It was fine. The guy came and was able to fix everything that we needed, so that was great. It was about an hour and a half. There were not new jobs. That one job took longer. One worker came to do the work. Everything was perfectly clean. What I needed done was pretty straight forward and they were able to complete that with no problem.

I purchased the TV Outlet Installation deal listed here on Angie's List. Let me just say BUYER BEWARE. I paid $89 expecting to get a TV Outlet installed, in fact all I got was $90 TOWARDS the install of a TV Outlet. False advertising at its best here. This was what the deal said: Here's the Deal: $89 for installation of a TV outlet Low voltage wire hiding available for an additional fee Offer includes materials and up to 2 hours labor First it took this guy 2.5 hours to move the ALREADY existing coax cable about 3 feet so it would be in the wall behind the TV. But wait there is more. The offer did not include materials because when they gave me the bill at the end I was charged an additional $29.00 for parts. So exactly what materials were covered? Then because he took 2.5 hours to do a very simple job I also got charged an additional $70 on top of the deal price. Ladies and gentlemen...this was no deal. This was just straight up deceptive. Now I will be honest, I thought they were professional and the quality of the work I have no complaints with. But I value honesty and integrity in my service professionals and I cannot give this company a recommendation because I feel they posted a deceitful ad and did not live up to the terms of it at all. Extremely disappointed, will definitely skip using them in the future.

Fine - it was a simple replacement of the cartridge in the faucet. $260 for part and labor. In and out in 30 minutes.

I hired Murphy Family Services to install a ceiling fan. They responded quickly to my initial inquiry and I went to their site to book an appointment for 11am on a Friday. I received multiple confirmation texts and emails. Friday morning less than an hour before the service was to be performed, they informed me they would not be able to make it AT ALL that day...not just later but not at all. I was on travel, called them back, and asked about rescheduling. The owner told me they WOULD be able to make it and my roommate could expect the electrician within the hour. HE NEVER SHOWED UP. DIDN'T EVEN CALL. JUST NEVER SHOWED UP. I can understand emergency situations and I was fine with rescheduling but the fact that they couldn't pick up the phone is an overall indication of complete lack of professionalism. Then I received an email saying my service would be rescheduled for Saturday at 3:45pm...like anyone is home on Saturday afternoons. I am not at the whim of their poor planning and inability to schedule properly. I tried to cancel but the site wouldn't let me because it was within 24 hours and I just called to speak with them and, shocker, no one answered. Don't waste your time with this sad excuse for a company.

The tech was Shawn and he was amazing. Easy to schedule.

Replace fuse for lights and checked circuits.

Horrible experience. Appointment was rescheduled five times and still managed to arrive late. Sent someone who did not work for the company but was subcontracted. Did not have tools or repair parts. Had to leave bring them. Could't fix the problem and refused to reimburse the money. Avoid!

The work was done well. The electrician was understanding and worked hard the whole time. I will definitely hire them again and recommend them to anyone. I also used the website to book a date and time. That worked well too.

I think they have great employees that do amazing work. However, it was frustrating because they could not give me a guaranteed arrival time, either time I used them.

They were great. I spent another $30 or $40.

I was not pleased. He did something that wasn’t quite… Those things burn out bulbs like crazy and it also make me frighten. I told myself that once I get a little money together I’m just gonna get them have them redone by somebody else. I haven’t had any evidence of any sparkling or nothing like that. I just think that there is something wrong with the way he did it. He throw away the motion detector lights and my box of instructions. I called them and said why did you do that? I was in the house so he left and I would think he would have left them on the porch. I went to look for them because there was something crazy about the way the motion lights work. I wasn’t really very pleased. I can’t really swear that it’s not something in the fixture. The customer service wasn’t great. They had a hole in one of them which I have to plug. The lighter was a littler smaller where the masonry was, he was not very helpful and he could have placed it better. Where the older fixture was must have been a little larger for the base plate and he could have moved it a little bit down because it was not a big hole.

It went really well. They were really nice. They didn't cost as much as I thought, very reasonable. They did an excellent job, I'm very pleased. The electrician was extremely professional.

