The negative part of this experience was the salesman-like attitude of the repairman. He seemed more interested in selling extra services than just addressing the needed repairs. To our regret, we let him talk us into a one year maintenance agreement which was rather costly. Early the next year the maintenance inspection service call was scheduled. On the appointed day and time we stayed home all day awaiting the repairman's arrival which never occurred. Late that afternoon we called and were told that the repairman had come to our house but we were not at home, which was just not true. At that time we did not reschedule. To their credit, they called us several times to reschedule but we did not do so. Our reasons were that we anticipated that, besides the inspection, it would be another sales pitch to try and get us to buy coil, duct cleaning and/or other services. Overall we were not overly impressed although they did a good job on the initial holiday weekend repair work. We have had no other A/C Heating issues since.
Description of Work: First the good part. Our A/C went out on Labor Day weekend and the repairman came out on that holiday weekend, which was nice since we had out of town guests. No other A/C repair company would respond. The drain line was cleared and a clean out port was installed so that I could clear future clogs. The repairman inspected the system and gave a list of potential maintenance issues that possibly needed to be addressed, which we opted out of at that time.

I have loved each experience except for the most recent. I did not like the last man who came out. They also did not follow up after the work to ask about the experience. I will not continue to use their service.
Description of Work: I had been using their services for about ten years. They installed the original heater and ac on the inside and outside of the house. About five years ago, they installed another outside unit. They were doing my yearly check and maintenance work.

His service was real nice. He showed and explained how to do it. I had to use the stairs to the attic and he offered twice to help me. He was great! They call after the service man has been there and they ask how well they did. I recently got a call from their employee and I explained that man was great They came the day I called. It took them about three hours. He called to tell me when he was on the way. He was very professional.
Description of Work: They have been out several times. They were just out Friday. The air and the heat was not working. The pipes had been clogged. He cleaned those out. He told me to get liquid Drano and put it in there about every three months to prevent build up. I asked him if we should change the pipes. He said it would be cheaper to be clean them.

It went very well. We just relocated from Louisiana last year and we purchased a house that is between 2 and 3 years old, but has never been lived in. We just wanted to make sure the HVAV was in good order. We had a similar plan at our house in LA and the price seemed comparable (after discount), so I decided to purchase. It was very easy to set up the appointment and they showed up and did the maintanance. The technician was prompt and very professional.
Description of Work: I purchased the 2 yr maintenance plan. The basically come in and perform maintenance and check up on your HVAC system.

The overall experience was poor.
Description of Work: Estimate was given on June 14, 2012 to replace air handler and clean air ducts. Work began on June 19, 2012. The next day the unit froze up. From the day of installation, 6 more trips were made between the installation and August 16, 2012 to correct and repair problems. From dripping water under the unit causing mold on the wood floors and ruining everything that was wet in the closet to being scolded and told the dirty filter which was just replace with Conroe A/C filter was the cause of the problem. One trip the a/c technician had to use a shop vac to remove the water under the handler. Since then, the wood floors have been removed along with the mold in the closet. This was all caused due to the incorrect installation of the air handler. There was a bucket left over night to catch the dripping water and was completely full the next day. One visit was charged as a service call even though the problem was with the initial installation. I sent a certified letter to Conroe Air Conditioning with pictures of the pipes being run uphill from the air handler to the mold in the closet. I received a letter yesterday from the company stating: "Having had not further request for service or telephone contacted since August 17, 2012 I would hope you agree the repairs were done satisfactorily". I sent them pictures and documentation of everything. I chose this company to stay local. I would not recommend them to any one. Each technician that came out told me something different with every trip from the initial installation, to what wasn't done correct from the beginning even the the financing should have been of 12 months and not 6.

