Description of Work: I used the SnapFix app for the first time to have a chandelier installed in my 2-story foyer. After the concierge suggested Murphy Family Electric because of a Big Deal they were offering, I negotiated a fee with the company as my neighbor too was in need of the same service. I believe Sean with the company was extremely responsive and worked with me on what I believe is an extremely fair price. The gentlemen that installed the chandelier were great to work with, courteous, punctual, and go the job done well.

Description of Work: They replaced the outlet in the laundry room so I could plug in the new dryer. When I told the technician I was observing, he walked me through the work he was doing-which was beyond the initial request!

Description of Work: Had some issues from our inspectors report that needed to be fixed plus some lighting fixture installations. Our guy was very nice, willing to explain and teach (we are first time homeowners) and fast with the work. He fixed 8 outlets that were wired wrong, a circuit in our breaker box, and replaced a ceiling fan, bathroom light fixture and hallway light fixture. | |Only negative was that it was apparent that there was some miscommunication between the scheduler, the boss and our guy for scheduling the appointment and the scope of work that we actually needed completed. Not the biggest deal and our guy was very professional about it. Only red flag for us was that the boss should probably do a better job at communicating down to his folks so they know a scope of work before they show up at a home and are surprised to find out what they are expected to do. | |Overall, we would go with them again! | |

Description of Work: The woman who took my call was a little confused about the Angie's List deal but the man who came out was terrific. He was a subcontractor as I understand it, but was very honest and charged me far less than what had initially been quoted. He installed an electrical outlet in my garage and was able to hook into existing wiring.

Description of Work: I bought the big deal from Angie's List for Murphy Family Electric to fix a light in a ceiling fan that was not working. They were on time, very nice and courteous. The tech looked at the box and said they could not fix it, as according to them their was something wrong with the internal portion of the fan mechanism that was causing the lightbulb to not work. We tried several bulbs and they shorted out immediately. They recommended that I get a new ceiling fan as the cost of pulling down, diagnosing the issue and fixing it would be rather expensive. The next day - on a whim - I called another Angie's List vendor called The FanMan and explained the issue. They asked me what type of bulb I was putting in the fan socket - I looked at the package and said "12v." He said try a one hundred 120v bulb instead. I went down to Lowe's picked one up - put it in - and voila the fan light worked. They were nice, on time and professional - however, this seemed like a simple diagnosis that I thought the Murphy tech should have been able to diagnose - and another vendor did in about 60 seconds over the phone - hence, their C grade.

Description of Work: Fantastic. On time. Did good work. Explained how the wiring worked in the house (house built in 1952 so not up to modern standards). I would highly recommend Murphy's.

Description of Work: I should have asked what was included in the $199 of work that I bought for $99. Fees amounted to $150. My deal bought me 1/2 hour of work. Technician's work was good but he was very late.

Description of Work: I was very pleased with this company's service. Two technicians arrived and one installed a new kitchen sconce for me while the other one checked out my problem with a fan in one of my bedrooms. They were efficient and very professional. I would recommend their services and would try this company again.
