Friendly Plumber did a spectacular job on my Kitchen sink and faucet install. The installer was on time and very professional. I will be using Friendly Plumber in all my future projects.

I hired them to install an icemaker water line and fix a leaking bathroom sink. They proceeded to give estimates on a number of other things (e.g., "install new 6 in flu (sic) stack", 3/4 ball valve, Standard Complete Code Upgrades With Heter (sic) (flue, gas flex, expansion tank, straps))that I never requested, with a quote of $2995.50. Ridiculous. The second estimate was for things that I'd requested and it showed a charge of $203.90 for a sink pop. I challenged the plumber and was told "it cost more because it's brushed nickel." I could buy a number of brushed nickel popups at Lowe's for between $20-40. I was then told that they'd had to buy a whole faucet assembly for the part...yet were only going to replace the popup. I challenged the guy on the cost and was told that they had to make a profit and the markup was 3.5 times the cost of the part. The quote I got, however, was over 10 times as much as the lowest priced popup at Lowe's. I told them to forget that and only install the icemaker water line. They installed it and we were charged $346, which was about $200 more than I was charged for this same service in Florida a few years back. My suggestion: look for another plumber who isn't so friendly trying to grab your cash!
