Murphy Family Electric handled all phases of the project in a prompt and courteous way. I purchased a discount coupon in advance on Angie's List, at $129 for the first $200 worth of service. The electrician (Dan) made it a point of calling in advance to confirm the most convenient arrival time. The company had also sent a detailed email confirming the requested work, the date/time scheduled and an explanation of rates to be charged so I had a clear understanding of likely costs in advance. All the work was completed efficiently and professionally in 45 minutes on site. The total cost for the job after factoring in the coupon was $234. This was not the least expensive electrical work I've had done, but the electrician, after driving from customer almost 50 minutes away, was highly skilled and courteous ... and he had to work in a very restricted attic space. I would not hesitate to contact Murphy Family Electric for future needs and will recommend them to my friends.

In this old house, our 15-year-old landscape lighting was out, again: the outside electrical outlet had no power. We just moved in, and inherited no blueprints or schematics. The logical in-line GFI (we thought) was not tripped and had power. We and another electrician looked everywhere for other GFIs. - It was the electrician Dan who later quickly found the correct GFI, hidden in a corner of a secondary utility closet in a basement side room, and bada-bing - the landscape lights came on. Thank you.

Everything was stress-free - they were easy to schedule, answered questions ahead of time, reminded us about Angie's List coupon available, and so on. We're happy with the work and the price, and the gentleman who came out to install called 15 minutes before arriving, worked quickly and did a nice job.

All went well. The fixtures are in and I am happy.

We hired the company to address electrical issues that came up on a home inspection. The inspector reviewed the electrical wiring leading to the electrical box and deemed it safe. The home inspector had previously questioned whether the fuses were appropriate to the type of wiring. The electrician wrote up a receipt that we were able to give to the home buyers reflecting the safety inspection. The electrician also fixed two electrical switches in a bathroom that had not been wired correctly. Of the two switches, one turned on both the lights and fan of a bathroom. The electrician rewired it so that each switch controlled each item independently (lights and fan).

Technician was one time, brought all the right tools, worked quickly and efficiently. It was an easy job, but he did it properly and he did it well. We are pleased with the result and will definitely call on this company in the future if we need another electrical-related job. I obtained this service through Angie's List; I made use of a special offer for Angie's List clients by this company. I was quite satisfied with the entire process. (I'm usually pretty leery of special offers, but this was a good one.)

Great! He was very methodical in his troubleshooting and pleasant to work with. He found a breaker that was loose in the circuit breaker panel after about 20 minutes of work. He moved the breaker to another spot in the panel and re-routed the wire connected to it. Voila, lights back on!

I was changing out the light switches and dimmers in my recently remodeled basement and I was having difficulty getting the lights to work with a dimmer that was wired into the electrical outlet next to it. I bought a deal for $99 from Groupon for $200 of electrical work, and called Murphy's and they sent Eric out to help me out with my issue. Eric arrived on time and from the get go was very professional and friendly while diagnosing the problem. He was able to zero in on the problem very quickly, coming to find out I didn't have a completed circuit. Eric was able to get the lights working in no time after he discovered the problem. While he was there, and he was so quick in getting the dimmer done, I went ahead and had him go ahead and switch out my remaining light switches to ensure I wouldn't have any additional issues. It was a pleasure working with Murphy's and Eric and I would definitely hire them again if needed.

For the first time I found a contractor who actually valued my time. Dan was excellent. He hustled more than any other contractor I've used to make sure I got the best value for my money. Honestly, I had a hard time keeping up with him as he worked his way around my house to find the problem. Thankfully it was an easy fix in a place where I would have never found it. Make sure you ask for Dan!!! If I need an electrician in the future - It will only be Murphy Family Electric!

I used an Angie's List "deal coupon" and they contacted me promptly regarding scheduling the job. The electrician arrived as scheduled and the work was done quickly, neatly and professionally. The work was completed within the coupon's allotted time and for the deal price. There was an additional charge for materials, $35.00, and they advised me of this up front. Communications with the company were excellent. I was fully informed, in advance, of their policies regarding payment methods, etc. I would, and will, use them again if I need electrical services.

For over 15 years, the two-pole switch controlling the ceiling fixture in our foyer worked as expected, until one day a few months ago it didn't work. I suspected the switch had worn out. I used Angie's Deal and Murphy's Family Electrical came out a total four times in efforts to restore function to the switch. Dan, a trained electrician, just left and I must commend him for trying to correct matters although he could only turn the two-pole switch into a single pole switch. I accepted this result as the best one possible under the circumstances. Dan's professionalism was excellent, but hesitations about management diminished my experience to fair.

Went well. Make sure to call and get the details of what the offer on Angie's list. As I recall the drive time was part of the time involved to make a repair.

The electrician showed up at the scheduled time. He got to work immediately. He started work at the lamp that was on the metal pole in the front yard. He found that there was juice still coming through the wires to that lamp. This light hadn't worked in over 25 years - I had thought there was a break in the wiring going from the metal pole to the house. But after the electrician checked the wiring, he determined the problem had been in the lamp all along. He quickly removed the old, non working lamp and quickly replaced it with the new one. He then moved on to the lamp at the font door. He quickly removed the old lamp and worked on putting up the new lamp. He had some minor problems with putting up the new lamp, but he did get in done and the entire job took only about 30 minutes. I not only would recommend this company, but would use them again.

Great experience. Erik came and trouble shot the situation. Figured out the issue stemmed from the outside electrical box and fixed it in less than 30 minutes! Groupon covered the entire price of the service.

Everything was scheduled with Seth over the phone. This company has a good reputation and the price was in line with other quotes. The clincher (for me) was that they were able to show up to perform the job a full week before any of their competitors who were contacted. Eric was the technician's name. He showed up on time and we walked through the scope of the project. I showed him where there might be challenges and he asked questions pertaining to access for drilling and cutting. The job was supposed to take 4-6 hours, per my quotes. It took Eric less than 4. He ran the two lines, managed to only cut a small area of drywall and - best of all - reconnected our dishwasher and garbage disposal in an extremely neat and professional manner. He cleaned up after himself and made sure, before leaving, that all was well. I will strongly consider using Murphy Family Electric in the future. The only reason I would not would be in an emergency, based on availability. Highly recommended!
