Erik, who did the work, called to say he was running late, was pleasant and professional, and I'm satisfied with the quality of the work. I'm dissatisfied with the pricing. I bought an Angie's List special that offered $200.00 dollars of electrical work for $129.00. After purchasing the deal, the company told me that their rates were $199.00 for the first half hour, then $35.00 per quarter hour after that. I had gotten a quote a day earlier from a reputable company - Kolb Electric - of $98.00 for the first half hour and I believe $68.00 per half hour after that. It seems to me that this company jacks up their price, and that their special is nothing but a marketing ploy and actually cost me more than I would have paid otherwise. Perhaps others already know to beware of these types of "specials". I'll be reluctant to purchase any more of the special offers from Angie's List, and, in spite of liking Erik and being happy with his work, will certainly NEVER use this company again.

Murphy was able to send someone the same day. They were responsive, professional, and fast.

Eric, the electrician was great. He knew exactly what he was doing and did it with professionalism and ease. The only thing I would say is pay particular attention to the fine print versus what is advertised upfront....other than that I would definitely request Eric again.

We paid an additional $200. When the electrician arrived, he was mixed up on what we wanted. It took a little while for him to figure out what the solution was. We had to help him with that. We've used them before and they were fine. I'm not sure I would use them again though, at least not the electrician they sent out. He had trouble getting to the solution. I thought an electrician should have known what to do. We've used them before so we used them again.

Dan also said we needed a new fuse box. The lights went out after a few days, so we are calling to get an estimate for a new fuse box. We would like to get credit for returning to Murphy's.

The service provided was excellent. We received a call from the electrician informing us he was on his way with an estimated arrival time. Upon arrival he was very friendly and professional. He inspected the three lights and provided a possible explanation for the reason they were no longer working and then proceeded to fix the problem. Would be more than happy to use Murphy Family Electric again.

Very prompt and professional for a reasonable cost. We provided the equipment to be installed but did not have the fuses. The Murphy technician went to Home Depot and got them for us. The installed disconnect worked fine. Highly recommended.

Highly professional service, beginning with timely arrival, quick inspection of work needing to be done, and recommendation of most efficient way to proceed. Answered multiple questions about options and made quick modification when we agreed on changes. Thorough and efficient clean up to our complete satisfaction. Will recommend and use them again with enthusiasm.

Electrician was superb and "knew his stuff". He worked quickly and efficiently on both items and the extra charge beyond the Angie's list deal was for additional supplies to do the front plug. We were very pleased with his work and would definitely use them again.

The electrician was very courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient. He was there to only replace the smoke alarms but we asked for his advice on our ceiling fan. He was able to knock that project out quickly as well. I would definitely use Murphy Family Electric again!

We've called on Murphy Family Electric twice when the realities of our old house surpassed our rudimentary electrical skills. Both times, they have been very friendly, competent, and reasonably priced. We've purchased both the Angie's List deal and their Groupon, which really just provide a discount on their service initiation and van parts charge. Their rates once on the job are very reasonable and at no time do you feel like they are running out the clock for billing purposes. We'll definitely be using Murphy Family Electric in the future!

Dan was punctual, friendly, and efficient at the work he did. I would recommend HIM to anyone who needs an electrician. Unfortunately, when I set up the appointment the person setting things up didn't know what the serviceman could actually do. On the phone I was told they could run the exhaust line, drill the hole in the eaves, and fully set it up. Since I had the fan, the switch, and the outside vent he said the serviceman would have everything else. He outside work was a large part of how I selected the company and agreed to to price. When the serviceman arrived he said he couldn't do any of the outside part of the job. Considering that's what the company and I agreed to (and I paid an extra $100 because my walls aren't modern drywall) I feel like the company pulled a bait and switch. The outside work requires a 250' ladder and a 4" hole saw, which I didn't want to buy to do the work myself. The serviceman was great but I would make sure every detail is in writing in the future so the serviceman knows what he company obligated him to and you can get a refund for the part of the work they can't perform. I can't hold Dan responsible for this problem, it's a problem with their office. In retrospect, if the guy on the phone told me they couldn't do the outside work I would have kept calling around and I probably would have hired someone else. In the end the company got every dollar I agreed to pay and I got 85% of the work they agreed to provide. I called the office to try to sort this out but because they did the work on a Saturday (which is a great bonus considering my work schedule) no one answered the phone. Maybe they'll set this right and I'll change this review? we'll see.

Excellent experience. The Electrician, Erik, was on time and very professional. He explained the work he was doing and answered all our questions. There was quite a bit of dry wall cutting, etc. needed for what we had installed. The cuts and installation was very clean looking and he made sure to clean up the areas he was working in. I have used Murphy in the past and will for sure use them again. I really feel like I am getting value for the work as well. There are more expensive options out there and most likely cheaper as well, but I feel like their prices are fair and their response and service is excellent and that is all I could ask for.

Daniel was excellent. He did a great job and talked me through what he was doing. He was sure to ask me how I wanted everything. I plan on using this company again for more jobs.

Dan (from Murphy Family Electric) was friendly and professional and extremely well educated. He was comfortable around wiring and explained what he was doing the entire time.

The experience was positive. The technician was on time and showed me exactly where the issue was. He completed the repair in a timely manner and my air conditioner worked perfectly for the rest of the season.

When I made the appointment over the phone, Sean was very courteous and explained the pricing and how their special deals through Angie's List and Groupon worked. He explained that the work I needed done was subject to their hourly rates rather than their flat pricing. He also explained that I needed to sign a pre-work authorization. He then told me that he would have an electrician to my house at around 9:30 the next morning. Well, 9:30 came and went and no forms and no electrician. They did not answer the phone until 12:40 and when I finally reached Sean in the office, he said he had no idea why I didn't get the forms or why the appointment "didn't go through". He apologized and said that he would have an electrician come out "right away". I then got the email forms and completed them. At about 2:30 pm Erik arrived, very apologetic for the mixup. He performed the work efficiently and everything worked out well. I recommend these guys go something different in the office to ensure full follow through on making and scheduling appointments. I understand things happen, but to not have someone answering the phones during business hours could have resolved this earlier in the day. If I use them again, I would certainly expect better on-time performance.
