The November 2016 project did not go smoothly. I had actually met with H&A much earlier, and there was considerable delay getting the project rolling -- I made numerous attempts to contact H&A and had a terrible time getting a response back. Finally, I received drawings and the work was completed and installed. The work they do is very good, so, despite my reservations, I offered them the opportunity to work on the full wall of custom cabinetry for a bathroom renovation. I met with H&A, with the general contractor who was doing the renovation, March 17, to be sure everyone was on the same page and understood exactly what was expected and the timeline (renovation to start April 25). I met with H&A again April 18, to clarify some design features. When I received drawings, they were rather far off what was discussed at both meetings, and I contacted H&A to request the changes, and explain the urgency--by this time the bathroom demo had begun, and I was concerned H&A was going to hold up progress by not having the cabinetry ready. On April 26, H&A informed me they would not have cabinetry for another 3-4 weeks. I know, with the March 17 meeting, I allowed plenty of time for H&A to be on time with the project and I am severely disappointed, not only in their failure to deliver cabinetry that met the timeline, but also with the lack of consideration and professionalism of not letting me know they would be unable to complete the project. I understand the owner is struggling with some health issues, but they need to understand people are depending on them to deliver what they say they can deliver, and if they can't, they shouldn't even take the time to meet with the customer. I have had to find another option for the cabinetry, and although I think H&A does really good work, I will not go through the aggravation of trying to do business with them for other custom cabinetry I have planned for the near future.
Description of Work: I had worked with H&A many years ago for some custom cabinetry and Sub Zero refrigerator cladding and surround, and that went great, and again in November 2016, for a full wall built in on the living room. The current project was a full wall (8 feet) of custom cabinetry in connection with a total bathroom renovation, including tall linen storage, sink vanity, and make-up space.
