Erik was great, on time, totally pleasant to work with and very helpful with explanations and suggestions would definitely hire again.

I left a message on Tuesday and Wednesday to give time to respond before I wrote this review. I have not received a call, so here’s my response…. In the past, I’ve had great service from Murphy, but this Tuesday was different. I used the automated system to request the electrician I was familiar working with, as well as a date and time for electrical work to be done in my condo. Specifically, I needed one recessed light converted to a hanging pendant above my bar area, and one outlet changed that had worn out-not difficult projects. My issues: • The appointment was scheduled for 10:00, but the electrician showed up at 12. He called to let me know he was going to be very late, and offered to reschedule, but I’m moving which is why I scheduled a specific date and time. • The person I requested was not sent out to my house. Thus, at this point I was already questioning my usage of the scheduling system promoted by Murphy Electric. • Electrical services that should not have taken longer than 30 minutes to complete (one pendant light conversion and on outlet change) took an hour. Included in that hour was the electrician’s need to go to the bathroom. I understand if you gotta go, you gotta go, but I’m not paying for that, as well as slow service in general. In short, the electrician was friendly, but very slowwwwwwwww. His slowness doubled my bill. Rather than 99 dollars it was 198 dollars. • The manager should have called by now to try to work out this customer service issue. For reference, I paid IN FULL, but if this is not resolved I will take my electrical work elsewhere. I have one more project before I fly out. My recommendations: • If you use your Murphy Electrical, make sure you agree beforehand how long the standard is for any electrical service you contract out for to avoid any surprises. • Do not use their automated scheduling system. If you can’t get a person on the phone, call another company. • Work with an electrician you are familiar with. Erik is my favorite electrician. If I had had the time, I would have rescheduled with him.

They never showed. Used their online system over the weekend for an appointment on a Wednesday. Wednesday morning, I get an email saying it was rescheduled for the Thursday. Thursday I get a call saying their was a family emergency with the electrician, so I was rescheduled for the Friday afternoon. I contacted the office on Friday afternoon to get a better idea of when they would arrive. I was told they had no appointments listed and did not know that I needed to be rescheduled, and they would have to schedule me for the following week. At that point, I said no thanks, I want an electrician who will show up.

Excellent! Cortez was was very responsive: he let me know he was on his way and was on time. He assessed the issue and got right down to work. He showed me how he installed the outlet to make it flush with the house siding. Murphy Family Services made everything very easy and painless for me!

Excellent. There was a bit of a scheduling snafu at the beginning, but once Eric arrived he was done in an hour. Fan/light looks and works great.

They did a good job. Professional and cleaned everything. I did get caught off guard by an increase in the total price by having to buy all my own lighting fixtures.

OMG, Cortez was GREEAAT. Although the original appointment was rescheduled due to mechanical issues with one of their service trucks, they called me ahead to cancel and we didn't mind since it was Memorial Day weekend and we had a lot of activities going on. Well, Cortez, called me the morning of the rescheduled appointment, gave me an estimated time of his arrival and called again when he was 15 minutes away from my neighborhood. When he arrived and placed his booties over his shoes, I told him, there was no need as we have a dog who runs in and out of the house, but he still put them on and took them off as he went in and out. He listened to me for where I wanted the lights installed ( in my dead spots) and then he provided a better asymmetrical look for my kitchen that actually works and looks better. He was done in a little less than the 3-hour time frame and we are so excited about the new lights. He did tell me I purchased the wrong bulbs (got daylight instead of soft white, but that was an easy fix and my fiance' was able to change them out for me). Everyone who has visited us since having these lights installed is amazed at how bright it is and needless to say, I can finally see when I cook without relying on under cabinet lighting. Hats off to this company, because another contractor priced this same job at $900 for stuff that I even know was "crazy." There was no need for making a new outlet, patching up any drywall, and painting. Cortez was on it and even cleaned up the mess. Now how professional is that. I will use this company again without the Angie's List deal price.

He could not repair the chandelier because I need to order parts that were damaged. I order the parts and I will ask the vendor to return.

Erik was punctual and very efficient in installing the fans. We are delighted to have working fans! It was easy to schedule the service appointment. We are very pleased with the work from this company. Thank you.

I can't say enough good things about Murphy's! Eric showed up right on time, was really pleasant and took his time to explain things to me. We had a set of outlets that stopped working, he tested all the outlets and showed me how to fix it using the circuit breaker (using the one switch I hadn't tried). He then installed a ceiling fan in a guest room and looked at an issue with another ceiling fan. He was here for about an hour. I will definitely use Murphy's again and request Eric. I also like how you can make an appointment online and they send you text reminders of your appointment.

Job was performed and I was very happy with the skilled and neatness of the installation

Eric was clearly a very skilled and experienced electrician. He moved quickly through the long list of electrical tasks, working all day - even through lunch - to ensure that everything was completed. He was very focused on task completion, but was also pleasant and accommodating. We had carpeting installed during part of the time that he was re-wiring two switches and a ceiling fan and he worked seamlessly around them and with them. It was a pleasure to have him work with us and I would definitely hire Murphy Family Services again!

Ceiling fan replacement went well! Technician arrived early due to another customer cancellation. He found that that existing fan was not installed correctly and advised me of what he need to do to install correctly. There was an additional feel but it was nominal. I especially liked the online scheduling systems that gave me text reminders of the appointment and the easy payment system through Square. Will definitely hire again for future work.

In and out in about 15 minutes, discrepancy resolved.

Based on good reviews on list, bought the service for installing 4 recessed lights in the library. Erik came on time and installed lights. He complained about drilling holes across studs to get the cable on the other side. I am thinking this is something you find all the time and my house is nothing special, he was pretty upset about it. Anyways, he finally installed the lights but had to cut dry wall in 3-4 places to get the cable. He told me I need to get someone to fix dry wall and paint. I told him that the deal talks about dry wall construction and finally he said i am only electrician and talk to Sean (owner) for whom i left few messages never to get call back. I had to make payment but will never hire again. I will have to spend another $300 to get the mess cleaned up but would have saved if i had gone with someone who would have done the work correctly

Was able to easily schedule a service call online, although the technician was a bit late due to complications at their prior job. Booked a flat-rate service, but they actually lowered the final price because it took less time than expected. Will definitely hire for future electrical needs.
