Wonderfully! Arrived early and work was performed. Extremely friendly and would use again.

The electrical outlets in our master bathroom suddenly stopped working. Jake was very responsive to our call, and quickly diagnosed and fixed our problem. He was efficient, friendly, and highly professional. Should we encounter another problem with our electrical system, we will not hesitate to call upon Murphy Family Services.

Went great. We were able to get an appointment the day after claiming the deal. Jake found that some illegal wiring had previously been done while running the wires for the lighting. He fixed that for us as well. Really pleased with the results and will definitely be hiring again. I've already recommended them to a few friends.

Service was excellent and timely. I booked the service call last night and had my service confirmed immediately and done this morning - really efficient and professional job. Would definitely hire again and recommend for electric jobs - big or small.

I got a call the same day as I purchased the deal. They were able to come over the same day which was nice. I had issues with some small space heaters blowing the main breaker which made absolutely no sense to me. The breaker was recently inspected by Fairfax county after a renovation that was recently done which makes me wonder how closely the county actually looked at the work (they also missed the fact that the guy didn't put a p-trap in the new bathtub drain). Jake showed up early which was nice and immediately asked if I wanted him to take his shoes off (nice gesture). He understood exactly what I was telling him- he opened up the box and immediately figured out what the issue was - stuff not being tight and too much exposed wire on one of the main hot lines. He knocked it all out in about 20 mins which saved me some money. I can think of several things that another less honest company could have pushed me to buy, but Jake just did what needed to be done. The problem I had is now gone. I told my contractor not to make these mistakes at other houses that he does. Now, I'm not sure if I should send a note to the Fairfax county asking why their inspector didn't tell my contractor to correct this. Another note - the website that they have is really nice. It is so simple, and a lot of services that they do are priced out - you can buy them right up front. I'm not sure why other companies don't make things simple like this. They are 100% digital, too. To pay for the service, I just swiped my cart on the phone and signed. There wasn't any old paper invoices where you rip off the top copy and have this nasty looking pink paper lying around the house. They sent me a text receipt and email. As a tech worker, I thought it was cool how they used square.. it's really simple and easy.

It went well. The electrician was very professional and knew exactly what he was to do and did it.

The repairs were done quickly. Everything being done was explained. Recommendations provided for future repairs. Would hire again.

Jake arrived on time and quickly evaluated the scope of the work, gathered his supplies and worked hard for 6 1/2 hours. A couple of issues popped up that he handled with creativity, professionalism and a great attitude. From the quick response on my initial inquiry to a full cleanup of the work space, my experience was first rate. I would highly recommend!

Mike arrived on time. He worked diligently and finished everything with high quality and great attitude. He constantly checked in to make sure the work is to my satisfaction. He even saved me money by completing all the work earlier than expected. Definitely will hire him again!

Jake arrived 15 minutes early which was great. The install of our electric charging port was done much easier than anticipated. They were able to reuse existing wiring which saved a significant amount of money and time. Since we were done so early (and I had a half day prepaid) Jake was able to fix an outdoor outlet that NEVER worked properly as well as a recessed light that never seems to have been connected. Regarding the professionalism of both Jake and the company it was top notch. I don't feel as though the company tried to do work beyond what I ordered nor was I pushed in any one direction. Jake was a great guy and had good conversation along the way. Can't say enough. I would hire them again in a second.

The electrician (forgot his name - based out of Frederick) was professional, polite and seemed very knowledgeable. However, the price paid was not nearly worth the service - replaced a ballast, troubleshot a couple of outside light fixtures and outlets. The amount paid was $361 ($100 Groupon + $261 service call). The pricing was not explained in groupon. Honestly, with the follow up work I am hesitant to use Murphy again unless there's some sort of credit applied.

Work was great. Just bought a 1972 townhouse that needs some serious updating. Michael installed a ceiling fan and light in rooms with no prior wiring, switched a light out with a new fan, replaced a hall light and added electrical outlets to bathrooms that had no outlets, fixed a minor issue with the garbage disposal, installed 2 new smoke detectors and replaced a couple of outlets. Everything is completed on time and will be hiring again as I have a lot more outlets to replace.

Randy was fantastic as an electrician and was very personable. Would highly recommend him. As far as using the provider, I would not personally use them anymore. I purchased the Electrician for 7 hours deal. Due to car issues with their company car, Randy was late. I put that on the company for not maintaining the car properly. That also irks me that a $29 fee was charged for maintenance, tolls, gas etc..., knowing full well the car wasn’t maintained and no tolls were charged on the way here. The $36 dollar extra charge for them using their tools, and wear and tear of them, really upset me. It’s a ridiculous charge, especially when I offered the company to use my own tools which are exactly what the Electrician used on his own. That charge, and the former one, either needs to be revamped, nullified, or rolled into the price where one can’t see it. These extra charges were/are not explicitly spelled out in the Angie’s list deal. One could also argue there is a gray area explanation on their own website about it too. Due to me not being able to stay more time for Randy being an hour and a half late, I asked the company to refund me for the hour and a half portion I lose in work. I was told they can’t but I can do the 4 hour deal. The 4 hour deal is a higher premium, $1.61 per minute, than the 7 hour deal at $1.41 per minute. So I paid a higher premium and all the work I needed done couldn’t be finished. It would have been, in the 7 hours, as I predicted. I now have to have another electrician come finish the job. I will say the price is a great deal minus the extra charges.

Excellent and professional services. Specifically, when the DC Inspector opened the electric panel and looked at the work his spontaneous remark was "beautiful work". Shortly after which he stated to me you have your certification, pass inspection. Thanks AJ and Sean for prompt and good professional service. I highly recommend this company...

Went well and as expected. Jacob was a true professional - was going to replace my doorbell with a video doorbell, but due to unforeseen circumstances, was advised that it might be cost prohibitive - I appreciated the honesty.

Worked quickly and was done in no time.

An electric outlet was installed satisfactorily. However, they charged a service charge that was not mentioned in the coupon and that brought the total price to be substantially more than the agreed upon coupon rate that I purchased. This was definitely not mentioned at all in the coupon, although after you've ordered and committed yourself -- they mention it in the ordering conditions so if you don't want to pay it, you have to reject it and not have the work done when planned to avoid the additional charge. When they first started their service, they didn't transact business in this fashion.

Scott’s a pro. Amazingly clean work even with messy plaster and older wiring. I’ll use them again for any figure projects.

I needed a bathtub installed in northern WV. However, the company suggested by Angie's list is located in northern Virginia.. hours away from my rental home. I entered the correct zip code, so I am not sure how this happened.

Murphy was out twice to fix exterior outlets that didn't work. The tech, supposedly "fixed" one and replaced the other. In less than two months, neither worked. When I called to ask them to fix the job that was obviously inadequate, they refused. When I asked Mr. Murphy to stand behind the work he had done he refused. Instead he suggested I have him come out and "do the job correctly." I thought that was what I had paid for the first two times.
