getting here. There was no mess and he did a good job. The price was misleading in the sense what you read is not what it actually is. We could have saved some money if he would have said the actual cost like minimum of 200$ or something like that.

They were very responsive and very professional. The quality of work was excellent.

He showed up on time, but was very suprised to learn we had bought the prepaid packaged deal, so he did not have an attic fan with him to install. And we had to produce a printout of the Angies List deal to prove to him he should not be charging us. Then he had to leave to go to Home Depot to buy one, which took a long time. I assume he bought the correct one as advertised in the deal, but I wasn't there and he took the box with him. (Our attic is very difficult to access, as the only entry point is inside a closet that requires you to unload and dissassemble the shelves to get to it - so since there is now a working fan, it just didn't seem worth it to go up and check on the model.) So in summary, they did come out on time, we did pay the agreed amount, and we do now have a working attic fan. And he was polite. But it was not the most organized/professional service I have seen. Not sure of the actual date. It was winter 2014.

Great service! Friendly staff made it very easy to setup and adjust appointments. Arrived right on the time and were extremely efficient and even took time to go above and beyond to clean afterwards. Highly recommend!

I contacted them regarding scheduling and he stated he could not accommodate me. He never did any work for me, nor did he come out to my home. They were not accommodating at all as far as scheduling, so I did not use their services.

Very straightforward; replaced lights quickly, plus took a look at a problem light that we may move in the future. Good deal with the Angies List coupon. Make sure you're prepared with all the needed supplies!

Work was performed promptly but with an unexpected consequence involving my garage door opener. Murphy's sent another electrician to fix the problem right away with no extra cost.

They overcharged us. I got them to refund a part of the cost, but it was not a good deal at all. They refunded an hour's worth of labor. It took the guy like three hours. As far as the work went, it was fine, but the price was ridiculous. They arrived an hour after they said they were going to.

It was good. They were upfront and gave me several options. I have no complains. They were prompt and provided good experience.
