We just started with them

They are very good, professional and on time.  Their prices are too high.

An ASR technician came out the afternoon I called. My a/c system needed between 2 and 2.5 lbs. of freon, and he asked me if I wanted sealant to protect against future leaks. He told me the sealant would be $150. When he was finished he presented me with a bill for $500, plus tax, for a total of $530. He built this bill by charging a $75 trip charge, a $90 labor charge, and charges for the freon and the sealant. He made a big deal out of how expensive freon was since the old type I needed has been banned by the EPA or somebody. Another tech had told me days earlier that the wholesale cost of freon had increased to about $25/lb. I was charged almost 4 times that much, and I found out later that the sealant he charged me $150 for can be bought all the time on Ebay for $50. So, in addition to the trip charge and the labor charge, the and quot;partsand quot; chargeand quot; included a markup of conservatively 200-300%. The total bill was outrageous for charging the system with 2 lbs of freon and adding the sealant. (The technician that did this exact same job for me 2 years previously charged half as much.) I won't call ASR again. (Other a/c technicians I've talked to also make a big deal out of the fact that the cost of freon has gone up. No doubt this is true, but it does not account for the billing practices over which the businesses do have control and the various charges and markups that inflate bills like this to outrageous levels.)

Our experience with ASR was nothing short of exceptional, and I would
not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a professional, honest and
knowledgeable company with plenty of experience and many years in the
business. I researched many different AC units and companies before hiring ASR and we
are so thankful that we chose them to do the installation of our 2 new split system AC/Furnace units
We were extremely worried about choosing a trustworthy, knowledgeable
contractor as this was such huge investment/ expense for us as
homeowners.
We had already decided that we wanted the American
Standard brand Air Conditioner to replace our 18 year old
and quot;builders gradeand quot;units. We could have cut our costs by choosing a less
expensive, lower end AC unit, however after doing months of research on
all the different brands and types, we knew felt like American Standard
(who also makes the Trane brand AC units), was the brand to go with.
We had originally only planned to replace our one downstairs 4 Ton unit,
however, after realizing that our 2nd 18 year old upstairs unit was and quot;on
it's last legsand quot; after countless repairs each year, we decided to just
bite the bullet and replace both AC units.
Our original AC units were both one the cheaper grade brands that the builder installed and completely and quot;energy inefficientand quot;.
ASR did NOT suggest or pressure us to replace both units nor did
they try to and quot;up-selland quot; us which we appreciated! That was just our personal decision.
ASR was professional, extremely knowledgeable, informative and honest.
That's just one of the initial reasons we liked them so much. They have
been in the AC business many years and in analyzing our house and needs,
and various problems we had with certain rooms that were too hot or too
cold, they went several steps further than all the other companies we
had come out and make recommendations for us. They are extremely and quot;detail
orientedand quot; and they use only contractors that have worked for them for
many years as a and quot;teamand quot;. They don't use various subcontractors, which was
also vital to our decision. With subcontractors, you never know who
tour will end up with or what type of work they will do.
ASR was extremely fair with their price quote and not overpriced. We have
learned from past experience in hiring various contractors that and quot;bigger
is not always betterand quot; when it comes to companies work or customer
service.
We will have ASR perform all yearly maintenance over the coming years.
We told them that all their employees and installers were so professional
and dedicated that we wish they did remodeling. If they did, we would
hire them for that too!
One last thing… they cleaned up any mess...A huge plus!
They left everything pristine and clean! It's really hard to find a
company like this these days. They truly care about their customers
satisfaction and they make that obvious. Once again, I would recommend ASR without a second thought! You get what you pay for! (DONT to be confused by the company with the similiar name of ARS- they are not related)

ASR Mechanical was a lifesaver when they came last September. It was so hot and they were very responsive to our needs. They were very accommodating and helpful.