Their tech installed a circuit breaker loosely and they didn?t install a surge protector. It was found by another electrician. Murphy Family Services refused to send a tech over to fix it. It may be a safety hazard and needs to be fixed. They said that their tech was no longer with them and they didn't want to deal with me and hung up on me.

Everything was completed as asked. Tech showed up on time and called ahead. Cost was a bit higher than I was expecting but his work looks good.

It went well the job was complete just a little difficult getting someone to do the job.

Technician was punctual and completed work. No errors in workmanship noted. However, he encountered difficulty in removing one old ceiling fan housing and did not have the correct tools to cut an existing screw that had stripped threads. Fortunately, my son fixed the problem with his own grinder. Had my son not been available with the correct equipment, the job would possibly have to have been abandoned or at least delayed. I believe the technician should have been available to fix the problem. The technician picked up most of the debris from the job,but I felt could have been more thorough. (The homeowner was left to clean up himself.)

It didn't - I tried to make appointments multiple times and was never contacted again. I had prepaid on a special and was very disappointed. This is the only bad experience I have ever had with Angie's List.

Purchased a deal on Angie's List for $200 worth of electrical work for $99. Two individuals showed up, one more experienced, the other seemed to be an apprentice of sort. When they got there, I was quickly informed that security camera installation falls under a different category and there would be an upcharge. I don't recall what the price is anymore but I paid it of course since I had already invested $100 into the process. They arrived on time at 10AM but because they didn't have a part, they ended up going to the store to by them. On the way back, they decided to do two more jobs because they stated my job was so easy the should be able to get it done very fast. They didn't get back until it was already getting dark around 5PM. The experienced electrician installed an outdoor outlet in the back and plugged in the camera. The outlet box sticks out from my wall about 8 inches and about knee level and is a bit annoying but he assures that it's what's necessary to be up to code. I don't know why he could recess the box into the wall but he's the professional so I had to trust his judgement. The less experienced electrician cut the power cord to my security camera in half, spliced in what looks to me like speaker wires, poked about a 1" hole through my drywall, through the brick exterior, and plugged the wires into the outlet on my second story bedroom. He did not seal up the hole. He did not put a grommet in the hole or anything like that. I literally could look out the hole and see outside and there was a steady breeze blowing through. The new wire was not loomed or protected in any way and ran on the roof of my front porch and to the front camera. I was surprised when they declared they were done after these steps. The rear is functional but visually unappealing. In the front, I eventually caulked the hole since the rain was causing damage to my drywall and a squirrel eventually chewed through the wire causing my camera to stop working. I finally just removed the whole camera and paid a professional to come fix my wall. I put off writing this review for a long time because I don't like to write negative reviews. However, as I've come to experience good services more, I think it's essential to tell the truth about my experience.

Went fine. Again, simple job.

I had contacted the company in advance after buying the special, I explained I needed a ceiling fan with light installed into a nursery. I explained that there was no electrical box in the area and that the electrician would need to create the new connections and I wanted the ceiling fan connected to the switch in the room. At that time I was given a quote of roughly $350 for the total work, so it should have been an additional $150 when the electrician arrived minus the special I had paid for. The electrician showed up on time on the agreed upon date. He got to work and installed the fan, then he told me he couldn't connect it to the light switch because of a barrier in the ceiling area (not true, a friend who is an electrician came down a couple of months later and fixed the issue easily). He then gave me a bill for $434.50 which meant I owed $234.50 after the special was discounted. I asked about the difference in price and he said it was because they didn't know that an electrical box would need to be installed, which is not true as I had told them at initial contact. They charged me $44.50 for the metal fan box, which if I had known I would need ahead of time I would have purchased for them for less than half the price they charged me. The company also apparently charges a $30 van parts fee on every call, which I was unaware of and considering they charged me $50 for the lines and $44.50 for the fan box seems like an excessive additional fee. Also they charge $169 flat for the first half hour of work. I have since worked with other electricians and that rate generally covers an entire hour. Because of the price changes at time of service and the inability to do what was requested I cannot recommend this company.