We are disappointed whenever a client is not completely satisfied with our performance. Our records indicate: 6/19/12 Air Handler installed. Heat kit back-ordered 6/22/12 Installed heat kit and adjusted refrigerant charge 7/6/12 No a/c call, found plugged filters (due to ongoing construction) 7/13/12 No a/c call, Opened up air chase to increase air flow 8/16/12 Water leak, Drain adapter appears stripped-scheduled return on 8/17/12 8/17/12 After disassembling drain found adapter ok. Redesigned drain line and installed p trap and float We have had no additional requests for service or complaints since 8/17/12. We received a letter from the customer on 2/8/13 indicating her concerns. Several phone calls went unanswered and we responded via letter to the customer questions. Regarding the financing, the customers were offered and accepted 6 month 0% financing from GE Money. These financing terms were accepted by the customer and verified with each monthly GE Money invoice. We offered (in our 2/19/13 letter) an additional financing company who might offer refinancing if they so desired. I offered my apology for any misunderstandings in my letter dated 2/19/13. I also indicated that I would be happy to discuss her concerns further if she would like. We are an Angies list A rated as well as a BBB A+ rated contractor. We strive to make every client completely satisfied.

I ended up buying a service agreement with them; which I think was a rip-off. The service agreement was for them to come out twice a year and inspect my unit. They did come out one time and gave my husband a list of $1,900 worth of stuff that they wanted to do to my air conditioner. I said, no way. I will use them again for repairs but I will not buy a service agreement with them.

Perhaps we didn't explain our recommendations clearly enough and if that was the case, I hope this explanation will help. When ever you have a reputable Air Conditioning company work on your equipment, they are very much like a doctor. They should look over the entire patient (your a/c system in this case) and report to you any recommendations that will improve the safety and performance of your equipment. Just like the doctors recommendations, you are free to ignore his/her advise at your own peril. The $1800 in recommendations were made to improve the safety and performance of your a/c equipment. We provide this information to you as part of the diagnosis service you have already paid for. We certainly appreciate your business and work hard at earning it.

Had a bit of delay with the Tech arriving as scheduled. However, once Israel arrived, I could tell that chosing Conroe Air was the right choice. Israel put on his shoe booties and unrolled his floor protector mat and went right to work doing his inspections of the heating system. I signed up for their Service Club during a special Angie's Big Deal promotion. I've used such service clubs in a previous home in a different location and have always had good experiences with them. Based on the service I received today, I'm VERY pleased with Conroe Air. Based on Israel's inspection, the blower motor starting capacitor needed to be replaced. He had the correct replacement on the truck, so I didn't have to wait for a second service trip to get it replaced. Further, he did a very thorough inspection of the supply and return ducts and chaises. He made several recommendations and provided pricing for each. I really appreciated the no pressure approach: here's what I found; here's my recommendations; let me know if you want to pursue any or all of them. You can tell the service quality level of a company by the attitude of their personnel. From the front office personnel, to the Rocky, the manager, and most especially, Israel, it is apparent that Conroe Air is a top notch company. I look forward to being a Service Club member, and would highly recommend them to any one in their service area.

Employee ALWAYS calls to say they are on their way. They arrive within 15/30 minutes of appointment time. We have been customers since we first used them and don't consider any other company when it comes to heating and air conditioning questions or problems. After the service has been performed there is always a follow up call from the company to make sure the visit was satisfactory.

Really well. Some lack of communication between work orders made ceiling & wall damage worse due to incorrect pipe/drain that was broken/leaking. They repaired all water damage at their cost.

Lee and men were on time and performed duties as stated. Lee was to come out later and almost did not show - after several calls, told Lee did not work w/ company any longer. New crew, Joey, came out, adjusted damper, adjusted air flow and seems to work now. Discovered unit wasn't level. Another trip to do it! In all, very willing to do anything we required to get job done as we wanted it!

Description of Work: We'd finally given up on any constructive response from the orignal vendor of our HVAC equipment (Arvell Moore) and used Angie's list to shop for someone that was reliable and closer to our home location.Conroe Air responded quickly and has provided excellent service. Repaired the main unit (bad CVX valve) earlier this spring and has now confirmed a bad/leaking coil on the secondary unit - which has been the issue that A/M was non responsive on. They also found that the upstair system air flow was inadequate due to an undersized return system. While not anticipated, this is part of the follow up work that is pending as of this writing. It has been a pleasure to deal with Conroe Air; my only disappointment has nothing to do with them. We paid extra for a full 10 yr. service warrantey from Arvell Moore which cannot now be enforced, so that was money on the initial install that I might as well stacked in the driveway and burned.
